I seek to prove one of my players wrong in their idea that fighter suck and not worth playing, a nasty surprise I wish to bring forward. A challange to give a threat to a party throughout my campaign, and essentially show even Fighters can be extremely effective.

If any I believe the Minimaxers/Munchkins here would be able to help me prove my player is wrong.

First off, maybe this should go in the D20/Pathfinder section?
More to the point, fighters do sort of suffer from having a limited toolbox so you do need to get a bit creative in order to be effective. For starters, stuff like tanglefoot bags and caltrops are seldom used in games and they can really wreck someone's day. I'd also recommend reading up on cover and terrain rules. In Pathfinder trees provide a cover bonus to AC and reflex saves. A small one, but you take what you can get. (Forest Terrain section.) (http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/environment.html)
As for character build and feats... Without knowing too much about who you're trying to challenge I'd suggest an old classic; the Whirlwind Attack + Great Cleave fighter. Admittedly it's never been as crazy as it was in 3.0 but you do end up with a character that's highly mobile and can attack a lot of targets. Really, it's the closest I've seen to a fighter managing AoE type damage.

Well the player in question will be playing wizard, what's interesting and annoying is the fact they know quite well wizards can be powerful and yet she's resistant towards me bringing wizard more in line with 3.5 then Pathfinder by requiring forbidden schools for specialist and taking away the Universalist school.

You see time and again players have talked about how powerful wizards are, largely because of their versatility, and yet Pathfinder only nerfed some of the arguably too powerful spells and also nerf something that shouldn't have been weakened... yet then turn around and throw out the forbidden schools and give opposition schools instead. Essentially screwing up one of the balancing factors between Universalists and Specialists, in addition to giving even more versatility.

Yet that is neither here nor there for this discussion, I want a fighter that will scare my wizard loving player. Perhaps with a combination of an archetype and feats. Again third party sources are allowed for this build in addition to official Pathfinder books. What would help is this Pathfinder haven't nerfed fighter's most powerful feat combo but alas...
