Thats not true. Hermione wanted to know things more than any other person in her class, and she wasn't in Ravenclaw. Dumbledore wanted to know things and to succeed, and he wasn't in Ravenclaw. Voldemort saught dark and forbidden magic, and he wasn't in Ravenclaw. What makes a Ravenclaw would be someone who wants to know things, but has no other (even small) characteristics, and absolutely no value to the plot.
