I'm making a high stakes dice game for my adventurers :).

Dragon’s Tantrum

The History
As legend has it, a nosy gnome, found his way into a deep and dark labyrinth that belonged to a council of great wyrms, who had mutual respect for each other even though they morally hated one enough.

This little gnome witnessed a great game of chance being played before a Silver, Red, Bronze, Black, Green, and Copper Dragon. They were betting portions their hoards and wealth as casually an every day night at the pub.

According to the tales, they caught the gnome and in exchange for his life, he had to play this odd game of chance. The littlle gnome one, and drained the Red, Green, and Copper dragon's share of their hoard they brought to the den that night and threw an insane tantrum, and thus The Dragon's Tantrum was born.

The Supplies
Each player takes a set of dice, minus the double digit d10. The should have six dice. (d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20)

An opaque cup to hide dice being rolled before revealing.

An shield of some sort to block your unrolled dice from being seen easily

The Ante Rules
A player cannot choose to leave the table once he or she has agreed to play. If they cannot afford the ante, they must provide something of equal value. If they cannot, everyone at the table gets a free punch on the victim. (auto crit) (Non lethal damage) and is barred from playing for a year.

Each round's ante is determined as follows:

First the currency type is determine by the dealer rolling a d4.

1 = Silver
2 = Gold
3 = Platinum
4 = Copper

Then the dealer rolls 1d20 x 100 to determine amount of current.

Example: If on the d4, a roll of 3 comes up, and then a roll of 16 comes up on the d20, then the ante for that round is 1600 platinum pieces.

The Game Itself
Before any rolls are made, the dealer takes his or her set of six dice, rolls them all at once, and orders them from highest roll to lowest, rolling again for any ties until they are broken. This will be the set order in which the dealer rolls dice. The Players do not know what the roll is only the type of dice rolled.

Each player keeps his or her dice hidden from view. When it is time to roll, each player puts their chosen dice for the round in the opaque cup. It is shaken and then the cup is put open side down.

Players can only roll a dice once and they have to hand it over after rolling it to the dealer to ensure it is not used again.

Highest roll wins.

The Pay Outs
If the highest roll is a player, then that player wins the entire ante pot.

Bonus winnings are given if the winning result is on a die that is smaller than a larger one vs the dealers die that was rolled. (Such as winning with a d8 vs a table of d10s, d12s, or d20s.)

For each die step there is between the dealer and the winning player, that player gets 20% additional profit.

For Example: Dar the Halfling was feeling quite risky, and rolled a lone d10 and won with a roll of a 9. The dealer however rolled a measly 4 on his d20. This mean dar walks away with the entire pot + 40%. (There are two dice steps between a d10 and a d20. (d10 -> d12 -> d20)

If the Dealer wins, they win the entire pot.

Each player keeps his or her dice hidden from view. When it is time to roll, each player puts their chosen dice for the round in a opaque cup. It is shaken and then the cup is put open side down, and is not revealed until the dealer rolls their random dice. (ranging from d4 to d20)

Highest roll wins.

If the winning roller's dice type is a lower value than the house, certain rewards follow.

For each dice step between the winning roller's dice and house's dice, the winner gets the pot x that amount.

you may want to change "chosen dice" to chosen die"

just to help with clarification

seems cool, i will read a little more come mourning

I'm considering changing the payout just slightly to match the dealer.

20% for each die step on both sides.

Additional changes: auto crit on the free punches.

the dealer always rolls a d20 instead.

players get 20% per die step when they beat the dealer on top of the pot, and the dealer gets 20% of the existing pot per die step they beat the highest roller by.

I also, may change the dealer rolling a d20 all the time, to having his own set of dice, but the order in which he rolls it, would be random, determined by rolling the entire set of dice, and ordering them highest to lowest.
