Good evening...

I was wondering if there is a general rule applicable to supernatural abilities in respect to distance if no distance is mentioned?

Thanks

What system? Do you have anything in particular in mind?
in 3.5 supernatural abilities, if nothing else is mentioned, use caster level equal to the creature's HD - which may affect range.

You use the word 'distance', which isn't a game term in 3.5. What exactly do you mean? Are you sure you're looking for info on supernatural abilities? Not spell-like abilities, for example?

I was thinking range, somehow I forgot that word. Im indeed thinking 3.5 d&d.

If the ability is stated to work as a spell, then you'd use the spell's range (at the ability's caster level, which as previously stated is equal to your HD unless otherwise specified), unless the ability says otherwise. If the ability doesn't mimic a spell in some way, then usually the ability is quite clear in how it works, usually including a range somewhere in the description.

Is there an ability in particular that you'd like to know the range of?

Thanks...

This was more a generel question, and no specific SU in mind.
