So it seems they took the flavorless Arcanist, and gave it real class abilities.

The Revision (http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2qel1?Official-Revision-Arcanist)

While I think it's fun, it's still a very potent T1 class. I'm wondering what everyone else thinks though.

I think it's awful (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showpost.php?p=16511314&postcount=720). Waaaaay stronger than a sorcerer, and it's only worthwhile to pick a Wizard over this in special circumstances. And to be honest it's not even any more interesting or flavorful than before, it's just a 3.5 wizard with a bunch of the better feats and ACFs applied.

I have to agre with craft cheese..

I went in thinking ( i read teh arcanist 3rd or 4th) Thinking " ok I don't think we really need ANOTHER arcane caster.. but if they make this 'tier'3 then that'll be cool

Only what i found was they decided to take what is best about teh wizard and the sorcerer and slap it together.

I think the Arcnasitw ould be great IF they knocked it down to 6th level spell max and got a completley different capstone all together.. that is soemthing that I feel a wizard should have, not the arcane resevoir but the "hey looky me, now i cna make a really powerful spell X times a day! due to my mastery of the arcane of course"

Yeah.. Paizo dropped the ball so hard on this one I think it may have caused the earthquake in ohio recently (its cool not trying to offend anybody; it was literally just 2 or so miles from my old house there)

They could have made a class that was really into magical research so much.. they ust kinda forog the actual spell casting.. instead this si bascially the wizard on crack. and something tells me that nobody is going to ever actually fix it.

I basically agree with most of the points you made over on Paizo, the thing is crazy town banana pants.

The lacking points are a bit of a concern, and the recharge mechanic is pretty crazy (WBL for class abilities), as well as the relative power of some of them.

This thing is hopefully going on the shelf with Beta Summoner as a revamped idea that gets toned down a notch (I freaking loved Beta Summoner though...so powerful...)
