So, I'm trying to write up a magical ritual that calls up a wraith. There's some restrictions and the wraith isn't fully under the control of the summoner, more like a guided weapon that is released on a target. That's not the question here.
My question is this: if it were a standard calling spell similar to planar binding, at which level do you think calling up a Wraith (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/wraith.htm) would be appropriate?
Being CR 5, it would seem appropriate at around a level of 5 or 6, comparing it to the Summon Monster line. But it's actually quite nasty compared to a lot of monsters of that level, being incorporeal with a quite nasty drain attack.
