Greetings and Happy New Year! The group I DM for may be going into an ubdead heavy territory.

Aware of this, they would like to purchase a wand of death ward.

I looked into the wand section in the DMG, but could find nothing regarding pricing for such a wand.

Are there any guidelines to come up with a price for that? It is a very useful spell that would render the party basically immune to 80% of stuff undead can do.

And it's 50 charges, to top it off.

Thank you very much in advance.

Caster Level times the spell level times 750 so

750 * 7 * 4 = 21000 gp assuming you use the minimum caster level for a 4th level spell. It would be minimum CL 8 if it's being made by someone who gets 4th level spells at 8th level. All of this should be in the DMG under wands.

The base price of a wand is its caster level × the spell level × 750 gp.
Therefore, since a spell cannot have it's caster level reduced below the CL required to cast it, the wand will be a 4th level spell with a CL of 7, with no costly material component, resulting in a price of 21000 gp for a wand with 50 charges, which is the same base price for any other spell that has those same conditions.

If you're willing to give them a break, Runescarred Berserkers get Death Ward as a 3rd level spell, allowing the cost of the wand to be reduced to 11250 gp if made by an Archivist.

750 gp * the spell's level * the spell's caster level

For death ward, that means 750*4*7, or 21000gp.

The price of a wand with 50 charges is the Spell Level * Caster Level * 750gp

Death Ward is a 4th level spell. A typical wand would be the lowest possible CL- in this case 7. The price would be 4 * 7 * 750 for a total of 21,000 gp.

Thank you very much for the quick responses! It is a pricy item, but well worth it, then.
