Dear Giant,

I am (hopefully) soon to create a RPG group. All of us are complete novices, but since I've had some experience (read: I just played a couple of practice sessions over Christmas break) I think I'm going to GM. So that I don't have to come up with everything once school starts again, I started a bit on an evil villain to focus a campaign around (college is generally too hectic for such things). I remembered reading the "Villain Workshop" article in the Gaming section and applying it to a villain from a short story I was writing, so I decided to pull it out and use it here. By the second step, he was much more fleshed out and interesting than the standard "sold his soul to some elder god to rule the world/kill everyone."

So to the Giant: thanks. Even if the group doesn't get off the ground, I've got an interesting villain for this game (later) or a story, and some more experience creating villains.

To everyone else: this is a great guide. If you haven't read it, go do so.

I know I'm a few years late, but I thought this needed to be said.
