Well, the instruction to Tarquin to "stop watching star war" reminded me of the Backstroke of the West, so there's that.

I can imagine Tarquin successfully destroying the OotS, maiming Elan, and leaving.

A few years later, Elan shows up with a new party, sure. But he's still the clown of the party, and Tarquin suffers a mental breakdown when Elan opens the fight by cheerfully playing the kazoo (bzzz bzz bzzz!) to 'support' his team as they cut down Tarkie's hopes and dreams.
