Does the ability to maze a person only work on unfriendly persons? Or for example if I needed to quickly sneak someone out of a place could i convince them to fail the save, go in and then release them later?

I can't see any reason it shouldn't work. If there is no save for hostiles I can't imagine it would care if someone wasn't technically hostile. And it says 'single creature' and 'victim', neither of which are necessarily the same as an opponent or a hostile creature.

Creatures also can always willing fail a save unless they have a class feature that says otherwise.
