View Full Version : [PF]Improving melee accuracy on a Psychic Warrior?

Fairly straightforward question but one I'm not entirely sure how to address.

Basically I'm setting up a Meditant Psychic Warrior at level 3 for an upcoming game - I'm going to have quite a few bonuses to damage thanks to Assassin Path and Psionic Fist, and later on Advanced Assassin Path* - so I'm not worried too much about my damage bonus against most targets... but I am very concerned about my ability to land hits in the first place.

At level 3 with a 16 Dex and Weapon Finesse, I've only got +5 to hit. Now, ideally I'll be flanking as much as humanly possible, but that's still only a +7, and that bonus isn't guaranteed by any stretch either.

So... I'm wondering if there's something I can do without multiclassing to improve my attack bonus in melee. The only obvious choice I can think of is Weapon Focus, but I've heard nothing but bad about that feat and I generally have other things I want to spend feats on anyway for this character... Weapon Finesse itself is just a kludge so I can avoid pumping Strength to keep my important stats to 2 (Dex and Wis).

Just to be clear, I'm not allowed any 3.5e material, so any options from that are sadly unavailable. < . .>

Here's the character sheet in progress if that helps:

Any help is much much appreciated. Psychic stuff is kinda new-ish to me still, and I'm also more used to playing full BAB or full caster characters, so this is something very different than my typical.

*My DM is letting Psionic Fist count as a pre-req for it instead of Psionic Weapon since they're functionally identical.

Offensive Precognition (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/psionics-unleashed/psionic-powers/p/precognition) will be a +1 on your attack rolls. Inevitable Strike (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/psionics-unleashed/psionic-powers/i/inevitable-strike) is a +5, but only on one attack (note that they're both insight bonuses and don't stack).

Weapon Focus isn't really an awful feat if you need it. Accuracy is damage - it's just a bit boring.

Remember that allies can be a great source of bonuses to attack rolls - a bard's song, a tactician's coordinated strike, a cleric's bless - see what your fellow players are picking up.

You'll need Unavoidable Strike, assuming that is being swapped for Deep Impact as a prereq for Advanced Assassin's Path. It is nice when you really want to get the hit.

Why didn't I think of Precognition?! Gah >< Thank you for reminding me of that power. You basically solved 2 of my problems at once heh, thank you very much!

*edit*

Also that, thank you for pointing that out for me Canine <o.o>
