Is it possible to make 720p the standard definition for my youtube account?

I honestly have no clue how it works, but i'm 75% sure it has something to do with the resolution of your uploaded video.

No, I don't mean as uploader, but as a viewer, I would like to make it so that when I watch videos they automatically buffer in 720p.

I probably could have worded that better.

I can't check what it's called because I'm on my phone, but Firefox has an add-on that fixes your YouTube quality preference. I use it set to 720p and it works fine. It only lowers the quality when the video isn't available in 720p. I'm sure you can find it relatively quickly with a search.

I use chrome though.

You can set it to default to HD, but I'm not sure if that would be 720p or 1080p by default. There's certainly no way to set any arbitrary resolution you like as your default, which is annoying for me because 480p is the sweet spot that works on my Internet connection.

I'm in the exact same situation and I would certainly like something to save me from having to adjust the resolution of EVERY VIDEO if such a thing exists. :smallsigh:
