Hi,
Referring to the Black Blade of Disaster spell found in the Spell Compenium, link here. http://dndtools.eu/spells/spell-compendium--86/black-blade-disaster--3532/
For my character, I would really love for them to be able to create the Black Blade of Disaster, but have them safely hold it and use it effectively as a melee weapon.
It's going to involve some discussion with my DM, of course - I'm just after some advice on a reasonable, balanced way of doing this to present to him.
For example, the spell allows the blade to make a single melee touch attack per round, using primary spellcasting stat bonus in addition to bab.
A normal melee weapon would make iterative melee attacks, using strength modifer in addiction to bab.
What might be a fair way of doing this? Because performing a Greater Insightful Strike with a Black Planar Rift would certainly amuse me.
