A player in a campaign that may be starting soon is looking to play a dragon as a PC, and we took a look at the dragon progressions in Dragon 320. He's most interested in bronze dragons, but from a glance the progressions seem really weak. They include rather large stat bonuses and, obviously, dragon HD. However, at level 20 the bronze dragon progression has 13 HD, a 7d6 breath weapons, 13 BAB, and 2nd level spells. I really don't see how this could ever stack up against a level 20 character, even with the large state adjustments.
Is there any reasonable/fair progressions for dragon PCs, or am I missing something that makes this better than it seems? He's not trying to make anything world shattering, just something that will actually be able to contribute.
