Giant in the Playground Prestige Class Contest I - Sensory Input

Sight. Sound. Touch. Taste. Scent. These five senses tell us all that we know about the world, about what to fear and what to trust. But what of those who manipulate those senses for their personal gain? Or the others who have a hidden, sixth sense? Surely they must be mighty villains or great heroes.

The contest has begun and will continue until midnight, February 14th (PST). Shortly thereafter, a poll will be opened for everyone to vote for their favorite. This poll will last until midnight of the 21st.

Rules are available on the Entry thread. (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31800)

This is the comments thread: conversation regarding the entries goes here.

I have a concept, just working out how to do it.

Scentwright stats posted (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1842910#post1842910)! Subject to balancing, possibly addition of a different capstone ability, but otherwise done.

Posted the Master Synesthete.

I'm actually thinking of making it non-psionic (making all the abilities Ex), although I'd need to find different requirements, of course. There's nothing really *essentially* psionic about the class. Thoughts?

I read the first couple entries and felt inspired to post the first thing that came to my mind, being the Disciple of the Eyeless Way. He'll probably need significant tweaking, but I feel I've captured the essence.

My biggest dread is that a prestige class like this already exists in some sourcebook somewhere.

And Belboz, I'll admit I've not much experience in psionic classes, but it strikes me that that sort of self-mastery is very psionic in mood, if not in actual abilities.

Sigh...I've submitted the Transcendant Visionary, and feel like a horrible person for it.

Damn. Now that The Demented One's entered I don't stand a snowball's chance in hell in this contest.

Hah! Good job with the Transcendent! That said, I'm glad all these people are taking advantage of the Scent ability. It's slowly making my PrC actually useful... ¬_¬

Hey, demented one, should I feel honored that you mentioned me? While it is true that some drugs are legal over here, most aren't.

The Transcendant Visionary seems awfully familiar... Did you get that from Isaac from Heroes?

I've never made a PrC before, but I think I'll give it a shot here.

Snowballs actually have a good chance in Hell. I keep it cold this time of year.

Hey, I can't pass up a chance to rip on the Dutch.

I wasn't actively thinking of him, but in retrospect, yeah, there's some pretty obvious inspiration. What I was really thinking of when I made the class is Unknown Armies's Narco-Alchemy.

I suppose I should have specified which layer then. But for all I know someone's moved my snowball to Stygia or Cania.

Any comments on the unsensable, keep in mind it's not meant to be a combat class.

The Disciple of the Nightmare (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1981778#post1981778) is done.If I have time before the contest ends, I'll add a sample character. Comments are more then welcome.

Out of curiousity, is there anyway we could get the main contest thread stickied?

Got to ask the Mods Above for that, though I doubt it'll happen. Go ahead and give it a shot, though.
