This is a second try for those who want to play a game in the same 'verse as the order.

Inspired by this thread. Also big 16.
I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in some sort of D&D game with a lighthearted tone, where ...

The characters actively recognize they are in a universe that runs on game mechanics.
The rules are interpreted as literally as possible.
The world runs on theatrical logic.
System:3.5/Pathfinder Gestalt Mix plus house rulings on request.
Player Count: 6+ (Including my self and maybe the GM)
Style of Play: Order of the Stick plus Rule of Cool.
Allowed Content: Any Pathfinder or 3.5 book, plus my homebrew (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?p=16690633#post16690633), anyone else's homebrew (your's or someone else's) on request.
Character Creation: To be submitted by Myth-Weaves.

Backstory: Write as well as you can for it is crucial to the plot. Also, your characters all know each other.
Experience: Lv. 10
Wealth: Standard
Ability Scores: 28 point-buy
Hitpoints/Health: Max
Alignment: Any alignment is good, but the characters should be able to work together without immediately killing each other. Player vs. Player combat is alright later on. Must use M:tG color wheel instead of traditional D&D alignment. (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=174163)

Other Notes: No XP penalty for multiclassing. Use the forum dice roller. In addition, it would be appreciated if you made or commissioned an OotS-style avatar for your character. This is not mandatory, but it is highly encouraged. I will be turning this into a fancomic, so I will be grateful to anyone who wishes to contribute to the art work. GM is Set to rotation
Party One: Thokk, Illven, Reality Glitch, Thornonymous, DaOldeWolf, Lexin
Party Two: D20ragon, NekoIncardine, Dusty, Findpathfencer, Dr.Gunsforhands, Gem_knight
Party Three:

O.o.C. (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?p=16664045#post16664045)
I.C. (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?p=16664038#post16664038)

Posting interest to join with my two chars. Faolán Devlin (http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=728972) and Jeff the eidolon (http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=729000) would need a little tweaking to the new 16 but I am ready to make the necessary changes.

Okay, well I've been kinda regretting pulling out of that other game, and I think I may actually have more time to write this week than I expected (plus we may not actually get started until later, when I'm free again anyway). Plus, the prospect of having my character in an actual fancomic is just too cool to miss :smalltongue:

Will we be bringing up the rules change to Pathfinder in-setting, or just glossing over it? I'm cool with either.

Reality Glitch
2013-12-10, 02:50 PM
I've update the big 16. As for the rules change: same way the order dealt w/ it, ROLEPLAY!!!!

Thokk_Smash
2013-12-10, 02:55 PM
What's the general backstory/reason for the group to be together? Are they a group like the OotS?

And the 16 says 3.5/Pathfinder Gestalt Mix; does that mean it's a mishmash of 3.5 and PF rules, and that it is also gestalt? Apologies for asking a potentially silly question, haha.

Amaril
2013-12-10, 02:56 PM
Umm, do we have to do gestalt? Aside from it being a little high-powered for my taste, I don't actually know how it works mechanically...

Reality Glitch
2013-12-10, 03:16 PM
Yes we're group like the order, and I'll leave exactly how we mix the rules 'til after the characters in so you may choose options from either and go from there.

As for gestalt, you choose two classes each level (including racial templates such as Ghost, Half-Dragon, and Werewolf) and gain all features of both; everything else (e.g. the numeric bonus such as defences and BAB and PP) are the average of the two.

DaOldeWolf
2013-12-10, 03:17 PM
So, the only classes available are core classes and 3.5? Wondering because I would like to stay summoner and wolf shifter if possible.

Reality Glitch
2013-12-10, 03:21 PM
I've already said anything in print plus anything you get approved by me. (Such as T.V./internet references.)

Thokk_Smash
2013-12-10, 03:26 PM
Hmm, speaking of TV/Internet references...

Would requesting two classes be too much? Cause I think a self-aware Power Ranger would be a fun thing to play. Requesting the Kyodai (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=300555) and Sentai (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=264677). He'll be his own Megazord!

Lexin
2013-12-10, 03:38 PM
I am not sure if it would be worth anything in combat... but I would like to try:
To mix Truenaming (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=90961)
with
a Bard (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=201346)...

i want 3.5 but i dont really care

Illven

Would the battledancer base class be allowed. http://dndtools.eu/classes/battle-dancer/

And the dashing swordsman prestige class
http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29882

Also when you say 28 point buy, is that pathfinder point buy or 3.5 point buy?

Volcan
2013-12-10, 05:42 PM
so we are doing 3.5?
if not i will play my hobgoblin sorceror
if so i will play a new character but still a castor probably

Ok I'll be an elf Druid (original I know) who is overly obsessed with trees (no i didn't get it from :durkon:) anyway, he loves any kind of tree and he is also really optimistic and happy
This is as far as I've gotten.
Are we starting with prestige classes because the order doesn't they get them along the way

You mean that we should report after each level up, to show you how it looks like... or is it simply a suggestion so we don't miss something?

Abilities- every 4 levels (4,8,12,16,20)

What are we using for feats?
3.5 - levels 3,6,9,12
PF - levels 3,5,7,9,11,13

And for skills...? (no easy way to explain differences here)

Alvarin Vend (http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=731493) - the Truesinger.
I need to choose equipment and write up fluff. Everything else should be ready.

As to role...
Goofball / Buttmonkey
As to mechanical role... a little bit of everything... except damage dealer.
In this order, I guess:
Heavy buffer/ Debuffer/ Party Face/ Healer
He can also quite easily finish many enemies after they are dropped below 68 hp, but I am not sure if there is a role for that...

Description: Alvarin is a tall man, with a huge sword... which wasn't used for years... but it does look nice! He has an amazing power. He can say WORDS. And they do THINGS. In his free time he likes to sing. A lot... and not always with a good timing.
He likes talking with people, he is good in this... and for some unknown reason they actually like him... unless they currently try to kill him...

You've got WAY too few skill points for Lv. 10, you might want to recalculate.Name (If any), Race Class Age Gender and Alignment (???? is acceptable value for all five of these fields, alignment listed must be satire of traditional alignment), Names of a few hypothetical Shtick cards, a couple sentence description of the character, an image, hexadecimal code for character's identifying color (Roy's is tan, Haley's is ginger, Durkon's is grey, Elan's is blue, V's is purple, Belkar's is green.), and what they say when the run out of wounds and have to flee the dungeon.

All information other than the image is optional, but most of it is required for me to make anything meaningful. The information given does not have to be exactly what's on your character sheet, if it fits the story better (or is funnier) w/ the alternate wording, then by all means give me that instead. If you can't/don't-want-to draw the character image yourself, give me a description and I'll do my best.Syn....er....gies?http://fc01.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2013/342/3/c/o_o_t_s_a_g__charcater_card__psi_phi_by_reality_gl itch-d6x7yps.png

Okay, I might have the perfect character for this, and it's my cohort from a previous year long game.

Squirrel (that's his nickname) is a half elf child who, due to a previous DM's penchant for epic magical occurrences has inherited immortality (which may or may not translate to the current setting.) He has a tendency to wander off and fall into rifts in the fabric of the planes which just happen to bring him to a party that needs a healer. Despite being only 11 years old, Squirrel has died and been raised at least twice in character, maybe more times off screen.

A precocious young boy with talent for magic, and capable of a healing output befitting a MMORPG style of combat, Squirrel is quite capable of contributing to the mechanical needs of an adventuring party. The fact that he is cursed with deafness and requires the aid of sign language, share language spells, and a telepathic familiar to communicate makes it easy for him to slip off into the sidelines while the more 'important' characters roleplay.
As a cohort, he is drawn to whomever has the highest charisma score, regardless of whether that person is an inspiring hero or a total jerk.

(Mechanically, Squirrel is an oracle (perhaps with sorcerer on the other side) who has the deafness curse, Life mystery, a familiar acquired through feats, and optimized use of the Paragon Surge spell.)

Yes. I think its opposite class should be a prepared caster with an important companion. The witch seems to fit the bill quite well. The rogue part is mostly to also have the same job in the party as that scout.

Well- I tried to get into the first game- and I've been lurking this thread trying to come up with an idea (don't want the dimensional traveler deal-ie, would try Thrall of Pelor but no Pelor in this campaign)

So I'll do a Kobold, because Kobolds are awesome. Besides- I have a sheep-ton of information about this one particular Tribe of Kobolds I draw from...

Family Names of the Pass and Go tribe of Kobolds and their most common predilections

Je : originally known for raising above average warriors, not exceptional, just- above average

Ji : Often Confused with the Je Clan by outsiders, Ji's warriors are exceptional

Ja : Generally not the brightest of the Kobold Gene Pool, but strong

Ki : usually known for arcane talent

Que : Strong Miners and Crafters

Qi : pyscologists, den mothers, and other 'caring' types

Ka : Known for their Archtechtural skills in trapmaking, engineering, and Demolitions

Lune : Occational Seers

Bark : Survivors of a Tyranical King; known for strange Culniary Talents; also furry (KAMB)

Yi : The Intellectual Thinkers and wise leaders

Xai : Occational Psionic Prowless

Fa : Artists, bards, and diplomats

La : Known for patience and Zen (Monk)

Fi : know for their pragmatic if not heartless ability to rationalize (also rogues)

Kli : known for gardeners and or mushroom harvesters

Rop : Known for exceptional strategists

Tedas : Known for exceptional Swimmers or sports athletes

Kin : Known for above average but not exceptional sorcerors, as Je is to Ji, Kin is to Ki

Thinking Sorceror//Druid but still need to figure out the personality before I actually come up with a specific build...

Are we not using the OotS Pantheon or are we assuming a more open pantheon?

That said, if Thrall of Pelor (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=298006) PrC is allowed would you rather see:

Loex Fi, the Child of Winter Kobold Druid/Master of Many Forms//Sorcerer (Draconic)

He's rather cold and unfeeling, morbid, and perhaps just a bit Emo.
He loves Dragons and Vermin and tending his dank little gardens...

or

Ro Qi, the Sorceror (Undead*) // Cleric/Thrall of Pelor

He's vibrant, and acts caring and warm but really wants to watch the world burn in the name of the sun.
*He of course is appalled by his own anathema state- so you know- self-loathing hipocrite ^_^

Okay, I finally got it all together now I need to finish the sheet.

Half-elf half-drow. Each side has dragon blood, and neither parent has thought to mention it until they realize their children have patches of scales on their arms/legs/torsos. Forestlord elf on father's side, Deepwyrm drow on the mother's.

Sorcerer/Favored Soul of Athe (http://www.smbc-comics.com/?id=798) (Click the red button :smallamused:) with spells from the Stars (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/cleric/domains/paizo---domains/void-domain/stars) (PF) and Time (3.5) domains, leading into Incantatrix and Rimefire Witch.

The Rimefire Eidolon to which he is bound is incessant in attempting to convert him to Hleid's employ, which is hard given his direct line to the god of the distinct lack of divine power.

He carries a holy symbol of Athe, which is technically just a cord around his neck with a loop on it with nothing attatched.

It's from a 3.5 supplement called Frostburn. it's a blue head with tentacles for hair which it uses to walk, made of condensed coldfire. It's a chunk of a god, which my character may or may not believe exists. I keep it in a bag.

... you usually take better skill progression in gestalt...

That's:
1st lvl - 8 + int x4 = 44
2 - 11
3 - 11
4 - 12
5 - 12
6 - 12
7 - 12
8 - 12
9 - 12
10 - 12
And so on
+ 10 from Nymph's Kiss.
= 160 ... I actually had too few skillpoints...

First things first, it's 2 plus intelligence modifier (x4 at first level). So you should actually have far less than that. If you've got an Int of 10, that's a +0 modifier meaning you get 2 points per level, sorry...:smallfrown:

Also Lexin, in terms of synergies, it isn't +2 per 5 ranks, it's a flat boost of +2 if you have 5 ranks.

Which means it's:
8 plus the 10 from Nymph's Kiss at 1st level
then 2 at each subsequent level (unless you manage to boost your int to at least 12, then it'd be 3).

Hey Glitch, also gotta correct you and agree with Lexin on the basic gestalt, it's pick better not average. Same with saves and BAB. You may be doing a different version, though.

P.S.
Easy way to remember your ability modifiers: Subtract 10, divide by 2, round down. This gives us:
3 & 4 = -4
5 & 6 = -3
7 & 8 = -2
8 & 9 = -1
10&11 = +0
12&13 = +1
14&15 = +2
16&17 = +3
18&19 = +4

Technically it's +2 for 5, another +2 for 24 (as in level 21 max ranks), then another +2 per 20 after that- but I doubt we'll get high enough for that to matter >.>

Just sayin'

Other than that you're totally on ball.

d'aah, I always forget the epic stuff.

Also Glitch, I worked out the race stats you wanted.

Grey Elf (1/2 wood elf, 1/2 drow):
M Humanoid (Elf)
BLS: 30 ft
STR: +2,+0 = +2
DEX: +2,+2 = +2
CON: -2,-2 = -2
INT: +2,-2 = +0
WIS: +0,+0 = +0
CHA: +2,-2 = +0
LLV to 60ft, DV to 120ft.
SLAs: 1/day-- Dancing lights, Darkness, Faerie Fire
Light sensitivity (halfbreed, less broken than Drow)
SR 6+CL (See previous)
+2 Will vs spells/spell-like (as Drow)
+2 to Listen, Search, & Spot; Sleep immunity; +2 vs Enchantment; (Std. Elf)
Proficient with: Longbows & Shortbows (as elves).
Also proficient with Spears, Short spears, Halberds, & Glaives (but not Longswords, Rapiers, etc.)
LA +1 (See "less broken" comment)

Only problem is the dragonblood janks some of this up. Will post modified racial skill boosts next.
Here're the Darkglade Elf/Half-Elf (Deepwyrm+Forestlord) racial tweaks:
Dragonblood subtype
SAs: 3/day-- Detect magic 1/day-- Disguise Self (Caster Lv = Character Lv)
Su: Treewalk 1/day @1-4, +1/day @ 5 & every further 5.
No Diplomacy or Gather Information bonus for halfies.
No Faerie Fire. No bonus vs. Enchantment.
Hide is a class skill, Bluff +2 racial.
Harming a green or deep dragon gets you a -1 to all attack rolls, saves, and caster level and you lose your Treewalk for 24 hours.

I know all of that. I don't know why you are directing this to me.

Just to be clear. This is my character. (http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=731493)
Because I don't have a faintest idea where did you get your numbers from...
It is 8 + Int mod, because Bard (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=201346) (half of my gestalt) gives 8+ skills per level...
Quoting:

Skill Points: 8+Int per level (x4 at first level)

Second, why do you think I have an Int of 10? ... just to get these skill points I have an Int of 18. That's +4 mod.

Seeing that my previous list wasn't enough:

Level 1 - ( class 8 + Int 3 ) x 4 +1 Nymph's Kiss = 45
Level 2 - ( class 8 + Int 3 ) +1 Nymph's Kiss = 12
Level 3 - ( class 8 + Int 3 ) +1 Nymph's Kiss = 12
Level 4 - ( class 8 + Int 4 ) +1 Nymph's Kiss = 13 (Int grows from 17 to 18 at this level, whence extra skillpoint from now on)
Level 5 - ( class 8 + Int 4 ) +1 Nymph's Kiss = 13
Level 6 - ( class 8 + Int 4 ) +1 Nymph's Kiss = 13
Level 7 - ( class 8 + Int 4 ) +1 Nymph's Kiss = 13
Level 8 - ( class 8 + Int 4 ) +1 Nymph's Kiss = 13
Level 9 - ( class 8 + Int 4 ) +1 Nymph's Kiss = 13
Level 10 - ( class 8 + Int 4 ) +1 Nymph's Kiss = 13

TOTAL = 160

Misc Skill Bonuses:

Perform (Sing) - +2 Nymph Kiss + 10 Magic Item + 2 Dragonsong Feat
Intimidate - +2 Nymph Kiss +2 Bluff Synergy +5 Magic Item
Truespeak - +5 Synergy (it gains +1 for every 2 languages known other than common) +3 Skill Focus Feat
Diplomacy - +2 Nymph's Kiss +2 Bluff Synergy +2 Sense Motive Synergy
Gather Information - +2 Nymph's Kiss +2 Kn: Local Synergy
Bluff - +2 Nymph's Kiss
Disguise - +2 Nymph's Kiss
Handle Animal - +2 Nymph's Kiss
Spellcraft - +2 Kn: Arcana Synergy
Use Magic Device - +2 Nymph's Kiss

I hope this (fianally) clears things out.

If you want me to change it, I can. But in that case expect my character to never participate in combat.
Whole Truenamer half of my gestalt character is based on my ability to meet DCs with Truenamer skills... If I don't meet the DC, my character just mumbles something and nothing happens. If you want my character to be useless, I can make him so.

Most of the crunch for Tiberius Lee (http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=733000), Hero of Justice and Destroyer of Ceilings When He Forgets Where He Is When He Transforms.

Name: Tiberius Lee
Race: Ultraman
Class: Kyodai//Sentai
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Alignment: Silly Good
Shtick cards: Talk To The Fist, Giant Size, The Power of Teamwork, Iron Heart Suuuuurge

Physical description: Relatively tall, with shaggy black hair and a tanned face. He typically wears tight fitting clothes in shades of green and black; on his waist is a thick belt with a prominent silver, circular buckle. When he transforms, his outfit is green with horizontal black stripes of varying widths. His head is covered in a green helmet with a black visor while in his suit.

General description: You'd be hard pressed to find a man that enjoys life more than Tiberius, although his wackiness may throw you of a bit. He tends to immerse himself in fights, becoming so excited that he provides his own sound effects and theme music. Although it takes a lot to do so, he can become serious when the situation calls for it.

That's all general stuff. Now, back to studying.

oh I just remembered a character concept I have for something like this:

ok, think a drow, who finds out he is good, but that when he reveals this, all of drow society just shrug and point him to the "Lone Outcast Store" where all they have on sale is Drizz't stuff, where the owner says they will give him a weeks time to get out of the city before they kill him. and all he really wants is to be good without being labeled another Drizz't stereotype. nevertheless he buys the Drizz't stuff just so that he has SOMETHING and because he knows that its better to be good, even if it means being labeled as an overdone knockoff-complete with a cute housecat that is nowhere near as good as an actual panther.

He then goes to the surface, gets into a fight with a human calling him a Drizz't stereotype- and loses since he is bad at fighting with two scimitars, which is impractical anyways. The human becomes his mentor and teaches how to wield swords properly- using only one and with precision. He cuts his hair short, and reinvents himself with things he bought from the surface- including a pair of sunglasses to keep out the sun from his eyes and searches out a group to try and find a way to be good....without being another Drizz't clone. The house cat won't stop following him though.

I'm thinking his class will be Bard.

is there still room or no?

Please forgive one last post:
(Sheets still aren't 100% done, but progressing nicely- I have a few other things to do tonight so it'll probably be tomorrow before they see 100% completion.)

Name: Loex Fi (http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=731921)
Race: Kobold
Class: Sorceror//Druid/Master of Many Forms
Age: 8
Gender: Male
Alignment: Gothic Neutral
Color: Silver?
Shtick Cards: Have a Cold Shower, Bringing Home a Baby Bumble Bee, Dungeon Redecoration Toolkit, Who's just a Kobold?, Death from Above
Flee: "No one Understands me!"

Physical Description: Loex is a fairly young-looking Kobold, slightly below average height, and remarkable silver scales, implying a distant Silver Dragon Heritage- which is rare, though not completely unheard of. He wears mostly greens, browns, and earthy looking clothes and armor. His armor is strangely enough- bright from the pale twilight glow it emits, slightly fuzzy from the beast skins the leather was roughly cured from, yet rather dingy like it's been dragged through the dirt for countless hours.

General Description: Loex because of his cold, Silver Dragon Heritage, is a bit of a recluse, he's not unsocial so much as unpracticed in the ways of social niceties given his social scorn among other Kobolds- which is tame compared to if he'd been raised just about anywhere else. Loex thus likes plants and vermin and things that 'accept him' for how he is.

Name: Ro Qi (http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=732891)
Race: Kobold
Class: Sorceror//Cleric/Thrall of Pelor/Radiant Servant of Pelor
Age: 13
Gender: F
Alignment: Tricksy Evil [Acts Motherly Good]
Color: Red?
Shtick Cards: Light of Pelor, Burning Love of Pelor, Mercy of Pelor, Wrath of Pelor
Flee: I see Darkness?

Physical Description: Ro is very tall for a female Kobold, something she is not remotely ashamed of. She has a few scattered red scales hailing back to her traditional Draconic Heritage natural to Kobolds. She also is a bit pale, though she does what she can to conceal that much.

General Description: Ro is a closet Pyromaniac. She acts warm and motherly and takes care of others, spouting the 'love' and the 'light' of Pelor with a private smirk. Really all of these things are euphemisms for Pelor's Burning Fires.

I thought you had posted a character, I'm sorry. As for who is GMing, I'd like to have it where we pass the duty between players, each one GMing one story arc (while running a character at the same time) then passing to the next. Alternatively, I could have it so one player from each party GM a different party.

Backstory:A mostly simple elf, born to an elven father and a Drow mother in an enclave of elves who were sick of other prejudiced a-hole elves and Drow who were likewise sick of other murderous jerkwad Drow.

His parents were both in for a shock when their twin boys Letrast and Teagan were born with scales at their wrists and ankles, and in patches on their torsos and backs. As it turned out, both husband and wife had dragonblood, and neither ever really felt it was worth mentioning until that point.

Teagan, who by twelve went by "Thor" (he got hit by lightning while doing carpentry in a thunderstorm ), became a scout and worked toward mastering his dragonfire bloodline and psionic power, while little Letrast became a frail sorcerer.

Due to an incident at a young age that left him without a player, he was mostly paralyzed from the waist up for the better part of a month.

The hopelessness of not being able to move his arms, :smallfrown: or turn his head, :smalleek: or focus his eyes :smallmad: brought forth from within him the powers of a Favored Soul of Athe, God of The Distinct Lack of Divinity.
He has since become a metamage and rimefire adept, and has a chunk of fragmented ice deity in his backpack.

Also, totally on track with the build.

I'll be honest, I hadn't realized that an Ultraman needed a host; I never saw the show, sadly. That could bring a few changes to my character's personality plans...hmm...

But the host is human. Maybe his Ultraman persona is a total jacka**, and he only transforms when he absolutely needs to because he doesn't like giving the Ultraman a chance to wreak havoc.

Style of Play: Order of the Stick plus Rule of Cool.
Allowed Content: Any Pathfinder of 3.5 book, homebrew (your's or someone else's) on request

Whichever numerical value outside of the special features (BAB, Fort, Ref Will, Power Points, Skill Points, Hit dice) is the highest is taken; all special features (Spells/Powers Per day/Known, separate pools of points (power, Essentia, Inspiration) and every thing else) stack.
But the host is human. Maybe his Ultraman persona is a total jacka**, and he only transforms when he absolutely needs to because he doesn't like giving the Ultraman a chance to wreak havoc.Does that Mean the Ultraman is the linear opposite and the host is the Power Ranger?

Also an O.o.t.s.-style Image is still needed of the host (If he is one the party's side) and the Ultraman (If he is on the party's side in a Belkar-sort-of-way, unless you're O.K. w/ me O.o.t.S.-ifying a pre-existant Ultraman). Either Provided by you or someone you commissioned (Including me).

Hrm. Now it's time to come up with an idea, if there's still potential space for the second party.

Are T.G. Oskar's Homebrew Fixes (see: http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showpost.php?p=9539457&postcount=83 ) potentially in play? I'm looking particularly at the Healer and Warlock.

I'd also like to ask about one of my own Homebrews that I've wanted to play since I wrote it but haven't been able to run: The Weaponshifter ( http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=255930 ). Specifically the Acquired variant (which is a +1 template). Not locked in on classes yet.

The picture's almost done, I just need one last thing before I can post them: What is the party's name going to be?

One neat thing about the Weaponshifter is I can set that after play begins. (Notice there is intentionally no onus on the Wielder besides the hour-long Linking ritual). If someone in Party Two likes the idea of your weapon being sentient, gimme your classes and I'll craft a Weapon Form to match up to you. (Thinking an Oskar!Healer or Warlock//Artificer - I'd need to craft a feat for infusing her own Weapon Form, but it'd be totally on-theme.)

So that you don't have to read the homebrew: Linking with my character means that my character can shapeshift into being your weapon. (One weapon form only, which would be a +5 total bonus at this level.) You count as having Proficiency, Weapon Focus, and Weapon Specialization with her, and if you have a touch or aura that'd cause her problems, the Link prevents that. She can still cast spells and take some other actions (but cannot move on her own).

(EDIT: After realizing how long this textwall is, I spoil-tagged it to shrink it a bunch. <<)

Character Premise Concepts so far:
* Slightly crazy Elven teenager. Warlock//Artificer. Inherited the whole Weaponshifter thing from her father. Obsessed with magic items and the fashion thereof, she went into magic item design school after realizing that the classic Elven travel cloak was only offered in a drab gray that didn't really match any outfit. Had a run-in with a succubus a few years ago... And made a simple deal: Unfathomable dark power in return for a long, detailed explanation as to why lime green boots of speed were highly detrimental to her ability to be a scheming corruptor. Insists on making her own just about everything (except cooking, which she is terrible at), as well as as much of her boyfriend/girlfriend's stuff as possible. (If they're going to wield her as a weapon, they're going to be as good-looking about it as she can arrange. Period.)
To evidence the scale of her neuroses: She has taken a powerful magical item, analyzed the hell out of it, then broken it down into its base components and spent ridiculous amounts of gold remaking it solely to adjust the hue slightly. The aforementioned Succubus was unable to use suggestion to get anything out of her because obeying anyone who dresses so terribly as to wear lime green boots of speed is against her nature.

Sub-optimizations could include but are not limited to: overinvestment in Craft skills and 'meh' choice of Invocations. Taking the Spell Thematics feat from the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting so that she can make the colors of all her spells and infusions line up with her mode of dress.

* More stable Human twenty-something. Healer//(Well I was thinking Artificer at first, but now I'm considering other classes.) Was raised from a young age to be a natural-grace Healer, after they were buffed the very year she was born with spontaneous casting and other benefits. Going into a second class was the first step in a grand-scale rebellion against her parents. Participating in mad-arcane experiments that led to her becoming a Weaponshifter was the second. And now she's dabbling in hipsterism on top, with a disdain for 'popular' magic items and a dispreference for speaking in Common. Aquan is the language the cool people stick to right now, though no human-speakable language beats Abyssal for precision swearing.

In spite of this, she still is very good at the healing arts, and is overall a gentle (if snarky) soul... Until she switches to her Weapon Form, and a side effect of the experiments causes her to suddenly go hyperaggressive, encouraging her wielder to bathe her in the blood of their enemies and laughing maniacally even as she heals and infuses her allies. (I am picturing a Greatsword, Greataxe, Orc Double-Axe, or some other massive Weapon Form that contrasts heavily against her normal-to-slight typical build.)

Sub-optimizations could include: Trying to optimize Healer (Oskar's healer is good as-is and rather hard to honestly make better with feat choices and such).

So which one's the party member and which one's the linear opposite?

... Dang. Neither's quite an opposite to the other. Gotta think on that some.

After realizing that I would hate playing a full-on Hipster, I think I'm going to go with the Urban Fashionista Warlock//Artificer, with conceptual party and comedic roles:
* Combat Damage (both directly - Eldritch Blast - and indirectly - she turns into a weapon that someone else can Wreck Things with. Note that the way Weaponshifting works, she can do both at the same time.)
* Supplier Of Magical Goods (just be prepared to take time to be measured so the fit's perfect. This whole "Works if you're Medium or Small" thing isn't precise enough for her.)
* Aside Ranting/Additional Fourth Wall Piercing. Anachronistic devices keep popping up when she's making skill checks, with no one really questioning it. A possible magic item might be a Appdroid Phone, which can store wands and the like as apps she can use.
* The Romantic Partnership, ideally.

Her Linear Guild opposite got his Warlock-ness the direct way - a cleanly-organized pact with a highly fashionable devil - and if he's Gestalt, has Wizard instead of Artificer as his secondary class, with a Spiked Chain Weapon Form. His ideal partner would be the Linear Guild opposite of her partner, and he himself intentionally dresses horrifically unfashionably just to screw with her.

EDIT: Came up with the tentative name Rin Faccione for the main character. Not sure about the counterpart, though a vaguely-Italian-sounding pun seems ideal.

Detail Block:
Picture: (TBD)
Name: Rin Faccione
Race: Weaponshifter High Elf (that is, the PHB Elf)
Class: (Weaponshifter LA) 1 / Warlock 9 // Artificer 10
Age: 96

Both, add them together.

... That doesn't make a lot of sense, since Pathfinder merges a bunch of skills together in various ways.

Or do you simply mean "The Pathfinder list, and any skill that doesn't exist in Pathfinder, such as Martial Lore, gets added in?"

Also, for dealing with Craft Points from level 1-9, what should I do?

(Convenient reminder of how they work inside.)
For a quick reminder, Craft Points are stocks of 'XP' usable only for crafting items. Each time you gain a level, you lose them if you haven't used them. So if I can pay the XP cost of an item - that's 1/25th the base gold cost - I can get the item at half-off by crafting it if I have the right feat.
The stocks, by level:
20 - can only use on Scrolls
40 - can now also use on Potions
60 - can now also use on Wondrous Items
80 - can now also use on Homunculi
100 - can now also use on Magic Arms And Armor
150
200 - can now also use on wands
250
300 - can now also use on rods
400 - this is the current stock at 10th level

This one's your judgment. A common solution I've seen is assuming half of past craft points went to resources now expended.

Craft points are a key feature of the Artificer class and are not quite like the Craft Points variant found in Unearthed Arcana, to be clear. I wouldn't be asking about them otherwise.

EDIT: Made a mistake when describing - the resource is called Craft Reserve, not Craft Points.

And now I have to decide Rin's weapon form.

The iconic 'fashion weapons' worn by nobles who never expected to use them would be a saber or rapier, so either would definitely be fitting. From a narrative-meshing standpoint, it'd depend on the class of her primary wielder, as well, though. So I need a volunteer for that.

Never trust Rin to lead anything. Ever. Just a good rule of thumb.

EDIT: Another DM question. In the Eberron Campaign Setting, Action Points are an assumption - and they're required for the Artificer's Rapid Infusion class ability (which is what lets them cast infusions in a short cast time). Normally, Action Points are not the norm in play-by-post gameplay - and providing them isn't a good solution if you're not planning to already. A solution I have seen suggested is allowing a small number of Rapid Infusions per day (3 or CHA mod are examples I have seen).

EDIT2: It's fun thinking in terms of 'useful, but not optimized'. It means I can take feats that are contextually useless for my character if they're in keeping with the character's obsessions and issues. :D

There's still plenty of open space in group two, yeah?

Since Rin seems to be absorbing the magey arrogance niche, I was thinking of going for a more straightforward melee-based character. I also kind of want to emulate Roy's and Elan's penchants for using underpowered core classes.

So a few concepts:
A half-elf monk/rogue who explores the, "two worlds," theme that Rich knew he wouldn't have to deal with. Though kind of a goofy mechanic on its own, having one pointy ear gives the opportunity to clearly show which side one's showing at a given moment with clever headband or bandana placement.

Alternately: a bugbear! Because OOTS bugbears are adorable, and to help offset the specter of multi-ability dependency. Also allows for interesting story interaction with the general plot of Goblins trying to get their act together. A bugbear might also be interesting as a tracker or paladin.

The Nymph: I almost discarded this idea, but something like a Druid/Oracle would be straightforward enough to fill Durkon's narrative and mechanical roles in the party despite being his exact opposite in most other ways. Probably wouldn't actually end up as a Nymph, though, unless I use the homebrew class for it that someone here made up, which feels kind of outside the spirit of the setting. (Unless the phrase, "But I'm a homebrew PC Nymph! It doesn't work like that for me!" is somehow amusing to you.)

Any preference?

Tomas was an average child, in a village. He loved to read, but didn't plan on living the life of an adventurer. He figured he'd take a few levels of commoner, and maybe multiclass into expert, taking knowledge(Books) and profession(librarian), as he loved to spend time at the local library. One day, as he searched the shelves for something he had not yet read, he happened across a largish rectangular book, emblazoned with a sword across the front, and the strange words:Dungeons and Dragons, Players Handbook., as the title. Nevertheless, he asked the librarian if he could have it, and when she said yes, he sat down then and there and read it cover to cover. And he began to notice something strange. The book detailed a game. The game seemed to imitate the laws of his world exactly. Excited, he ran home, and that night, as he slept, book clasped to his chest, he was visited by a pair of apparitions, who were entitled Gary Gygax, and Dave Arneson. They spoke to him of a great game, which the entire universe was a part of. They imparted knowledge of the holy Tomes, the rulebooks by which reality was governed. And as they spoke, others appeared behind them: Skip Williams, Monte Cook, and many more. And when Tomas awoke, he did something no one had done for many years in the village. He took a Pc, class, the Archivist. He did not remain in the village much longer, and so, guided by the ghostly spirits of the game makers, he set out to find the rest of the Holy Tomes of the Game. He had found almost all, when in his dreams, the spirits spoke. In a voice majestic, they chorused together:Change is coming. The laws are remade. A new edition is upon us. But not for you, Tomas. You shall not join this change. Rather, you shall remain, to remind others of editions past, and to pave the way for future games.
And change did come. The laws of the world rewrote themselves. The age of Pathfinder has descended upon the multiverse. And Tomas, his guides vanished, strides the world, searching for knowledge of the great Game, of how this all has come to pass. Will he succeed in his quest? Only time, and the Roll of the Dice, will tell...

Tomas Bookfinder, as he calls himself ( his real last name is Dubless, but that's not nearly as cool as Bookfinder ) is a tallish young human man(about 25 or so) with shortish brown hair, blue eyes, and glasses. He carries a staff with a D20 for a head, and is always acompanied by sourcebooks and character sheets(he keeps one for each party member, and freaks out if he loses one of the sheets or his books, which he is very protective of.)

Anyone martial who uses a weapon as their centerpoint (remember, she becomes your weapon thanks to her template) is a mechanical fit - I'd theorize that classes like Swordsage and Swashbuckler would be ideal, though any 'flashy' style could work neatly (a flanking-heavy Rogue for example). Monk would be a tougher fit due to the limited array of Monk Weapons (unless we houserule around that), and also because of the presumption of Lawful alignment for them (which would be against a CN character with some serious respect issues).

Show me what you want and I'll see.

The idea that raised the question: Nymph Paladin

The idea would be that one of the fey gets called upon to serve one of the more nature-oriented gods. Probably Freya; she's probably the one that made sure Nymphs got included in the world as elusive forest-dwelling sapients instead of whatever Pig may have had in mind for them. The general shtick would be similar to Durkon; a divine imperative prevents them from returning to ancestral homes where they were kind of wet blankets in the first place. She would also have to think of increasingly creative ways of advancing her spellcasting since the actual Druid order does not accept Lawful Good applicants, which seems entertaining; that's what tipped this over the edge for me.

The main problem with this is that Nymphs have, like, a huge level adjustment - enough to kick the ECL over tenth level. There are a few ways around this:

A: The original monster class (which I can't seem to find),

B: The toned-down 7-level monster class (which is here (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=182724)) and...

C: Putting the level-adjusted and HD levels in parallel, so that her first seven gestalt levels look like this:

1: Fey HD / Nymph LA
2: Fey HD / Nymph LA
3: Fey HD / Nymph LA
4: Fey HD / Nymph LA
5: Fey HD / Nymph LA
6: Fey HD / Nymph LA
7: Paladin / Nymph LA

The last one makes the most sense to me, since it represents becoming a paladin after reaching maturity and seemingly mimics whatever the heck Sabine was doing.

...or I could do the Monk/Rogue, or something else depending on what Party Two actually needs at this stage. I've only seen the characters for NekoInc. (artifashion), Gem Knight (X-Kobold) and D20ragon (Booky mcbookerson), so a melee-er, healer and tracker still seem to be in order.

The monster Class doesn't have HD, where did you get them from?

I'm afraid I don't understand the question. Which monster class are you talking about?

In the version of the class that I linked to, the HD are incorporated into the class; she'd end up as a paladin 10 / Nymph 7 / some silly prestige class 3.

In the version that I stretched out, it's taking the literal rules in the monster manual where she she has to add in both her HD and her LA to get her level, but takes advantage of the fact that the gestalt rules never say they all have to go in one row. In the end, she'd effectively be a Nymph 13 / Paladin 4 / prestige class 3.

I think I get it now, what prestige class are you taking?

When I first wrote that, I honestly didn't know. Just, "some dumb thing that gives you levels in your divine spellcasting class." The idea of her having to take one that is completely useless in every other way was amusing, so I was fine leaving it at that.

I have since tripped over Divine Scion (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/prestige-classes/other-paizo/c-d/divine-scion), though, so we could just use that.

hm......

well Valdor is doing things partly because he wants to be good, and partly to not be another Drizz't clone.

good for the sake of good strikes me as either a very white or green motivation.

to do this to not just be another Drizz't clone strikes me as a more of a black or red motivation.

so there a few combinations possible:

White/black
white/red
green/black
green/red

but, lets add in the bard class, which is all about storytelling and emotion. this tilts him more towards red in ways. so probably red- he is sociable, talkative, emotive, and gets angry when insulted about being Drizz't clone.

question is, white or green? well, he is working towards an ideal- the ideal of being good without being a Drizz't clone, and trying to live towards an ideal strikes me as very white, because green isn't about ideals or trying to live up to anything, its about doing what you naturally do.

so I'm thinking Valdor is white/red.

I will go with Red/White
With a lot of Red and a bit of White... if I were to add another secondary... I think it would be Black... but that is almost crazy ...

Quick question while I work on this: You did say we were using rules from pathfinder, yeah? At least, I think that's what 3.p means. But you also said that Hide and Move silently were still separate, as with the rest of 3.5.

Are listen, spot and search all still separate as well, then? What about feats and class features that refer to perception? Do I just pick a skill for those to apply to?

EDIT: A wild character appears!

Ungaven
U/G Bugbear Monk 10/Rogue 6

Story Time!Once upon a time, a Sapphire Guard unit was dispatched to cut down a religious goblinoid camp known to be the center of a number of banditry reports and suspected to hold something called a crimson mantle. They fulfilled their duty admirably, but had little to show for it by the time they had sliced up every creature with the ability to stand up to them or to try to cover for their supreme leader; in the end, they discovered that most of the pleading had just been about a few small children who happened to be around.

While they would receive all manner of praise for technically putting an end to the bandit raids, the paladins still felt like crap. They did the best thing they could think of to soften the damage and enrolled the captured kids in a series of military schools, because they're paladins and that's what they consider a good upbringing.

All things considered, Ungaven got the long end of this short stick. While a number of the peers she had picked on as infants grew up to be freelance goblin ninjas or sword-smithing second-class citizens taking mercenary jobs just to get as far from Azure City as possible, the secluded monastery that the big girl got shoved off to was contemplative, accepting, and in no way downplayed the plight of the goblins as they fostered her personal growth.

Still, Ungaven's ingrained with the instinct to do what she can get away with, sneaking extra food, not doing her calisthenics or homework, and reading Julio Soundrél comics under the covers. You can still enjoy things even if they're problematic, and Julio had the distinct style of never using deadly force on a living creature. If only all would-be heroes showed as much restraint.

She vowed to make sure that someone like her winds up with her face on bubblegum wrappers one day.

Ultimately, she couldn't stay at the monastery permanently like some of her classmates. The humans weren't bad people, but they were ineffectual idiots who spend all day trying to derive prophecies from a frankly obnoxious white dragon. Also it was freakin' cold. She had to order a custom scarf from a warlock-artificer just to get out of the compound.

She has since made the rounds, wandering the world trying to find ways to ensure no more goblins get massacred - particularly by investigating the crimes that nobody else seems to bother with. It's been slow going, but she's accrued a few magic items from adventurers who confused her crusade with blackmail.

You're supposed to have a myth-weavers sheets.

Okay, sure. But is it okay other than that? It'll take a while to transpose and I want to make sure it checks out first.

Unless you can give me a good enough argument why Yellow and/or Brown should be added to the color wheel, you'll have to drop them.

She's yellow and brown because she's a bugbear (http://oots.wikia.com/wiki/File:Bugbear.png)! That's a joke, son. Went right past ya! Gotta keep on yer toes! [/Foghorn Leghorn Voice]

Anyway, here's the completed sheet (http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=743831), with a few corrections.

She's blue/green because she's all about incrementally bettering herself and the world, but isn't particularly dedicated to one society or another.

The character sheet has to be completely serious, the alignment given for game card can be a parody of the traditional D&D alignments.
