Hey, so I was having an optimization-battle with one friends, and he made a level 20 something-or-other shepherd that wildshaped into a Solar Angel.

My current method that I'm thinking of using is attacking him with a dispelling weapon (I'm a fighter, for fun).

The annoying thing is that dispel and dispel burst only activate on critical hits. I can hit him 4 times/round with a threat range six weapon, but is there a better way to insure that I kill the wild shape?

And can wild shape even be dispelled by dispel magic?

And can wild shape even be dispelled by dispel magic? No. (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/specialAbilities.htm#supernaturalAbilities) Though he probably has a whole bunch of other buffs up and running.

First off, I love this notion of an optimization battle.

Have you thought about an anti-magic shell? That should work. Of course your optimization would have to include things that don't require magic.
