d20m/ 3.5 Compatability

How well does material from the MSRD work in a mostly 3.5 game? I'm currently writing a campaign based almost entirely on time travel, and need more material for when I send the PCs to modern/futuristic settings. So, I need to know if this will be roughly balanced.

I've never played d20 modern, but I imagine psionics would mesh with it fairly well.
