Number of unique entries in monster manuals 1 & II

Pretty simple question, I am away from books at the moment but I need to know how many unique entries are in the monster manuals I & II (roughly, does not need to be exact.) For purposes of unique, assume all spiders, scorpions and creatures of the same type, but of differing sizes, are one creature. Don't need names or descriptions, just a simple numerical over-view. Treat things like elementals as separate entries per element, same with dragons or similar creatures in which different entries do have pretty different abilities.

...Couldn't you just count the pages from A to Z in each monster manual and add up the numbers? I'd do it but my MMs are in a chest on the attic somewhere.

Going by the table of contents in the MM1 roughly 420. and roughly 136 in the MM2.
