is it possible to consistently get a 37 or higher on UMD checks? before level 5? :smallconfused:

i've been thinking of a character, and i want to see if this is possible, if not, i'll have to wait more levels

Circlet of Persuasion brings it down to +15.

Warlock levels, means he can take a 10, which brings it to +6 of goal. Magic Device Attunement means you only have to make it once a day.

Masterwork bracers to help you hold it. +2

Now it just needs +4.

Eagle's Splendor raises it +2.

So 2 shy...if you had it magically be +5 to those checks...

Then it's be taking a 40.

Edit: Splash Marshall in the Warlock, and you can do it without a custom magic item, or a psicrystal.

Only for UMD checks involving scrolls, 5 ranks in Decipher Script also gives a +2 on scrolls

37 sounds awfully specific-- Is there some task in particular you're trying to accomplish? Maybe we can figure out a way to bring that DC down.

How consistently do you require for "consistently"? Does that mean every time, 90% of the time, over half of the time?

Given that you're investing heavily in UMD anyway, have you considered using wands of skill-boosting spells? Guidance of the Avatar, for instance, would be a +20, which gets us over halfway there just by itself.

UMD DC foot a scroll is 20+caster level.

So The DC for a ninth-level scroll is 37. If it's a scroll, you also can use the synergies mentioned above.

Also, how many feats and gold does getting a +whatever to UMD cost me?
