The trip to New Orcus has been uneventful so far from the trip to Merryburg. The carriage that you are in is comfortable. Dreams having been haunting you for weeks now. Showing you images of the city while a woman's voice softly calls for you "Come to New Orcus be my champion!" Over and over the voice calls. Then you awake with no other urge then to arrive at New Orcus as soon as possible.

You enter into the forest a forest so dense that you need a light source to see even during the daylight hours. It is quite in the forest. When your carriage comes to a halt. You look out the window and see a carriage that looks like it has seen some trouble suggested by the small arrows sticking out of the side and a wheel that has broken off the vehicle.

Just beyond the light you see a humanoid walking up from the opposite direction of that you were traveling.

Faunra

The run had tired her but at least it had taken her in the correct way - she briefly wondered about her sword, it was just a blade - but it was hers and that meant that she wanted it back.

However her effort might be wasted if others ransacked the site first, ensuring that her bow and morningstar were accessible and moved onward to the site - perhaps the caravan would merely pass by.

Anna

"Hail!" Anna calls to the other person, running her hands through part of her waist-length blonde hair to shake the travel out of it. She fixes bright blue eyes on the person running toward her, smiling encouragingly.

@Faurna: You here her friendly greeting.

Sorry been a bit busy lately.

Faurna

She returned the smile - any individual that was travelling alone and smiled at an approaching armoured figure was either confident, foolish or ingratiating this was well for her.

Noting the features as she approached - another tainted member of her own race she wondered if the other warrior had perished briefly.

"Hail and well met" she replied.

Anna

She flourished her hand in front of herself, drawing attention to her utter lack of weaponry and minimal armor. "I am Anna, stopped on my way to New Orcus."

Faurna

Noticing the lack of suitable armour and weaponry was a bit of a puzzle "the woods are host to many things that some would consider to be unnatural - a fellow elf except of tainted blood unarmed and barely armoured looks ... odd" it wasn't a threat but she allowed the suspicion to be evident.

"So if I might ask why have you stopped here - and why approach New Orcus without protection" she asked plainly.

"Tainted blood?" Anna raised an eyebrow. "That's a new one. Usually people think my blood is a little purer than most. And I have all the weapons I need at my disposal, thanks."

Anna nodded at the arrow-ridden carriage. "I stopped to check and make sure no one is hurt. I'm going to do that, if you don't mind, my mysterious friend."

Faurna

She rolled her eyes, another simpering being with a serve the sick the hurt and the poor mentality - she had lost her sword already today she was not in the mood for this.

"You are not a full elf - your blood is tainted my an outside source, neither are you a full member of your ancestors kind, in that your blood is tainted by your elven heritage. As such no matter how you view it you are a tainted creature" explaining these things to people was irksome at times.

Reviewing the girl for noble intent she was not surprised to find none, the girl lacked the power of her convictions - which was good.

"If this is the site I think it is there will be no injured - my aim is to locate an object within - please do not interfere with that" it would be somewhat fatal otherwise but she held the threat back from the tone.

"Well, aren't you a bundle of sunshine," Anna crosses her arms over her chest. "I don't know what you want in there or why, and I suppose it's not my business. Call for me if there's anyone hurt in there."

Among the wreck of a wagon that has been stripped of anything even remotely valuable including anything leather or iron. However you do find the body of a small humanoid creature wearing leather dyed green. He resembles a halfling but with a thinner build. He is breathing upon inspection but just barely so.

Faurna

She moved around the camp cautiously in case of traps, mostly overturning items and trying to find the chest when she came upon the halfling-esque creature.

Prodding it with her boot a few times to see if it would wake up, she finally decided to call the other - if they wanted to help they could at least be useful.

"There is an injured person here" she called once it was healed she could question it properly.

Anna trots over, kneeling next to the guy. He seems to be breathing shallowly, and she examines him, taking his pulse and putting her ear to his chest.

"Hmm," she hums. "He's alive. Let's see if I can't get him conscious."

Luckily you can take a 10 on that skill.

You tend to the creatures wounds. After about 10 minutes the things eyes start to flutter open.

"There we go," Anna murmurs, leaning forward to place a hand on his forehead. Though an unnecessary gesture, it ensures that the first thing he'll see is her, and the first thing he'll feel is a motion commonly associated with giving care.

Seeing the other woman's work she nodded, she wouldn't have to waste resources.
She smiled at the Gnome a soft friendly smile "I am Faurna and the person that helped you is Anna, I am looking for a red chest that should have been in the wreckage - can you help me out and tell me what happened here?" she asked as plainly and clearly as she could - the gnomes grammar was obviously not the best.

Anna keeps quiet, pulling her hand back and letting Faurna handle her business. She can get the gnome's pertinent information later, and kindle his sense of debt when Faurna is rooting around for her chest or whatever it is she's really looking for.

She looked at the gnome, she was rapidly losing patients with this day however she would remain committed to a friendly approach for now.

"My friend, I am afraid that I do not know what you are talking about. However this has been deemed a crime and as such it is best that you assist me in locating the Red Chest - perhaps if you explain what occurred we can come to an understanding" hopefully the creature would not force her to resort to cruder methods - if that occured the chest would be lost. But then she supposed that she could simply report failure of the mission and truthfully indicate that the knows intended to destroy the chest.

"Is your name Fasner?" she asked to attempt to build a rapport.

The aasimar tries not to laugh as Faurna's attempt at empathy falls flat. She has no idea if the woman is any good with the sword she's chasing, but Anna can say with all certainty that she won't be giving her a run for her money when it comes to social manipulation.

She doesn't have a sword (she lost it) she has a Morningstar.
I am assuming 'tries not to laugh as' would have some failure involved as it didn't read as a stoic reaction.

Faurna

The other woman trying to hold back her humour did not sit well with her, and the creatures attitude was offensive to her - still it had one chance before she might take out her frustrations on both of them.

Toying with the morningstar almost whimsically, she truly preferred a sword but really the weapon was better in many ways.

"Good to meet you Limeat - can you tell me about Fasner than, what is is and why is it so bad" if she knocked the gnome out she could take him back for questions - than her employee could deal with the rest while she moved on to with the seeds she had planted in him.

"Good, we go now." He leans on you as he points the way through the dark forest. You travel through the woods for about a hour. until you emerge from the forest to see true to its name a very large mound. There is a 5 foot door cut into the mound. There is a torch on either side of the door, and two gnomes wielding spears on either side.

"You come?" he waves his hand towards the door. waiting for you to enter.
