how do you feel warmage, and warlock merge into the thurge classes.

It's something that I've always wanted to try from a pure blaster standpoint. From a SAD point, I also like it better than sorcerer.

For power, not so great, but for style, it sounds like it could be fun.

In comparable , do you think tier 3 or weak tier 2

Not tier 2. It can't really do more in a round than either of the base classes.

Tier 3 at the most. Probably tier 4. I'm personally of the opinion that the warlock should be t3, not t4 as it's listed, but either way, Warmage is a low tier 4 at best. There's no way you're hitting t2 without going rainbow servant 10 or something first.

More like Tier 4, possibly a weak tier 3 depending on how much Warmage you use to dilute the Warlock half. All a Warmage can do is blast stuff...blast stuff exceptionally, but that's all it can do - the definition of Tier 4. Warlocks hover between 3 and 4 depending on the invocation selection available (adding splats benefits them immensely).

How about Warlock/Warmage gestalt?

Warmages get a few (good) BFC spells as well, and a limited set of buffs. Could you get into exalted arcanist or sandshaper for example before theurging and advanced the arcane side that way it would add versatility (and spells).

A warmage // warlock gestalt would be close to mid tier 3. One could focus on interesting utility invocations and use the standard blast and warmage spells for damage. You would be a good blaster with a bag of tricks. If you focused all on blasting, you are back at tier 4.

Eldritch theurge would actually be a helpful bonus to a warmage. Easiest advantage I'm seeing is throwing vitriolic blast on your spells using eldritch spellweave to turn all those SR: yes spells into SR: no spells.
