Do you think on a warlock that going thurge enhances a warlock focused player or detracts from it.

Relatively speaking, it buffs the Warlock and debuffs the Wizard/Cleric.

While losing out on a few invocations known and maybe 2d6 of EB damage isn't that great for a Warlock, the spells provided by Cleric/Wizard levels more than make up for it. You trade some minor amounts of power for sheer versatility, and if you used Ur-Priest (like any good Warlock would) you end up with a Cleric that has Warlock goodies.
