Next semester some friends of mine are playing on starting a new campaign and thus I've been hypothesizing character concepts for awhile now. I stumbled across this (http://community.wizards.com/forum/previous-editions-general/threads/1078216) recently, a list of all the playable races in the game without a level adjustment. Fauns really stuck out to me and I want to play one now but unfortunately they're not well defined in the book they come from. (Deities and Demigods) It says nothing about their age, racial ability adjustments, etc.
Is there any way to definitively figure this out?

A faun's ability adjustments can be discerned from it's stat block - subtract 10 from even scores and 11 from odd scores to get modifiers: +2 DEX, -2 WIS, -2 CHA.

Also from the stat block: 30 foot movement; low light vision; musical ability; musical resistance; +2 racial bonus on Hide, Move Silently, Survival (formerly Wilderness Lore in 3.0); +4 racial bonus to Perform check involving flutes or pipes; favored class: Bard.

In terms of age categories, height, weight etc. no info is given, so I'd suggest using stats similar to a Duskling (MoI p.18) or Kiloren (RotW, p.106) which are, AFAIK, the only playable fey races with all of these stats present.

The stats aren't all that impressive. They would get a +2 Dex and a -2 Wis/Cha. Considering that Bard is their favored class, I can't understand how they justify a negative Charisma.
The way you figure out ability score bonus/penalty is assume a base of 10 or 11 and check for the difference. Ability score bonus/penalties are always even.

I made a satyr race and some associated racial feats.

The penalty to Charisma is really odd, Waker. Although, I don't plan on making my Faun a Bard regardless. I've played one twice in a row already; I think I need a break.
But anyways, thanks for the information. I'm pretty sure I have enough now to figure the character out.
