In a large open field of earth and rocks, Mt. Ignis stands, the volcano towing above it. The ominous mountain has been the bane of many, and few have ever ventured in.
This time though, something's different.
Adventurers have been requested to go to Mt. Ignis by the dragon that roost on the top, Pyrus.

here's Clara, with her three, kitten-sized minor dragons flying sound her head. She's dressed in a tan uniform with a long cloak. Whenever she stands still the cloak gives off a chameleon like effect, which counteracts oddly with the way her body glows when she's at rest. She leans heavily on her wooden staff as she gazes up the mountain. Well boys, you wanted an adventure...
As for the minor dragons, Krakl, the purple one, has an affinity for lightning and weather prediction. Gymn has a green coloring to his scales and can heal injuries. Lastly, Candor, with his blue and orange hide, can teleport through portals, which can grow in size with Clara Tovell's aid.
Wizard Tovell doesn't appear to have any luggage, but looks can be deceiving...

Mountain Base-A Disturbance in the Force

Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Sith live for battle, for combat, for the chance to best a worthy opponent and relish in the copper smell of his victim's blood... In battle the Sith are the strongest, more one with the force than meditation can ever give them. It is the Sith way.

Trucido Amare, known to most as Darth Calamity makes his appearance, eager to test his mettle against the renowned volcano. More specifically, the monsters famed to be around the place. The landscape was rocky and harsh. It somewhat reminded him of Mustafar, but minus the rivers of lava.

He notices another individual, and attempts to use his force powers to try and scout out her mind. Just a bit. Hello there.

A rock creature strides up. It's around five meters tall, and formed of a dense, dark rock around a core of magma. The creature is pleasantly warm, but not hot.

"Greetings."

Ray appears suddenly, with lots of dust kicked up by his entrance. After scratching behind his gill-ears for a moment he focuses for the first time on his surroundings. He smiles as he gazes up on the spectacular mountain of fire. "Now this, this is a good location for a quest!" he exclaims out loud to no-one in particular. It should be loud enough for others to hear him, subtlety is not exactly something Ray is good at.

an absolutely ENORMOUS red dragon covered in scales the shade of dried blood descends in front of the adventurers.
Salutations, quest-seekers! I am Pyrus, Wyrm of Ignis.
The Elder Dragons's voice is deep and gruff.

Ga'roth bows deeply. When he straightens up, he shivers slightly, and a large, shiny diamond rises from deep within his magma core and drops into his rocky palm.

"A gift for a fellow creature of fire."

Mountain Meeting

Flying around excitedly, the three miniature dragons spew out thoughts and pictures into the minds of all nearby who haven't protected their minds. As for Trucido, once Clara feels his presence in her mind she says My thoughts belong to me and Wulder! With that, her mind has an impenetrable barrier for a few minutes, with no limits of renewal. She nods to the other quest members and bows low to the dragon.

Well, it was a try. Trucido doesn't respond to her but instead puts his hands down at his lightsabers, enjoying the familiar smooth chrome hilt in his hands. He had no doubt that he'd get the blood samples he needed here. After all... Three wyrmlings, and elder dragon, and a plethora of possibly draconian monsters? Easy. He'd leave with gold in his pocket and the samples he required for experimentation with his new partner.

He doesn't speak. Doesn't even gesture towards the others. They're all idiots. All of them. Pathetic broken little wastes of flesh. Filth. Humanity. What a joke. These are the regular people here. Do I really have to stand here and venture with these... sub-par imbeciles? Yes. I do. Gods I hate them all.

With no psychic protection to speak of Ray is left momentarily dazed by the little dragons thoughts. He considers asking someone about these projections but decides it isn't worth the effort. He then saunters up to the Wyrm. "Nice to meet ya Pyrus! I presume you'll be our host for the evening?" This may seem like an odd way to phrase the question especially since it may or may not be evening. But to Ray any quest through perilous terrain might as well be a party since he enjoys them so much.

The cave is filled with treasures, from gems and gold to black briefcases filled with dollars, euros, lien, and other types of paper money.

Oh, you shall.
Mount Ignis us a sort of sanctuary for beings closely tied to the element of fire, and was originally home to a portal to a fire-aligned area in the plane of the Elemental Chaos.
This area has since been conquered by Water elementals, and these threaten to destroy our sanctuary. I require you to close the portal before this can happen.

Darth Calamity rolls his eyes. Water with water. Water expands when more volume is added. It doesn't destroy it at all. Unless you could somehow split water molecules. But that would be messy. Ugh. Magic.

Then Ray approaches him. The Sith stands up straighter and breathes in deeply, his hands resting in his coat pocket. Assessing the area. Looking forward and sensing for any sort of hostile units like a real[I]warrior ought to do in a situation that could very easily go badly for all of us. Now please, leave me alone and let me continue to watch over your asses. Amateurs give me [I]such headaches...

Alright. Dragon. Let's cut to the chase here, we should go. Quickly. Location of the Water Elemental Area, and tell me what our reward is. Then we'll be off as soon as possible.

If Calamity decides not to attack Ray for his admittedly brazen actions he will suddenly snap back to his old demeanor like nothing had ever happened. "Well good thing the volcano's not active!" he quips "don't want us getting exploded on in the middle of the quest!"

Calamity stares right into Ray's eyes, obviously not at all threatened by the man. He continues chewing the bit of gum in his mouth before he spits his wad down at Ray's feet. He's not about to risk his secret mission by getting in a fight with the likes of this little man. He doesnt utter a single word, instead he continues to just stand there, completely unimpressed. He was a Sith trained in the brutal ancient military Sith'ari training. A man forged by the fires of hate and anger. He would not be provoked.

Calamity will now move forward to the tunnel. Good. You, behind then. We'll be leading the group forward. We will be intruding upon enemy territory, so we are to put out any electronic device that gives off a signal. No sounds, no speaking beyond whispers. We'll quietly enter the base and attack from the inside. Understand? We'll travel in two lines. I will lead one. The dragon-keeper will lead the other.

Clara sighs, nodding towards Pyrus before attempting to galvanize the group into a positive direction. She slams her staff into the ground (which isn't necessary, but should make a descent amount of noise) and the crystal mounted on the crest of her staff glows intensely bright. The Wizard makes her way towards the front, stopping behind Ga'roth, and uses her magic to bend the light around them to cast a visual illusion of no one there, apart from the molten golem. Of course, anyone with magical protection can easily disregard this, as it's not intended to be aggressive or particularly powerful.
She turns to the others within her bubble of light. My comrades-in-arms, bickering will lead is to death, not victory. No one here can claim superiority over the other, and I would like you to remember that. We do not know each other, but we must earn the trust of our fellow comrades if anything is to get done.
I have cast an illusion, but it will be ineffective if you leave the shimmering half-circle, and silence must be maintained at all times. Please keep this in mind.
There, hopefully we can get along better.

Trucido sighs, absolutely hating nearly everyone here. So annoyingly unprofessional. The best plan in his mind was to arm each of them with blasters and travel in small groups. The groups would meet up in the water elemental cave, plant the bomb inside Trucido's coat, then collapse the entire cavern.

But, he needed the money. So, he silently stands, making sure his personal Bryar Blaster Pistol was loaded and ready. He pulls the trigger back, waiting the five seconds for the Bryar Pistol to fuel up it's much stronger charged shot. Upon release of the trigger, it would shoot out a much stronger blast. He waited. Whatever. Can we hurry?

Ray looks around and then nods. "Alright, lets get a move on" he says smiling. In order to make a stealthy entrance he will keep his mouth unless prompted, a welcome silence for everyone involved. The only noise he'll make is quickly chugging down a water bottle from his pocket. It will take a while before the water he ingested can be used in combat but as long as the illusion holds he should be able to get it down by the time they reach their destination. Once finished he will hesitate for a moment then crumple up the bottle and stick it back in his pocket.

As he walks - somehow managing to be completely silent - Ga'roth carefully keeps watch for any attacks. He has very finely honed tremorsense, to the point where he can feel disturbances in the air as well as the ground (depending on the strength of the movement and how close it is), so it should be almost impossible to take him by surprise.

Trucido's senses are well honed, meant to find a target rounds before the target sees him. Usually the end of one of Trucido's targets came quickly, with a swift slice of his finely-crafted sabers, long before anyone would notice he was ever there.

As such, Trucido's already got the archons in his sight. The only issue is, he's at a few disadvantages. First, the big lumbering oafs behind him would cause noise, especially if they tried to pass. Secondly, he'd have to rely on his Bryar Blaster. He raises his hand and makes a quiet, "Sssshhh..." Several targets ahead.... Use ranged. AS such, he moves to hide behind a near rock, crouching to have his gun and just a bit of his head gazing at his first target. He pulls the trigger and feels the quiet vibrations of the gun charging. Clara watches Trucido draw his weapon and nearly gives a mental warning not to blow their cover, but Ga'roth intervenes first and a giant fire archon slaps the bridge. The shaking that would presumably follow a large creature stomping on something makes her drop to her knees, causing the shield to flicker for a moment before she can focus again. That means there's a possibility of being found out. Either way, she still can't see very effectively. :smallannoyed:

Domnus sees the flicker. He notices that he will not bode well against he archon. He steps behind a rock and waits for the end of the battle.

Well, Trucido certainly smirks towards Ga'Roth, evidently amused by the creature's attitude. He gestures over at the bridge before blinking and sighing before speaking. You really aren't terribly bright are you. That thing is not going to let us pass. Fire Archons by nature are extremely territorial and aggressive, and as such is hardly the kind of creature to simply let intruders and strangers such as ourselves to pass what he perceives as his area. So kindly, before you get us burnt alive, trust me. With that, Trucido will fire his blast. The Bryar Blast is very powerful when charged, and Trucido is shooting towards the ceiling. This will most likely cause a large section of it to fall down over the lake and land on the large archon, probably killing or trapping him within a very heavy rock. Trucido aimed expertly, and used the Force to guide his shot. It should simply knock the large section off and cause little to no collateral damage to the ceiling.

"Who are you talking to? Does it by any chance happen to be a being of fire, like that Archon, who could negotiate with it? Why, yes it does! Could he shield you if things go south because he's immune to fire? Why, yes he could! So kindly lower that damn pistol and -"

Then he shoots the roof down. Ga'roth sighs, and dissolves into a stream of boulders, gravel and magma, disappearing into the mess and presumably emerging on the other side.

Ray snaps at Trucido. "Woah what are you doing!" he yells in an annoyed tone "do you want to get payed?! If that archon you just murdered was a friend of Pyrus we just lost our pay check!" He considers lecturing Trucido on the ethical implications of killing someone unprovoked, but decides that he probably doesn't care. Ray groans in frustration and mumbles some obscenities under his breath, before pulling himself back together. He hits the pool of lava surrounding the rock Trucido shot down with a barrage of water, hoping to make absolutely sure the path is safe to cross.

The archon is annihilated!
... At least, it appears to be
The water evaporates before it hits the lava from the heat as the fire archon rises, roaring in anger.
It tries to punch the outcropping and therefore hit the party! :smalleek:

Angry Archons

Clara listens in frustration as Trucido makes stupid arguments, then yelps as he follows through! She drops the invisibility bubble and holds her staff diagonally against her chest, shooting out a massive mess of wet, mossy, vines to (hopefully) block the archon's punch. You fool! She reprimands Calamity, have you nothing but death in your heart? If we make it out of this alive, I vote you out of the party! The vines aren't likely to do much more than maybe obscure the creature's vision, but it might help.

Domnus, from his hiding spot, casts a silent spell to reinforce the vines.

Great Balls of Fire:

Trucido simply waits for the vine's to work, trusting that her spell will hold the beast at bay. He holsters the Briar Blaster before aiming a hand forward at the rock yet again, this time using a particularly large one to attempt to slam into the archons head, hopefully bashing the archon into the wall. If the creature had a solid body, the power from the attack ought to completely crush it's skull against the wall. I'm not sure how an archon would react to the attack though. As for the others, he doesn't quite care. He was only here for one reason, not even really the award.

OOC: It's so much fun to watch Trucido's reactions to the party, your a great writer Mad Hatter. Can't be fun to be the ruthless pragmatist in a party of do-gooders XD

Ray suddenly realizes that if things continue to escalate they may have to actually kill the fire archon. This doesn't sit well with him, a few years ago he had decapitated a sorceress in anger. He was so horrified by the blood on his hands that he swore never to kill a sapient being again. But he couldn't let the archon kill any of them either, and he doesn't know if he can stop his teammates from killing the being. He decides to try diplomacy, as slim of a chance as that may have. Water creeps up the vines and forms a layer around it, on their tips the water glows and expands into star-like shapes. They may look pretty but they are just barely held together by Ray's will, if things continue to go south they will explode, each one with the force of a hand grenade. He walks up to the behemoth, a determined look in his eyes, although still staying behind the vines. "Look man" he says calmly "your outnumbered and outgunned. We don't want to kill you, but we will if necessary. Now we don't want your territory or anything, all we want is to pass through here quickly. If you let us through you without incident you will not be harmed any further, and will never see us again."

Then explain why that creature shot me!
The archon replies, angrily, pointing a glowing finger at Trucidio.

)(spoilers)(

Clara calls out from behind the mess of vines. He who shot you does not speak for us as a party, and he acted completely apart from the wishes of the majority. We seek no quarrel with you, firemaster.

(Thank you very much Koopa! I try to make my writing as interesting as possible.)

Trucido rolls his eyes and speaks to the archon, crossing his arms confidently, his Bryar Blaster facing away from the elemental. He replies quickly and matter of factly to the fire archon, frankly a tad annoyed at how the team was spending so much time on the little thing. If he was here with a group of Sith'ari Elites, the archons would already be defeated and the group would be all the closer to their goal. However, these weren't Sith he was travelling with. These were adventures. Not even competent adventurers even! He quickly and matter-of-factly replies to the creature. I shot you because you're an obstacle, and a fairly weak one at that. And you know what I to obstacles, flame? I break them. These fools might be squeamish when it comes to death, but I am certainly not. Now move aside. before I not only damage you, but your friends and abode as well. With that, Trucido will attempt to walk right past the bridge. It's more to prove a point and look confident, however he has his powers ready for action.
