Ok, so the short of it is I wanna start planning and getting all the kinks worked out of a campaign concept. Basically a Fallout Equestria game (or failing that, just a straight up Fallout fantasy game). Problem is, I can't seem to figure out how to make that work without combining Pathfinder and D20 Modern, and I understand that D20 Modern is pretty terrible (or so I hear).

So I'm looking for suggestions to help make this post-apoc wasteland game a thing. Preferably keeping it in a D20 format, though I'm flexible.

Try taking a look at this (http://www.d20modernpf.com/), I think it's a SRD for Modern Pathfinder, I haven't read it but I found the link in the PF SRD so I'm assuming it's legit.

My first thought was the aforementioned modern version of Pathfinder.

My second thought was Mutant Future (http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/56282/Mutant-Future-Revised-Edition-%28no-art-version%29), a post-apocalyptic OSR retroclone.

My third thought was True20. It's a bit like Pathfinder, but you have basically three classes (Strong Guy, Clever Guy, Magic Guy) and every variation on those is an archetype. I'm absolutely positive there's a modern version.

Thanks =D I'm gonna need to browse through that this coming week.

Offhand, do you know if there's any rules in there (or somewhere similar) for radiation and such?

After a quick search I couldn't find anything, perhaps you could Homebrew something based of the Fallout Mechanics (http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Radiation#In-game_effects), or look for it in a different RPG and adapt it to Pathfinder.

The biggest single problem with modern is the wealth system. Discard that entirely(which, for a fallout sort of setting, basically has to happen anyway), and use the normal PF rules for that sort of thing, swapping gold coins for caps or whatever.

Also, note that the D20M instant death rules are really, really easy to trigger, and a more munchkin oriented player can do that as an AoE six times a round. Maaaybe fix that a bit.

Aye, I'd have to homebrew some things regarding missile launchers and the like.

I do believe I shall use a variation on that =D Mark areas as "+# Rads/round", apply Ability Damage that persists until the Rads are purged or something.
