Updating this spell/creature to 3.5 by RAW

The Minor Servitor spell from Savage Species is 3.0 material. As such it has some weirdness when using it with 3.5 material.

My question is, what needs done to update it to 3.5 while losing as little of it's RAW as possible?

If I'm reading the spell correctly then as written Minor Servitors get more HD per size category than 3.5 Animated Objects do. I think.

Any takers? I'm kinda just looking for clarification here. I know the simpler thing to do is to follow the RAI and just use Animated Objects but I think there's a HD discrepancy and I want to use the RAW of the 3.0 spell as much as possible.
