The world of Martivir is ruled by dragons, or so it would seem. There are 5 provinces, each controlled by a different clan of Metallic dragons. There is 1 Province far to the north in the highest mountains that is called home by the Dwarves, widely refered to simply as Verthicha by the rest of Martivir. In the Center of the largest continent is the province run by humans, Vythvaeri, ruled over by King Emrick Darastrix and his royal family. The human capital of Talumbar is the center of trade and politics, and the human province is bordered by all 5 Metallic Dragon provinces. To the north of Vythvaeri is a large swath of wasteland, Loex Arcaniss, "Dead Magic" in the dragon's tongue. Almost all magic ceases to function, except necromancy, which seeps into the very soil. No crops grow, most wild animals are plagued or undead, and only brigands, necromancers, and intelligent undead call this place home. The Dwarven province lies further north, past the wasteland. This has allowed the Dwarven mountain homes to remain almost untouched by dragons save for the few that would dare venture that far north to interact with them.

Clockwise from Loex Arcaniss are the more temperate mountains of the Gold Dragons, dominated by a single massive mountain simply Ternesj, though it is also nicknamed the Mithral Mountain, as the rivers of mithral ore running beneath it have been continuously mind for centuries without being exhausted. The Gold Dragons elect one of their strongest and wisest to lead them, and are currently led by Morakktulashivanii the Wise. The humanoids that live in the mountain speak well of their leaders and indeed the Gold dragons care for the families of humanoids that live in the mountain. Dragonborn and draconic humanoids are common, though half-dragons and spellscales less so. The province's main export is beautiful works of art, mithral weapons, armor, and jewelry, and precious stones found under the mountains.

Next are the hills, desert, and vast plains of Vignar, home to the Brass Dragon clans. The clans live in small families spread out wide over their vast province, allowing them to protect the villages of humans and halflings that live along the rivers and oasis. The families visit the villages often, also eager to learn of news and gossip, and because of this word travels incredibly fast across Vignar. The Brass Dragons have their eldest act as a clan leader, though he does little more than settle any disputes and assign patrols. The families work in concert with the humanoids to keep out blue dragons that encroach from seemingly no where from time to time. The current leader of the Brass Dragon clans is Dalatross the Pleasant. A powerful practitioner of magic, she spends a great deal of time in the large trade city of Kilikah, where she has established a school to train fledgling sorcerers, druids, wyrmlings and other magic users how to practice their magic properly. Vignar has a large number of half-dragons, as intermingling between the dragon families and the humanoids is encouraged. The main exports of the province are finely crafted clothes, pottery, and exotic fruit.

To the south east of Vythvaeri, south of Vignar, is the coastal province of Hesjing, home to the Bronze Dragon clans. They are the most common dragons to find beyond their providence and NOT being on a trade or diplomatic mission, as they make it a point to seek out injustices and solve them. Pirates are relatively few thanks to their vigilance, and the best among them is known as Sarcraxzii the Hunter. Younger than the "leaders" of the other dragon provinces, he maxes up for his lack of age with a faster view of the world. By more actively participating in hunting down bandits, raiders, and evil sea creatures, he's gained a great deal experience. He encourages humanoids to right wrongs and hunt down evil doers, and thus Hesjing has some of the lowest crime rates anywhere. Vignar has a variety of dragon influenced races to varying degrees. The province's exports include large quantities of fish and other sea food, pearl jewelry, and JUSTICE.

To the west of Hesjing is massive forests and hills, which are broken up into several small provinces ruled by tryannical chromatic dragons and humanoids. The large grouping is referred to as a whole as Pothoc to the other regions, though calling it such to any who are from there is sure to start a fight. The 5 strongest Tyrants from the region include a Blue Dragon named Jabidakimbatuul, a Green Dragon called Kesikasumislox, and the Great Red wyrm, Drachenflagrion, as well as an Orc Warchief named Gahruul Ironbane, and a half elven warlord Kalintus Mastevari. These five, and several lesser tyrants beneath them, are in constant conflict with both one another as well as the surrounding provinces of Hesjing, Vythvaeri, and Aruxnoach. Dragonblood flows both on the fields and in the veins of many creatures, and only the threat of war on a continent wide scale prevents the Metallic Dragons from taking direct action against any of the warlords. The main exports of Pothoc are violence, evil, and contraband.

West of Pothoc and southwest of Vythvaeri the mountains rise up again, and the realm of the Silver Dragons, the province of Aruxnoach, covers a wide region. However the mountains are steep and their insides hold seemingly little value. If one were to travel on foot they might find a tiny village in a valley hre or there but would find little else, though it may notice that massive clouds that gather in three areas int eh province. Each of the clouds holds up an entire castle, which is home to many humanoids as well as the Silver Dragon clans. The clans are broken up into three families who each control one cloud city, and every three centuries the leadership of the Silvers is given to the eldest dragon of one of the cloud cities. Currently Klizzatrikkorx the Handsome is in charge, and under his rulership trade has vastly increased with the other provinces. His is a savvy politician and has made many new trade deals with the humans, and the coppers north of him, though among his won kind he does little actual "ruling" as his position is just a minor formality to give the other clans someone to direct any issues that affect all dragon kind to. Spellscales make up a large percentage of the humanoid population in the cloud cities, number at least 15%. Aruxnoach's primary exports are magical items of seemingly unique design including flying carpets, which are extremely expensive and highly sought after.

Last of the Metallic dragon provinces is Rachokarthel, which is a simple name as it is home of the Copper Dragon clan. "Ruled" by Caliastoxx the Generous, the Copper dragons are the least segregated from the humanoids they live with, considering many humanoids as equals. Half-Dragons and draconic blood is common among the humanoid families, and most Copper dragons share their homes gladly with permanent residents and travels alike. In fact the main purpose of a Copper dragon's home in Rachokarthel is to act as an Inn for merchants and caravans, and a saver place one could not wish for, though the owners of such establishments LOVE to use riddles as methods of payment. Despite his seemingly absent-mindedness, Caliastoxx is a still ancient and thus not one to be taken lightly, and proves such on a regular basis by defending the borders between Rachokarthel and Loex Arcaniss with a wide variety of breaths. The main export of Rachokarthel is pottery, crops, and literature.

Our adventurers are representatives of one of the five leaders of the dragon clans. Each of them has been sent by personal request of the leader and is to arrive at Talumbar, where they will meet each other and a contact and begin a mission, apparently as a joint effort to stop some greater evil that may threaten all the clans. The city of Talumbar is truly massive, divided into multiple districts both residential and commercial. A small plateau rising in the center of the city has the royal district where the noble families live, with the 7 residential districts around it; Wooded Grove, Small Town, Savage District, Dragon Spire district, Lake Ocues, Midtown, and the Slums. Around it the city is broken into several shopping districts depending on the culture and wealth of their target shoppers, an entertainment district, a red light district next to the slums, a garden district near the Wooded Grove, and a small port on the far end of Lake Ocues that has rivers leading beyond the walls. The walls themselves are marvels to behold; 80ft high and 30ft thick of solid granite, dotted with towers. The main gates of the city each face a different province, and the major roadways all lead towards the plateau int eh center. The representatives are all expected to meet in the mid-class shopping distract at the central plaza, marked by a statue depicting the late King Celland Darastrix, Emrick's great-great-grandfather, signing a treaty with the 5 Dragon Clans. It is a mid summer afternoon with a sunny sky.

Adir Emberstride rides into town on back of a large heavy horse. When he spots the Darastrix statue he dismounts landing on clawed feet. He ties the horse off at the nearest hitching post and proceeds inside. Standing just over seven feet tall he towers over most of the human occupants. He lowers his hood, revealing a short muzzled reptilian face covered in golden scales. He searches the area a bit before finding a chair in the designated meeting location. He looses a strap across his shoulder and gently sets a leather ruck and a large steel shield to the ground next to the chair before having a seat to wait for Hraggon and the others.

Darius lands outside the city gates, having only left his mountainous home only 5 days prior. Looking up to the great wall Darius smiles, the silver flecks in his purple flesh catching some of the mid day sun.

"Well this is the place"

He rolls up his carpet and stuffs into the side of his bag and begins his trek toward the city gate. He looks amongst the other travelers going to and from the city. Not knowing what to expect. He is over a week early for the meeting. He hopes he will be able to explore this new city.

After waiting for an hour or so Adir checks his notes. Upon realizing he has arrived quite early he rises from his chair gathers his things and steps out into the market. He peruses the available goods and wares offered at the vender shops while looking for an inn or tavern where he might grab a meal and let a room for the coming nights.

Foreseeing no trouble to actually enter the city, Darius walks into the city, amazed at the grandness of a city upon the ground, he looks to and fro about, captivated. While it could not measure the grandness of the cloud cities, it certainly was... more massive then what he was used to. Unsure of where everything is, he stops by a wall guard to ask for directions of where he is. "Sir, Which section of the city are we in? and which way could I find the Dragon Spire?" ((Diplomacy [roll0]))

The guard is a pure blood human from the look of it. "You are in the low-class markets. The Slums are towards the inner circle, with Noble Plateau in the middle. To get to Dragon Spire, you can cut right through the plateau if you have the right papers for it, or take one of the inner roads on it's edge if you don't. Travel in and out of the city is not regulated during the day, nor between the outer districts at any time. Travel between the residential districts is restricted only by it's personal guard, who each have their own policies, though taking the innermost roads that are between the districts can bypass that, most non-residents don't know that. If you don't have any papers, go to the Merchant's Hub just north of here, find the City Bank. They will handle all your papers there. There is a minor processing fee but for most of you folks from the Dragon provinces it's a pittance. If you have any trouble or get lost, just ask another guard. Directions are one of the things we're trained to give. Have a good day Dragon Blooded."

Meanwhile, Adir is on the other side of the city, in the mid-class market district. The smells and sights are a miz of the Dragon provinces, especially items from the port cities of Hesjing, hand-crafted items from Vignar, and even a few simple mithral items from his home province. After searching for an hour or so he has discovered three different inns: The Hunter's Den is a subterranean home owned by a young Copper with a noodle shop sitting on top of it; The Dancing Wyrmling is a simple three-story structure run by a pair of Spellscale sisters; and the Shadowed Wings is a small dive located in one of the back alleys, a seedy place run by a half-dragon ogre, but certainly cheap and surprisingly discreet about their business.

Adir stops at the Vignari shop for a moment to look at the items available for purchase. Afterward he heads for the Hunter's den to rent a room, preferring an earthen ceiling. After checking in he goes upstairs to eat.

At the Vignari shop, Adir meets a young draconic human with clear signs of heritage to the Brass dragons who live in Vignari. The human greets Adir and shops off several fine selections of bolts of cloth, as well as a few clothes made from the fabric, and several exotic fruits and spices, most displayed in earthen jars painted to display daily life in Vignari. After Adir finishes with his shopping, the young Copper running the Hunter's Den greets Adir warmly, offering a room and including an order of the noodles upstairs, but asks him to answer a riddle as well. "You throw away the outside and cook the inside. Then you eat the outside and throw away the inside. What did you eat?"

The Copper pauses and seems to think for a while, "Well... I suppose if you didn't like yolk and you were very careful, yes, you certainly could... Good thinking!" He laughs, though Adir gets the feeling his answer was not the one the Copper was thinking of. Nonetheless, the answer given satisfies the Copper and he hands you a key for the room. e pauses for a moment as if in deep thought then looks back at you, "Order what you want from Jasmine upstairs, she'll make it for you. Firs meal's on the house!" If this Inn owner weren't a dragon you'd wonder how he can afford to give away rooms an meals simply for riddles.

Darius smiles and nods in appreciation.

"Many thanks good sir."

Since He is in the slums Darius decides to hand out some charity. He calls upon his Cloak to produce [roll0] Goodberries. After eating one to give himself a good meal for the next several hours. He hands out the rest to the downtrodden as he passes through the slums of the town. He also looks for any those who look injured, handing out the healing from his clerical robes. Each time he offers them the blessings of Klizzatrikkorx. All this he does on the way toward the merchants hub with the intention of attaining papers for travel through the city.

Being so near the slums, Darius has no trouble finding recipients of the berries and healing he provides. After an hour or so he has exhausted he healing he has and made a small name for himself an his patron. One of the young humanoids, kobold child by the look of it, has started following Darius. "Hey mister! Not many folks dressed as nicely as you go out of there way to help out the poor. A silver might pass through now and then to perform charity work but only he true dragons really do it. I'm Scamp! You new to town mister?" Daius is sure that the direction he's heading will take him to the Merchant's district soon, and in fact he can see a large building rising above the others around it wit several dragons situated on the roof, probably guards. That must be the bank.

Darius should make a spot check as well.

Darius Vibrtrar
2014-01-08, 01:23 AM
Darius smiles at the kobold skamp.

"I beileve that the downtrodden and those down on their luck should receive what can be offered. Charity to the unfortunate is a vritue. I plan to return when able to offer aid again. I am limited in what I can offer, but I give what I can. And yes Scamp, Im new to town. "

Darius looks up to the bank for a moment to see the dragons, and sees the dragons guarding the bank. [roll0] to spot.

"But it seems this is where we must part for now Scamp. Take care and go in Klizzatrikkorx's good graces"

The dragons a top the bank include among them 3 brass, 1 bronze, and 1 copper. All of them seem to have runes carved into their hides. The bank itself has a lot of traffic almost constantly, and the main entryway accommodates even the largest of dragons.

I give Scamp a friendly parting gesture, kneeling down and patting his shoulder.

"Stay safe cousin."

I turn to head into the merchants hub, and head toward the bank, standing in line as nessecary. If there are any officials that seem to be guiding, or offering assistance to patrons, I approach them to garner information [roll0].

"Excuse me, I am new to town, and I would like to appropriate the correct papers for traveling through the city. Where must I go within the bank to do this?"

After waiting in line at a desk marked "Information", you have the chance to ask a young spellscale woman your question. She directs you to the "Registration" desks, which are on the second floor, just up the stairs. She wishes you a pleasant day. After getting upstairs the desks are run by an oddly large elf, who looks at you over is spectacles and silently hands you several sheets of parchment and a magic quill that provides its own ink. The paper requires Darius to place his name, province, name of his immediate patron, reason for visiting, any goods he is bringing, and three request pages, one each for entering and leaving he city at nigh, one for access to the Noble Plateau, and one for practicing magic beyond the 2nd circle within city limits. Each request comes with a 3 gold processing fee.

Darius Vibrtrar
2014-01-08, 01:51 AM
Darius returns the pleasant farewell to the spellscale and heads upstairs. Upon receiving his Paperwork, he fills it out swiftly.

Name: Darius Vibrtrar
Province: Aruxnoach
Patron: Klizzatrikkorx
Reason For Visiting: The procurement and secured future/safety of the realm
Goods: None other then charity and good fortune

Darius fills out all three request forms and with a smile pulls out a platinum coin from his purse and lays it upon the request forms as he submits them.

"Is there a Speedy Processing Fee as well?" Diplomacy [roll0]

The elf leafs through the papers and checks the platinum, depositing it and filing the papers, then filling out a small identification card and stamping it three times. "That should do with all fees. You are all set then, you may move about the city freely. Please be aware that the papers will not guarantee that the guards in the residential districts will simply let you pass, as those are regulated outside of standard procedure. Also, while casting above 2nd circle spells is allowed with your paperwork, please avoid casting anything that would disrupt the daily routines of citizens or visitors, and if you do cast high circle magic, guards will request to see your paperwork. Note that while you may now enter the Noble Plateau, interrupting the nobles without proper cause is a fine-able offense, and the palace itself is strictly off limits to the peasantry without a request for audience being filed a week in advance. Would you like o file a request for audience?"

Darius Vibrtrar
2014-01-08, 02:09 AM
As no change was given, Darius assumed that the gold tip was taken as a speedy processing fee.

"How much is that paper work processing fee? to request an audience within the palace?"

Darius had no use for any other paperwork, nor even for an audience, but he would love to see the inside of the castle, and maybe even a tour of such a grand building, if nothing but for the experiance.

Croverus
2014-01-08, 02:17 AM
"The basic audience paperwork fee starts at 100 gold, which allows you to walk in, go to the throne room, say a few words to the king, he may respond, then you leave. Anything more flexible involves negotiable rates."

Darius Vibrtrar
2014-01-08, 02:21 AM
Darius's eyes widen at the cost. That was alot of money.

"What about if I just want a tour of the grounds, that I dont need to bother the king with his time? How much revenue would that be worth to the city. just a guided tour, a scullary maid could do that, and that couldnt be worth more then a gold for her time that it would take for her to show me around."

Darius held his arms out, hoping that would be an appropriate price for the small thing he desired. Diplomacy [roll0]

The elf sighs, "Royal policy has decided that no one is allowed on the Palace grounds unless on official palace business, and we certainly are not going to let someone wander the castle halls accompanied by only a maid. If you do not wish to request audience wit the King then we're done here. Next!"

Meanwhile a few districts over, Adir enjoys a pleasant meal at the shop above the Hunter's Den. Jasmine suggests to him that the public library is a good place to find something to read, and is located just to the north, in the Wizard Market. "I you wind up in the Merchant's Hub district you've gone too far. It's a great big white structure with a number of towers and spires. Be careful if you wander in the back alleys though. The spire drakes have grown in number the past month and like to harass travelers."

Darius Vibrtrar
2014-01-08, 03:01 AM
Darius smiles despite the elves agitation. He nods when the elf has decided that they are done. He grabs his belongings and heads back down toward information.

"Excuse me Miss. I know where the Noble district Is. and I know where the Dragon Spire District is. But I'm not sure on anything else other then the Merchants hub. Could you tell me where things are, like a library, perhaps a mages sector, and a place of safe and modest lodging?"

He smiles again, remember how well the female spellscale at the desk was able to help him earlier.

She nods with a chipper attitude and pulls up a small map of the city. "You are here, the Merchant Hub, and going clockwise includes the Wizard Markets district including the public Library, Arcane Vaults, and the Tower of Io; the Plaza, which is mid scale shops and inns and contains the statue of the King's Great-Great-Grandfather signing the treaty with the Dragon Lords of the five Metallic provinces; the Garden district; the outer edge of Lake Ocues, which includes the docks; the Arena district; the Temple district; the Redcandle district; and finally, Kobold Market. The inner circle includes the Midtown directly next to the Merchant Hub, then Small Town, Dragon Spire, Wooded Grove, Lake Ocues, Savage district, and the Slums. And of course, Noble plateau in the middle of the city, which includes the homes an shops of the nobles, the Statue of Io and Bahamut, and the Palace itself."

Darius Vibrtrar
2014-01-08, 11:31 AM
Darius continues his smile as he is instructed by the map.

"What would it take for me to part the map from you? Its a good map, and I would love to make use of it after I leave here, if your willing to part with it"

While Darius was good with spells, memorizing names and places without a map was a little difficult for him, and such a map would certainly be an asset.

The face of the map shimmers and seems to lift up off the page, then she guides the image to the fresh sheet of parchment. The original map remains unchanged, while the copy appears freshly penned. She hands you the copy. "I hope that helps. Anything else I can do for you?"

Adir sees many wondrous things while traveling through the market, including an ioun stone vendor, a shop of tiny magical beasts to purchase as pets, shops selling wands, staves, a magic weapon shop, magic jewelry, and more. The rats have all been slain, a trivial menace in these dark side streets.

Darius came around the corner hearing the exclamation. Wearing Silver Cleric robes, an Earthy Cloak, Leather Bracers designed with the five elements, Goggles with a silver tint, and a Silver Amulet of a Closed Eye. All of his clothing seemed to be of masterwork quality. Seeing the flash of wing and ice on the ground, it was easy to see that this was a dragon blooded.

In draconic. "Was that the last of them?" As he could see no more rats, he wanted to make sure they were all handled.

Answering in Draconic.
"I believe so. Though I have never quite seen such beasts." Hanging his morningstar on a belt frog he extends a hand to Darius.
"Adir Emberstride. I'm..... new in town"

You see a 7'2" man wearing a dark aged cloak and carrying a large steel shield, but wearing nothing but a belted loincloth of supple leather. Several pouches and a weapon frog hang from the belt. Polished copper colored guantlets with open fingers and engraved flames decorate his hands. His scales are gold in color but very thick and broad like plates of armor.

"I would like to inquire where Fiendish Dire Rats came from in the city... That might denote there is a summoner calling them from the abyss... We should report this to the city guard and possibly to the magistrate. "

Darius walks with Adir, leaving the alleyway. He begins looking for any nearby guards ((Spot [roll0]))

"Each sector in the city has guards that are... self sufficient and have the interest of their sector above that of the others. With such Evil minions running around, there much be an infernal summoner of some sort unleashing them unto the city, or a young apprentice going the way of a warlock"

Frowning Darius reaches up and touches his goggles, activating them.

"Klizzatrikkorx"

Of course, you could have sensed her brother Delion. He's a Vampire after all and his kind can't help but register as evil. But he's still an intelligent humanoid and a law abiding citizen; so long as he has no evidence of illegal activity he has the same right as every one else. We'll have a patrol stop by and do a check, they're used to complaints about these things. If it turns up something and the city wishes to involve adventurers, we'll post a proclamation. Adit has nothing eventful happen to him on his way back to the Inn he's staying at. He manages to not get lost as well by staying on the main roads. The Copper dragon seems to chuckle, finding something entertaining about the situation.

________________________________________________

Snips flicks out his tongue twice, a response that Ricco has learned to mean agreement. A trio of guards step forward from the gate. The larges of them, a humanoid with draconic features, speaks to him in common. "Greetings traveler. I am Guard Sergeant Zaxxic. What brings you to Talumbar so late in the day? The gates would have been closed had you arrived but a few moments late. You may still enter the city, though I must warn you that you will need to fill out some papers to have your mount within the city limits. You may also leave him here in the stables, we have housing for non-traditional mounts. Also it should be noted that once the sun sets access in and out of the city is highly regulated, and traveling within the city is monitored at all district exchange points. The inner circle in particular will be somewhat restricted and the Noble Plateau is off limits to non-nobility after dark. Please state your name, province of residence, patron dragon, and purpose for coming to Talumbar." One of the other guards stands to the side with a board in hand, papers on it likely being registration forms.

Arriving at the steps of the Bank, Darius spots Amlexia waiting beside a pillar, speaking with a large red dragon who wore brilliant white armor and has a pair of stones floating around his horns. He chuckled, amused at something she had said, when she turns and spots Darius and waves to him. "Darius, I'm glad you keep. I was worried for a moment you might get too busy with your business. Allow me to introduce Sixxoraxis, one of the most noble red dragons you will ever meet in any life time."

The fee for the paperwork is 3 gold, and it's another 2 for each day we keep your mount stabled, not including extra costs for any divergences in its diet from normal mounts. Travel in the outer districts is not too restricted, though without papers you will be asked questions at each district check point so just be ready for that. Please follow all rules while in the city, no spell casting above the second circle, no flying within the city without approval from the captain of the guard, no use of breath weapons or area of effect spells on the main street, and of course the standard don't steal, vandalize, commit assault or kill anyone. Use your common sense basically. Any other questions? If not, you may now enter and leave the city after sundown. Best to visit the bank tomorrow and see if you can fill out any other papers while staying with us."

"Sixxoraxis is actually an old friend of my father. They met a long time ago when my father was a young man, a cleric of Lendys. The two met in the south of the Empire, where my father was seeking out a black dragon that had been stealing from other dragon treasures. Sixxoraxis was very young then and was also seeking out the black, who had stolen from him. The two joined forces and it turns out Sixxoraxis had been abandoned when he was still an egg. A family of mages found his egg, apparently used some magic to alter his alignment while he was still a wyrmling, then raised him as a creature of law and good. He had just began training as a Paladin when they met and together defeated the evil black. He's been around most of my life, and stops by every few weeks to check in on me." Sixoraxis simply observes as she tells the story, though it is something he experienced first hand, and as a dragon he remembers all the events with a great deal of clarity. He makes no move to add to the story, satisfied with what Amlexia had said.

The tanned skin man is met at the gates by the guards. They greet him, their leader noting that he has draconic heritage and treating him very highly. He is directed to head to the Merchant's District to fill out any paperwork he may need, such as papers to move freely through the city, registering what patron he represents, and getting approval to cast spells within the city limits if he is a magic user. Meanwhile, Adir begins making his way towards the Magic District to seek out the mysterious shop. As he reaches the street he can see from a distance a woman standing outside the shop speaking with three guards, one of which is the man Adir and Darius spoke with the other night.

Darius performs his morning routine and goes through the city helping the poor, his charity work is recognized, even inspires a few others to donate a few coppers or silvers to the less fortunate. A pair of elves approach him briefly, praising his kindness and exclaiming a relief to see such charitable work, hanging him a pamphlet to one of the local temples encouraging him to see about charity work with them, then they depart to hand out loaves of bread to the hungry. He arrives at the library in the Magic district the door held open by a grim-faced half-orc guard. The library is enormous, with a large opening in the center ceiling that has a magical barrier that a silver dragon flies through. The building is large enough that several dragons could move through the book aisles with ease, and the more cramped spaces are managed by groups of automatons. A young Brass dragon sits near the front entrance behind a large counter top, settling on a bed of well organized folders. Several automatons hold up papers to teh dragon, who examines them through a pair of spectacles as he mutters things in several languages, and the automatons seem to react to whatever he says. He makes his way towards the Merchant's District, passing through the slums, noticing the poor here seem to be in high spirits, a group of children playing with a rope chanting about the silver scaled man and his stomach filling berries. The Bank at the Market District is where the man finds his way, standing in line with a handful of early morning arrivals to the city to fill out paperwork. An old man boredly asks him what papers he wishes to fill out, listing off papers to move between districts and go in and out of the city after hours, papers to enter the royal district, papers to cast magic within the city, etc. It will cost him several gold to file all of it, but most of the paperwork is recommended if the visitor is represented by a dragon patron, makes things easier with the guards should the visitor to the city get into any kind fo trouble with the law.

Brixxoklac chuckles a deep throaty sound. "It is always good to hear praise for one's trove. As I take no interest in gold or jewels, it is knowledge that I sell my information for. The public archives are of course free to peruse but most of the maps you'd seek there are old, though they are still viable at least to get an idea of the layout. I'm sure we have the information you seek, though public records track only those living within the city legally. Illegal immigrants are understandably more difficult to track down. One moment..." The machine floats down to hover in front of Darius then turn and starts down an aisle. "Follow Axar-5227. It will take you to the information you need."

"Do not under estimate the power of human bureaucracy. They can produce enough red tape that even a dragon can be entangled in it. Next!" With that Garought takes his leave, and can begin exploring the city at his leisure.

"Merely browsing your wares while waiting on a colleague." Adir responds politely. "Though I had hoped to procure a new cloak," motioning to his worn travelling cloak " I do not believe I would find what I seek in this shop. Sorry to have bothered you."

Adir turns to leave, remembering that Darius had mentioned meeting at the statue.

Upon reaching the statue he notices his horse still tied to the hitching post "ahh such a fool" he thinks to himself as he unties the beast and mounts up. "Let's go get you some food and water" patting the horse's lower neck as he says this.

Darius Bows deeply.

"Thank you kind one, anything you have access to I will gladly receive and compensate you for as I am able."

Darius begins to follow Axar-5227 to his destination, wanting to gather as much information as able before heading to the statue to meet his ally.

Garought chuckles at the banker's joke, takes his papers and tucks them into his belt pouch for easy access. He sets out into the city.

Adir manages to keep his horse under control. It did not seem particularly happy to have been left tied up all night long, but responds to his commands without much more than a loud snort. He makes his way to the gate, mainly to ask a guard there where to find the stables, and is informed there that they have a small stables for most standard mounts at all entrances except the one facing the Copper Dragon Region, which happened to be the gate Adir entered through. They'd gladly house his horse at this entrance for a basic fee, which will be 5 silver per day.

Garought wanders into the Magic District, intrigued by the interesting shops there. He eventually finds his way to the central square of the district, which is in front of a massive building that seems to be a library. There are also several magic shops just opening up for morning business, and the square has 4 main roads leading away from it, and many side roads.

Darius follows Axar-5227 to a section where maps and globes covered most surfaces, scrolls with more maps filled the shelves. Darius couldn't recall any specific information about the rats that would help speed things alone; he was going to be going through the library for hours. The automaton spoke in a monotone voice. "You can find maps showing the old sewer systems of the magic district on that shelf there. The sewers have been reorganized and expanded upon many times in the past, and the last documented map was made 32 years ago, 4 months, and 26 days ago. You have permission to make copies of these maps, as even the most recent documented map will have minor alterations from the actual sewer system. Also note, maps do not include extra-dimensional spaces found in the sewers, though the locations of their beginnings may be noted. I will be on stand-by until you require further assistance."

Darius thanks to automaton and begins to work copying the sewer system layout for 300 yards surrounding the Vampires Magick Shop, Knowing that the entire sewer system would be too vast a payment then he could afford. Once done he returns to the "Libragon" (Library+Dragon) and displays the information he has gathered to negotiate a price.

Adir pays the fee for the remainder of his stay, he pats the horse as the stable hand leads him away. He then makes his way back to the agreed meeting place to wait on Darius.
