PC X shoots an arrow to npc X.
The distance is 30ft. Arrow gets there in 1 round.
The distance is 1000ft. When the arrow gets there?

Should i assume, no matter the distance, if it is a "hit", that the arrow cover the distance in 1 round no matter what?

By the rules as written, yes.

According to a bit of (unreliable) google-fu, modern bows shoot at upwards of 300 feet per second, so I'd assume that any bow with a range increment of 100 feet will hit the same round it's launched.

Actually I think it gets there instantly / in a very small amount of time

This is correct. Projectiles / Missiles travel instantly to their target, regardless of distance.

Max range on a longbow is roughly 1100 feet. As long as it flies at 183.33 feet per second or faster, it can hit anything in its range in the same round.

I believe there is a build somewhere on the forum that managed to shoot arrows at more than 40 miles. 40 miles! In an istant. Mach 1 is 0.21126620536069 miles per second. Go nuts.

EDIT: Found it (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=253910). Maximum range is 43.2 miles. However, by reading the eagle's cry bow effect in a certain way, you can go up to 56.07 miles with the same build.

That was magically assisted, and high level. It's like if you took Hercules, gave him a special magic bow, and had a god help him make the best shot ever.

Magical or not, those arrows are still travelling at Mach 200+ (assuming that an istant is 1 second, which isn't true because an istant is much less than a second). :smalltongue:
