This is just the intro. Details to follow, but I was told to brainstorm on a solo character for a one-shot/short crawl and I just want it to be fun.

Minimal Min/Max, not even sure what level but I'm shooting for Level 8-10. And I specifically want to specialize with the Heavy Repeating Crossbow, just for style! I'll have to make the survivability work so I'm just opening the floor for brainstorming.

Ideas for class only so far are:

Rogue - "Sniper"
Inquisitor - "Free Proficiency & Some Casting"
Bard - Casting and Skills

Okay...GO! :elan:

I'd say Inquisitor personally. Good Skills, Spells from a decent list, Auto Bane weapons, if it's solo work you can swap teamwork feats out for some situational bonuses I believe. The big bonus is you don't have to sing........

I like the ranger, although it is weaker than the inquisitor in most ways. Go for a Skirmisher+Infiltrator and hunt only for your favored enemies. Inquisitors are more flexible and more powerful overall, optimized or not optimized.

Inquisitor 200%: Judgement&Bane, great spell list (Litany of Sloth!!)
Check out the archetypes, I really like Heretic and it works together with most others.

Side note: My Stepson just gave me a mid level one shot for Christmas! 10th level. Woodland setting, maybe some caves or dungeons. Most importantly, it's solo. Ranger, Scout, Druid, or nature centric Cleric?:durkon:

Druid is probably the best solo class in PF, just like they are in 3.5. (Just not quite ridiculously so.) Particularly if you're going woods/dungeon crawling.

For your first query I will third/fourth/whateverth Inquisitor.

I should probably mention that the one shot from my Son is D&D 3.5, core and splats only, with a sprinkle of PHB 2. Going to move this part of the discussion to a new thread, but feel free (plz) to help with the one shot PF ideas as well on this one...

Thank you GITP'ers!
