So, yeah. Playing 3.5 again after the first time in quite a while, and I want to try out a class I never got to, but always liked the look and feel of. It's gonna be Planescape / Sigil, so Tiefling jumped out at me (most of the rest of the party is at +1LA as well, and it's starting at either 4th or 5th level, so I figured no great loss there).

Rolled stats of 16, 16, 13, 12, 11, 11.

Thinking 16 str 12 con 18 dex 15 int 11 wis 9 cha post modifiers?

Also contemplating a familiar for flavour reasons and funnies, and I need help picking something that will fit mechanically, or that can be reflavoured into something suitably odd.

I've done a little reading, and it looks like just straight Duskblade 4 is my best bet so far? Any tips would be much appreciated.

Duskblade Handbook (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=525)

Improved Familiar can net you an Imp which would mix with the Tiefling in terms of flavor and it's decent mechanically as well. The Familiar Handbook (http://dictummortuum.blogspot.com/2011/08/familiars-handbook.html) lists some other options as well.

Imp's a no-go due to alignment, sadly.

Thanks for the links though :)
