Okay, so here's the deal.

I'm GM-ing an E6 Pathfinder campaign in about two weeks. Now, normally I'd use Kalamar or Hyrule, but we've been overusing those quite a bit.

So here's the catch. I'm making a setting where all the PC's play leshies (from the Bestiary 3). Don't close the thread, there's more. Basically, it's centuries after the humans died out, leaving behind only clockwork ruins in a vast forest dominated by mutants and magic. Some of the setting is non-forest, such as the Thunder Plains (a northern desert), the Great Stones (the mountains), and the Bleak Lands (a marsh by the southern sea). None of the monsters should seem even vaguely human, and the animals are usually very far from those found on Earth.

But, what I need is this: world details and racial stats. And I need it quickly. Help?

Also, the theme: It's supposed to be a light-hearted, epic adventure setting. Not dark fantasy or grunge this time. So, you know... no eldritch horrors or anything too much. Saving those for nocturnal creatures and creatures close to the ruins.

Hmmmm, this sounds interesting, though I think that there are some odd bits about your request.

Asking to keep it light-hearted, but really that's something for the movies. Here I'm seeing like a Nausicaa world, or a Journey world, or even something like Secret of the Kells. I like these sorts of themes, but that part is really up to you. Flavor text for areas can only go so far, it's really more a job for ambient music and art direction.

Though of course now that I've typed that I get the epiphany that if that race likes the world they live in then have the history and land descriptions or whatever written from their point of view and then it will sound more upbeat.

More later

Thanks.

Anyways, I was going to say that I have no idea what the references are. Are those books, RPG's, video games...? No idea.

Also, I am not an efficient artist, though the art in it would bring out the theme. I'm self-taught, and, though I am pretty good at drawings and sketches, I take forever to finish them. And... well, leshies are not in my comfort zone for drawing. Admittedly, I suck at drawing them.

Ah, cannot do a huge response right now, but I can link you to those references

Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (http://www.drunkenthieves.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/Nausicaa-9.jpg) - A wonderful film by Hayao Miyazaki. Maybe a little dark for what you are describing, but I was reminded.

Journey (http://cdn0.sbnation.com/imported_assets/1225147/journey-game-screenshot-9-b.jpg) or Journey (http://blogs-images.forbes.com/erikkain/files/2012/12/Journey-Screen-Seven.jpg) - a video game based of the Hero's Journey cycle, which reminded me aesthetically of what you described.

Secret of the Kells (http://www.livlily.com/images/livlily_production_art/secret_of_kells/production_design/backgrounds/forest/secret_of_kells_art_background_32.jpg) or Secret of the Kells (http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2012/118/2/1/secret_of_the_kells_inspired_by_jtown67-d4xwdff.jpg) - A great movie about...well a lot of things really. Interesting aesthetics for making the world seem huge and wondrous.

I recommend all these things highly, especially the movies, though the game is also good. I think the last two might be the closest to what you were looking for from an aesthetics point of view, for bright and wondrous and such. Hope I'm helping

That does seem similar to my original idea. Also, I'll have to look into those movies.
