Why is the LA for axiomatic SO high?! It's a +4 LA (the same as half celestial for example) and provides;

-smite chaos
-dark vision 60'
-SR =HD+5
- limited telepathy
-energy resistance

Whereas a half celestial;
-type changes to outsider
-gain fly speed
-natural AC boost
-daylight AND smite evil
-huge number of SLAs
-dark vision
-disease immunity
- energy resistance
-damage reduction
-spell resistance
-and bonuses to ALL ability scores.

How can axiomatic be worth the same LA as half celestial? Which one is more accurate? Should half celestial be higher or axiomatic be lower...like WAY lower?

Sometimes designers are just *wrong.* It happens. Even the pros are human and sometimes they get stupid or lazy.

Sounds like Axiomatic ought to be lower...dat spell resistance tho...

No its just too high and should be lowered. Anarchic is +5 iirc which is also to high.

...is almost completely useless. Spell resistance equal to your ECL plus 1 means that an enemy spellcaster of the same level will be guaranteed to get through it, and an enemy of lower level will only have a 5% chance per level lower of failing. To be worthwhile, SR should be somewhere in the vicinity of 11 above your level, to give an equal-level opponent a 50-50 chance of failure.

Looking through the celestial and fiendish template are almost identical to axiomatic and anarchic, with the exception of the extra DR that celestial/fiendish gets... Putting it on par with a LA +2
