Is there anyway to give a longspear the following:

Ability to monk flurry of blows

Count as a light weapon for weapon finesse purposes?

Thanks!

For Flurrying you can take the Pole Fighter feat from Dragon Mag #331. You could put the Aptitude enchantment on the spear so that it counts as something finessable.

Take a few levels of drunken master and change longspear to 20ft ladder.

Serpent Strike from Eberron Campaign Setting will make it count as a monk weapon, letting you flurry with it.

I know of no way to make it count as light, however. (A shortspear could be made feycraft to count as light, but not a longspear.)

An Elf only feat lets you take Companion Guard Style (Dragon #315, IIRC), which lets you Finesse them, while the Serpent Strike Feat (ECS) lets you treat the Longspear as a special monk weapon, and hence flurry-able.

Just found it;

Benefit: When fighting with a longsword or longspear, you may use your Dexterity modifier instead of your Strength modifier on attack rolls. If you use a shield, its armor check penalty applies to your attack rolls. Additionally, you gain a +2 bonus on attack rolls made to confirm a critical hit with any bow.

It is still Power Attackable, as it's still two handed, not Light, but it doesn't count for Finesse purposes; but it might be worth asking if that's allowed; it's 3.0 Dragon IIRC, and so system mastery wasn't a big thing.
