[3.5] Any way to get Shield Bonus after Shield Sling?

According to the SRD:


If you use your shield as a weapon, you lose its AC bonus until your next action

While Improved Shield Bash explicitly allows its user to gain the shield bonus to AC following a shield bash, this doesn't seem to include Shield Sling, since Shield Sling isn't a shield bash.

My question is, assuming you can get the shield back after the attack, say with Lightning Ricochet, is there any way to get the shield bonus to AC? Or is such a character just out of luck?

You could get a force shield ring which can be activated or deactivated as a free action. Trigger it after using your shield and deactivate it when you regain your shield bonus to AC.

Cary a second shield? The bonuses don't stack, but you still get it from the one when you fling the other.
