This is my first 3.5 homebrew, a system I'm not to familiar with.

The Rune Blade:

Hit Die: 1d10

Abilities: As a melee fighter strength and constitution are key. Many of his abilities rely on intelligence.

Races: Any race with access to rune knowledge can become a Rune Blade, dwarves and elves with their long history in particular.

Alighment: Rune Blades tend to lean to lawful but can be of any alignment.

Background: Warriors with ancient knowledge, aprentice wizards who know how to fight, anyone who knows how to use runes to win in battle.

Weapon and Armor proficiencies: Rune Blades are proficient with all swords and daggers, they are profient with light, medium, and heavy armor and shields.

Skills: Deciper language, knowledge(history), Heal, Use Magic Device, Forgery, Intimidate, Survival.

Skill points per level: 5+int mod
