Okay... so I know this has great potential for abuse, but what do you guys think?

So, lemme see, a minimised scorching ray dealing 4 damage for each ray? Even when you only gain 1 ray this deals more damage than the average 0th level spell has as a maximum. And a delibirate knock could be a very handy fill of a first level slot.

yeah. negative metamagic feats don't really work that well. to hard to adjudicate, and too easy to abuse.

Using some of this stuff with the Arcane Thesis feat would lead to pure and unadulterated evil.

I agree. Good idea, but the rules just aren't made for it.

Hmm...
Perhaps if I added in a clause that states you cannot reduce them with Arcane Thesis and the like? Not with that wording, but somewhere along the lines that you cannot reduce/change the level modification or overall spell level if you have applied this feat?

And Gez, thats just because Scorching Ray is crazy good. However, I've always though cantrips needed a way to be useful at levels higher than two...
