The original title was going to be "We finally developed enough Gramarie Homebrew of a Homebrew to warrant having it's own compendium! Hurray! I'll bake the cake if you pass out the invites! ... Oh? Your handwriting is that bad? You sure? Well if you want to bake the cake instead I can write the invites... WELL FINE! If you didn't want to have a party you should have just said so... :smallfurious: [Compendium, Gramarie]", but for obvious reasons it wasn't going to fit.

For those of you unfamiliar with Gramarie, I recommend you get ready to do a lot of reading :smallannoyed:

IRC: Rizon.net | #Gramarie

A wise man once explained Gramarie as (This is Fako, by the by, whom I am convinced is really Joe Pesci in disguise)

Gramarie at its most basic could be called a "modular magitech system", but you'd be missing key features by boiling it down so far. Unlike magic which is designed to give players fantastic abilities within a set of confined rules, it is designed to give players a voice in the world, allowing them to shape the collective play space. This can change things in ways that the Game Master may not have intended. As such, giving players access to Gramarie requires a great deal of trust from the Game Master, and is not going to be a perfect fit for every player at every table. However, having this voice provides a very rewarding experience (when used responsibly) and I do not suggest dismissing this system simply out of fear of what players might do with it.

Just as magic is divided into schools of thought, so are Gramaric Principles divided into Disciplines of study. Alone, each Discipline is a rather powerful tool in and of its own right, but the beauty of the system lies in linking the areas of study together. In this way, Gramarie encourages creative thinking and problem solving from the players, letting them build amazing and wonderful things as they themselves invent ways to combine the distinct portions of the system.

Also unlike magic, Gramarie takes time. Most principles take at least thirty minutes to pull off, making them impractical in combat. However, the structures that Gramarie creates may come into play during fights, such as a semi-space in a shield that helps to absorb an incoming fireball, or a mech that a player has painstakingly designed to a fault, only to forget the addition of weapons. :smalltongue:

Above all else, if you are the one running the game, be prepared to be flexible. With how open this system is, it assumes a level of cooperation between the Game Master and the player in order to actually work. Your players will have questions, and you will need to find answers. Trust me, this is a good thing.

Campaign Settings

Fractured Horizon (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=293713): Although the developer rarely post anymore stuff, I am hopeful that he will continue in making us explore the rings of the cosmos

Nevermorph (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=319786): For most Gramarie settings things are often gritty and dark and nowhere is that more apparent than in Nevermorph. After examining a bit of the elements of this dark Gramarie setting, I got a very "Dead Space" feeling to it. Take a peek on in and explore the darkest aspects of the cosmos. Unfortunately the developer has received less attention than such a campaign setting should, but it is still in it's infancy.

Jerall is effectively a Gramarie campaign setting that I work on from time to time. It effectively is based off a post apocalyptic setting where the world was destroyed by science in a very Fallout sort of way. Think Fallout d20, except birthed here right on the playgrounds. If for any reason that you believe that the classes or content for Jerall is a little too overpowered, that is because you are looking at it from the lens of a standard D&D game. Encounters on Jerall are all supposed to have CR +2 and only offer XP for an equal level. Life is rough on Jerall and it is expected that the adventurers that brave this world are to be just as rough. It would be a little dishonest for me to say that ALL content placed here is exclusive to Jerall, since it is just a gestalt of Homebrew that I like, placed into one world. So basically anything in this compendium can be apart of Jerall, it's just the stuff placed here was made by me.

Base Classes

Bloodspike Dagger: Employed by adventuring Gramarist quite recently, this weapon functions as a Dagger with a special hilt that allows it to inject poisons, drugs, medication, etc. into it's target. Placing a chem into the dagger is a full round action that provokes an attack of opportunity. Optionally, if the target is willing you may choose not to deal damage as their muscles be relaxed allowing the dagger to flow seamlessly through their flesh.

Biome Bō: Used mostly by adventuring Gramarist, specialized in Geoccultism, these quarterstaffs are used to focus the powers of the biomes developed by Gramarist. Once per day, for 24 hours, a Gramarist can prepare a Geoccultism Principle into the staff and have that specific biome surround the staff and it's wielder in a 10ft. radius.

[/table]

Anitu Dust (Pit Fiend's Dandruff): A powerful drug popular amongst fiends and especially useful for Gramarist and Artificers alike for increasing productivity amongst workers.

Initial Effect: 1d4 points of Strength Damage.
Secondary Effect: User acts at twice their normal speed allowing them to perform two rounds worth of actions every round until this drugs effect wears off. The user can also finish Principles, Magical Items and Psionic Items in half the time.
Side Effect: The user will feel nauseated for an equal amount of time as their production.
Overdose: Your heart rate doubles in speed, throwing you into cardiac arrest and dealing 5d6 to you every round unless a Heal check DC 15 is performed on you.

Vile: Created by a Gramarist who wanted his soldiers to possess enhanced strength, while maintaining eternal loyalty to him.

Initial Effect: 1 point of Wisdom damage.
Secondary Effect: Damage that you cause, from any source, is increased by 50% while damage that you suffer is decreased by 50%.
Side Effect: You are incredibly easily agitated, often reacting to anger from the lightest action that you perceive being against you. You are treated as being under the effects of a continuous Rage (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/rage.htm) spell.
Overdose: Your body erupts into a massive body of bulk forcing you to endure extreme pain until your muscles finally tone down and relax. You take 3d8 points of damage every round.

Implants & Grafts

Nanomachines|0th|See text|None|500gp

Nanomachines: Often injected into Soldiers to allow them to perform better on the battlefield by allowing silent communication between two to four people by tuning into a network (Free action) and genetic modification. By casting a 1st level or lower spell or manifesting a 1st level or lower power that is harmless into a dose of Nanomachines you can confer the effects of them into a creature continuously. Additional doses of Nanomachines do allow you to supply different abilities, however you must spend 10 times the previous cost to create these specialized Nanomachines for each effect thereafter. The communication feature functions as a Telepathic Bond (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/telepathicBond.htm) spell casted at the creatures HD.

Well I am not expecting you to put all your blueprints in this thread, just the homebrew plus your future blueprints. For godsake you must have posted that Arc(canist) reactor like ten times alone. :smalltongue:

EDIT: Your views on Fractured Horizons is very different to mine...

You accidentally flipped the e and the i in Kaleidomantics.

*flies back*

You also forgot an N in both innovated templates in the first column of the templates table.

Milo! I am offended! ... A Jerallian Dragon would never attack anything directly... Most of them are God-Kings and send legion after legion of soldiers to attack. Their numbers will darken the sky... And no, you cannot fight in the shade :smalltongue:

How do I describe this... Remember my old Securitrons? Yeah, they're a little bit like that. Seriously, in that thread we were talking about making whole universes to be conquered. To note: Gramarist, for some reason, cannot make black holes. Unfortunately.

All we need to do is make something ridiculously dense. Shouldn't be too hard with Alchemetry.

And now that I think of it Gramarists can make phase spiders, so that covers the spider bit. And you definitely covered timey wimey stuff....

Maybe we can take on Science!

Prestige class?

Well the primary reason is because Black Hole mechanics do not transfer over to D&D too well if memory serves.

I'm starting to see why you created Psychomantics.... Magic which lets you win arguments seems immensely useful

I created Psychomantics as a tool to keep people connected and to allow thoughts and opinions to function the cosmos. A form of "Super-Internet", if you will.

It can have infinite mass and infinity density, however due to any lack of Black hole mechanics for D&D or Gramarie (HINT, HINT!), it won't collapse into itself to form a Black Hole.

Until someone makes a Discipline based on Astrophysics (I don't wish this on my greatest enemy, mind you), Black Hole creation is technically impossible at the moment.

Yeah, the closet we have is d20 modern giving mechanics for how much radiation poisoning you get being near one.

Which it fits rather well which was really helping my Netrunner class until I realized you made the Neuromancer

Technically there aren't mechanics for turning water into steam. But I saw a fair bit of steampowered devices on this forum. Why can't we go by the same assumption that physics (sorta) works how it does in real life?
