Hey! How, -man, these pretzels suck- how's your day been buddy? We haven't really talked much since I left you for dead. Hey, you think you'll make a Borderlands 2 thread III? Naw, probably not. Borderlands 3 will release first. My day? Been pretty good. Just posted a Ponythread made out of diamonds. Yeah, because I'm rich. So you know. That's cool. Kay, bye.

Borderlands 2 Thread

This thread is all about Borderlands 2, where everybody can discuss tactics, show off favorite guns, share skill builds, or band together to fight the forces of Handsome Jack.

Gun question; are there sniper rifles with "fires as fast as you can pull the trigger"?
I've seen other weapon types(mainly pistols) with both sniper-zoom and fast firing.. But no sniper rifles with it yet.

Sadly, Jakobs sniper rifles don't have that trait. The only rapid fire snipers are from Vladof, I think.

Jakobs weapons usually have it, but their sniper rifles are an exception, so no.

Dahl and Vladof would probably come the closest to that, but in each case, it's more a matter of how quickly the gun can fire, and not how quickly you click.

Darn..
In that case.. Is it worth using a Jakobs pistol, or some other weapon with a decent magazine size, with zoom in place of a sniper rifle?

Depends on the weapon but usually I would say no because of the Crit damage Multiplier that all Sniper riffles have by default that often is boosted.

I will say that Hyperion SMGs with a zoom turn into funny sniper weapons if the mag size is over 25. But the single shot damage with crit multipler is usually a lot lower.

I suppose I have to ask what you want to do with this gun. If you want lots of dps over long ranges, get a Vladof assault or sniper rifle. If you want something to be a stopgap sniper rifle, Jakobs pistols will do the trick.

For the longest time, my Zer0 had a Jakobs Longarm. Great for taking out lower level threats and when the zoom of a sniper rifle would only get in the way. And the fact that it could empty its eleven round cylinder into someone's face in less than a second was always a plus.

A couple of weeks ago I started up Borderlands 2 again with intention of finally finishing it. (I initially got it on release, but never got past level 25 for various reasons - Gaige got released so I class-hopped, then something else came out, and so on...) Finally took down the boss a few days back, and have been slowly working my way through the various DLCs since. Though it's been a bit tedious so far, since I'm still on Normal mode and all the enemies are capped at level ~30 or so, while I'm level 35 now. Game's still fun though (and amusing. Mostly amusing).

I play anarchy Gaige, am currently level 35, my Steam name is the same as it is here, and this (http://steamcommunity.com/id/KerisRain) is a direct link to my profile since there are apparently several dozen people on steam who've got the same name as me. Rassen-frassen name stealing sassen-drassens...

Hey guys, tomorrow at about 1:00 PM GMT -6, I'm going to start my #1life2live (http://forums.gearboxsoftware.com/showthread.php?t=346717) Borderlands 2 run, which is basically a community Hardcore. I'll be starting out as Krieg, but if I die and if anyone wants it, I'll make an attempt with some of the other Vault Hunters as well.
My Twitch (http://www.twitch.tv/nintenes) channel is here, so you can join in and bet how quickly it takes for me to die cheer me on.

Hmm... I had uninstalled the game a few weeks ago, but I might revisit it again. Maybe try out Mordecai, Brick was the only one I've played as.

Ok, I tried googling but I didn't get good results. Raid bosses in normal mode have difficulties ranging from 30 to 50. Which of these are actually soloable? For example, could I solo level 30 raid boss with level 40 character? And more, is there point in doing them in normal mode at all, should I just grind further and play Ultimate Vault Hunter mode?

Soloing strategies for the most part are somewhat similar to each other, but some of the Vault Hunters have have an easier time with one boss than others (for example, Bloodlust-focused Krieg v. Pyrocaustic Pete (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-cX1e1RMm8), Zer0 with B0re v. Hyperious (insert WILL IT BORE? video here. (http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLJ0Gk7kg-Hbx7lb_XEB87etJKZIuEW8BA)))
The only point to fighting the Raid Bosses in normal is the massive pile of loot, and the chance to get some legendaries. Otherwise, might as well do it in UVHM, so they'll also drop Seraph crystals so you can get some of the worthwhile seraphs like the Seraphim, Crossfire, Florentine.

As well as Bloodlust, a Mania focused Krieg can also handle Pyrocaustic Pete, provided you have Release the Beast and enough of his various Melee damage boosts, combined with some reasonably easy method of chipping away at his freaking shield first(I like a Slag Kitten, meself. It keeps my health high while I'm reducing his shield, and it also does the benefit of doubling any damage I do, which is a great bonus.)

As for the rats and spiderants, you shouldn't need to summon them until Pete is pretty low on health to begin with(I.E. When his constant burn and acid effects on you become really potent), which will keep them weak enough to be used as a source of Second Winds.

As well as Bloodlust, a Mania focused Krieg can also handle Pyrocaustic Pete [...]Of course, anything can handle Pete, given enough time and the Magic Piece of Invincible Scrap Metal. The sheet metal across one side of the scaffolding in the northeast corner blocks the DoT Nova. There's enough time between novas to hit both dispensers and shoot Pete a couple (dozen) times. Go nuts.

Thanks peeps. I think I'll go after them when I have leveled Krieg. My Zer0 is specced for Bloodshed rather then Sniping because preferences, but I might as well try respeccing since it's cheap.

So I haven't played BL for a bit, and decided to muck around again on it. Just wondering, though ... was thinking it might be fun to have a casual play through with a couple others. Nothing serious, no worries on trying to maximize loot or time or such ...

I've never finished it, and not that skilled myself, so wouldn't want to bore the "pro" players ;)

I don't have a Steam account, so would probably look at trying to get things working via Hamachi?

What are the odds on getting a Casual SWORDSPLOSION!!! as opposed to any other variant? Because I've alt-tabbed out and restarted like 20 times now in my UVHM Zer0 with no luck, having seen Sinewy, Impetuous, Potent, and Juicy versions over and over. :smallannoyed:

EDIT: frickin finally got one.

Yeah, sure. I'd enjoy that, and I think that Geno said something about being willing.

I'd be up for some casual co-op. I've only made it to about level 12 in Borderlands 2.

My steam profile should be thrawn183. Or "Oops", as that's what I've been going under recently. I do so little with steam I'm not really sure how the whole friends function works.
