Space... The last frontier...

So, I was searching the forums but couldn't find any existing Star Citizen thread, so I created this one.

For the uninitiated, Star Citizen (https://robertsspaceindustries.com/) is a crowd funded Space Simulator currently in development with a planned 2015 release window. At the helm of the project is Chris Roberts (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhsgiliheP0), whom you may know from classic space titles like Wing Commander (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Franchise/WingCommander?from=Main.WingCommander) or Freelancer (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/VideoGame/Freelancer?from=Main.Freelancer). Since its initial pitch in late 2012, the game has amassed over 36 million dollars in pledges. The money just won't stop flowing in. This allowed for development on a AAA budget free from the grips of major publishers and an unprecedented scale in the genre for the game's level of detail.

Examples of such details can be seen in all aspects of the game : characters (https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/transmission/12879-Death-Of-A-Spaceman), trading (https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/engineering/13128-The-Star-Citizen-Economy), flight physics (https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/transmission/12741-Physics-Not-A-Dirty-Word), spaceship customization (https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/transmission/12936-Engineering-Ship-Components-Systems)... Now, don't get the impression these things are just promises. The developers are already delivering, with a published hangar module where pledgers can enter the ships they received for pledging and the space combat module coming out for trial this very spring.

So that's it. I am curious to know if there are any other pledgers on the forums, or anyone as excited about the game as I am.

EDIT: Oh, yeah, and I totally need to flaunt the 325a, because she is the prettiest.

I'm pretty excited about it. I've got a MISC Freelancer and an Origin 300i sitting in my hangar, though I haven't checked in to see the new stuff they added in the latest patch. I'm waiting for the dogfighting module.

I was tempted to get a Drake Cutlass as well, but I think two ships is enough for now. I can buy more later.
