I am currently planning on playing a psion / psion swiftblade (homebrew) gish-ish character. The character concept is based around mobility, teleportation, and other kinds of swiftness-oriented shenanigans.

For obvious reasons Dex will be my main stat, but I don't know much about melee characters. What feats should I be sure to get so that Dex works as a main stat?

Also, if anyone has inputs on anything else (spell recommendations, other feats) for this kind of character, please let me know, I mostly only have access to the SRD!

I suggest getting at least 13 str for Power Attack and getting either a Spiked Chain or an Elven Courtblade, so you can finesse it while still being able to get 2:1 returns on PA; that should be enough damage to be useful even before we take into account your powers.

Having said that, why do you want to go Psionic swiftblade? Many of it's main class features can be done with powers alone.

Perpetual option? Synchronicity Linked* to Hustle get's you a move & standard action for the low price of 6 PP every other round.

Inerverted Speed? You get it at manifester level 11, (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/powers/temporalAcceleration.htm) 5 whole levels before a swiftblade would.

Blurred Alacrity? Greater Concealing Amorpha (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/powers/temporalAcceleration.htm) is better in every way, do note that having total concealment means they can't target you. Period.

Dilegent Rapidity? Body Equilibrium (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/powers/bodyEquilibrium.htm)+http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/powers/freedomofMovementPsionic.htm

The only class feature which is exclusive to the Swiftblade is the Fortified Hustle, which I agree it is awesome, but not that critical IMO, There are many ways to protect yourself against Dispels, though getting caught in a AM/PF would suck.

*Linked Power is a Metapsionic feat which allows you to cast powers at no action cost by delaying them one round.

Do you have access to online material? Because this Mind's Eye article (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/psm/20031225a) has some really great material.
Reliable recharging contingent buffing is awesome.

I would definitely ask your DM if they'll allow you manifesting control body (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/powers/controlBody.htm) on yourself to get INT-to-AC-damage-and-to-hit.

I think that the swiftblade intrigues me. Although you can copy those powers with powers, swiftblade makes them inherent and flavorful.

Thanks for the post about weapons, that is something I will have to consider.

Anything else I should consider?
