We've been discussing this, and over several browsers and operating systems, random people's avatars have not been showing up. But they show up for others, who have different missing avatars themselves. Help?

I'm pretty sure the common denominator for these disappearing pictures is that they're all hosted on Imageshack. I think I've heard they have some ongoing server issues which resurface from time to time, but that they're working on them. I'm pretty sure that's what we're experiencing, not a local glitch on the forums.

I haven't noticed a problem, so I don't think it's universal. Doesn't mean it's not site-side, though. Without knowing who "we" is, though, it'll be difficult to pin down a pattern.

I've seen disappearing avatars. Maybe all imageshack avatars could just be rehosted on imgur (no account needed, quick and easy to do that) for now.

Aye, a lot of no-show avatars for me. Using the latest version of Firefox for Mac OS X.8.

I can't see your avatar. It's imageshack, and it's not blocked on this network (followed the URL).

Jade, are you using Firefox as well? Might be an imageshack-Firefox issue, then.

I've got the latest version of FF for Win 7, and I'm not missing any avatars.

No, it's Chrome. But now I can see it, maybe because I went to the source page?

The only person's avvie I can't see is LaZodiac. Other imageshacks are fine.

Another image hosting site. Used primarily for reddit, I believe, but certainly not limited to redditors.

The problem is definitely at the side of Imageshack. I tried pinging their image hosting servers, and playing around a little, I found that img10, img200, img713, img994 and img996.imageshack.us (the last two rather inconveniently hosting their about and help sections) are unreachable for me right now.
