Ok guys I might actually play this guy in a game soon! I want to be the biggest illusion wizard on the planet! So in order to do that Iw ill need a few things.

Like the AEG Feat book! This (sometimes) broken piece of deliciousness will let me do some very fun things!

Mainly I need two feats out of it.

Fey blood and Fey magic.

Now My stats are awesome 12,16,16,18,13,17 Which is probably how they will go.

Str 12
Dex 16
Con 16
Int 18
Wis 13
Cha 17

I need a 17+ cha for fey blood which is a bloodgift feat that allows me to use my highest stat for spells known and bonus spells for all casting classes and adds +1 to the DC of all of my spells. I know it doesn't sound like much but when you take into account

Fey Magic - All my spells are now Illusion (Glamer) spells in addition to their other types, and all saves now now Will disbelief. So if you pass the save for my fireball you now ignore like you have evasion woohoo!

Oh and it adds +4 to all of my save DCs.

So we take human with two flaws and take these feats
Fey blood +1
Fey Magic +4
Spell focus (evocation jk Illusion)(oh and the group I play with has these at +2 and +4)
Precocious Apprentice (Invisibility)

And at 3rd level I take my 1st level in Master Specialist!!!!

So at 12th level I am full casting with concealment, a total of (+1 Fey blood, +4 Fey Magic, +4 greater spell focus, +2 Esoterica + 6-7 intelligence (At least) +17 to +18 to my save DCs for a grand total of 29 on my first level spells!

I plan to ban enchantment, necromancy, and abjuration.

So what do you guys think?

I have a soft spot for illusionists, so I hope you have fun with one.

The only thing I would change is keeping abjuration, and banning evocation instead. I feel that abjuration has far too many useful spells compared to evocation. Conjuration can provide the crowd control and damaging spells tht banning evocation would lose.

I also recommend looking at Shadowcraft Mage, depending on if your fellow party mates are optimizing as well. It is also my favorite PrC by far, so I wanna at least mention it.

Happy hunting!

Especially since you should be casting shadow evocation that can duplicate most evocation spells. Sending comes to mind, one of the few evocation spells that I would miss.

I was about to protest giving up necromancy but that's because it has some great debuffs with no saving throws. Then I realized all your spells will have saving throws anyway so it's not as nice for you.

Questions: Does it add a Will (Disbelief) save to spells that already allow no saving throw? Does it give all of your spells SR: Yes?

The crappy part of this is objects automatically succeed at their will saves, and it makes all of your spells mind-affecting. If you need to affect an object (or just zombie or construct) you're about as useful as a commoner. I'm not sure if the +4 to save DCs is quite worth that.

Not all Illusion spells are mind affecting - it's possible to affect mindless creatures with some illusions.

Also, ideally you want to be a gnome not a human, for access to the Shadowcraft Mage PrC from Races of Stone. You also want to take a look at the Shadowcrafter PrC from Underdark.

For example, most figments, most glamers, and most shadows. :smallwink:

it doesn't say that it changes them to mind affecting just adds illusion glamer in addition to its other types. I make skeletons think they got exploded by a fireball and therefore they die.

Here is the relevant text from the feat.

All spells you cast are considered Illusion (Glamer) spells in addition to any other spell type. Non-fey creatures targeted by your spells make saving throws (if any) as willpower saves.

Greater Spell Focus gives a total of +2, not +4

We play at +2 and +4 like 3.0. I understand that in 3.5 it is +1 and +2.
