Okay, displacement cloak or whatever, 50% miss chance... this is pretty good no?

I'm wondering, what's out there to gain a kind of 'baked in' miss chance?

Umbral Diciple can get you a 40% miss chance by level 20 IIRC.

What else?

Shadowcraft Mage and Swiftblade can get 40-45%.

Anyone can get 20% with Open Lesser Chakra(Shoulders) + Shape Soulmeld(Displacer Mantle).

You can cast the No Light cantrip from BoVD and be a race that has darkvision. If you play with PF rules on cantrips you can pop off as many as you want. Fantastic low-level battlefield control, against non-darkvision things anyway.

The Cloak Dance feat can get you 20% miss chance by using a move action.

Shrouded Dance does the same thing as a skill trick.

In the truename section there is a dodge add on that gives a 50% miss chance

Shrouded Dance does the same thing as a skill trick.
Good point.

But the skill trick has a couple of drawbacks: under normal circumstances, a skill trick can only be used once per encounter. It also requires a DC 20 Hide check. The feat works automatically, and can be used every round. Additionally, as a full round action the feat can give total concealment.

But feats are precious, so the skill trick is a good alternative.

Well, since miss chances don't stack; aren't you better off taking the biggest single number you can find?

i.e. umbral deciple for 3 dips. Sounds pretty powerful;

although I'd like to know more about this dodge in the truename section...

Some monsters have unlimited Mirror Image at will, so if you manage to acquire that ability of theirs, you can get a miss chance of 7/8 that stacks with anything else you have.

You have total concealment (50%) against anything that can't see you. Invisibility, hiding, fog clouds, etc. all work here.

Combine the Umbral Disciple ability with the Incandescent Champion's incarnum overload ability to get 100% concealment, but only for three rounds per day.

And is there a 3 level dip (or less) that gives you persistent invisibility or concealment equal to or greater than umbral deciple?

There's a shadow hand stance in ToB that gives you 20% if you move during the round.

Shadowcraft Mage and Swiftblade can get 40-45%.

50% versus attacks, and then 50% versus targeted spells for swiftblade.
