Hey... I'm creating a low/alternative-magic world for an upcoming horroresque/urban D&D campaign and was wondering if there are ranger or paladin variants that don't cast spells? If so, what books are they in? I haven't read, but know of the scout class, but it's more wildernessishy, right? If so, I could adapt it just like the Urban Ranger variant. Er... I can't think of anything else I'd want to know right this moment...

(It's all right if they have supernatural abbilities, just not spell-lists... Warrior of Darkness and Cancer Mage (PrCs in BoVD) for instance are good examples of magical characters in this world)

Well, there are CW variants. Exactly what you're looking for.

OK, cool, I'll check out Complete Warrior then... anyone have suggestions for books that have prestige classes like Cancer Mage and Warrior of Darkness... you know, obviously magical but based around at-will, times-per-day or supernatural abilities instead of spell lists?

Tome of Battle, depending on your view of maneuvers.
