Saurous' Guild of the Magical Arts

Exterior: The Guild's grounds are surrounded by tall, black walls of stone. A large gate rests in the front of the walls, and a sign sways in the breeze next to it. The sign reads:


Those of the Psychic, Magical, or otherworldly persuasion, inquire within to join the Guild.

Now searching for those that fit the requirements to be Head of Conjuration, Head of Abjuration, and Head of Psionics.

Enchantments and magical training is open to the general public.

Upon entering the gates, one is confronted by several buildings. Near the center, rests a large, rectangular, castle-like building made from dark grey stone. This is the Guild Hall. To the right of the Guild Hall, near the back, rests a huge building constructed from black metal and stone. This is the Item Archives, better known as the Museum. Directly behind the Guild Hall rests an extremely tall tower that seeming breaks the laws of construction and physics. The building is much wider near he top that it is at the bottom. This is the Arch-Mage's Tower. Arranged around the Guild Hall in a semi-circle are three smaller towers. The one on the furthest left is the Scrying tower. In the middle (Behind the arch-mage tower) is the Defense tower. The furthest to the right is the Teleportation tower.

Interior (Guild hall): Upon walking into the main guildhall, one would see several constructs, undead, and other creatures skittering around. The interior is constructed of fine dark wood. A desk rests in the corner, constructed of finely carved stone. A computer and several books rest atop the desk. If one were to turn right and enter the door there, one would come to a long hallway of more doorways and rooms. The mage quarters.

If one were to do the same only on the left, one would enter a room filled with spellbooks, computers, and various desks. Various mages sit at the desks, experimenting with magic or reading through a book. This is the research center.

If one were to go straight down the hallway parallel to the front door, one would come to two doors. Both doors lead to libraries, filled to the brim with various books. If one were to continue down this hallway, one would come to a stairway that leads in three different directions. If one were to go up it and turn left, you would come to several open doors and rooms. The various alchemical, necromantic, conjuration, and enchantment labs.

If one were to do the same, only going to the right, you would come to a long hallway of doors with various runes etched on the front. Such as "Necromancy", "Conjuration, "Evocation", "Enchantment", etc. These are the classrooms.

If one went straight up the stairs, one would come to the entrance to the Arch-Mages tower.

Saurous moves into an adjacent room from the entrance hall. He comes out of the room, pushing a large desk out with the help of a Retriever (http://www.systemreferencedocuments.org/35/sovelior_sage/monstersDtoDe.html#retriever-demon). The desk is a dark grey rock, with various runes scribed in it. It has a computer and several books ontop of it. After pushing it into the corner of the lobby, Saurous sits down behind the desk.

Good. Take a five minute break, and then get back to work.

The Retriever nodds, and then walks off.

I'm a master of Necromancy and Evocation, and I'm still looking for a good spell to move heavy objects without destroying them...

[Mr. Moon]

Damian enters through a portal and looks around for Sauros. Finding him, the Cleric walks up to the Necromancer.

"I take it you are still setting up." He says, one hand resting on his swords hilt.

[Saurous]

Saurous looks up from his computer at Damian.

Why yes, I am. It will only be less than an hour until we're finished.

A loud explosion is heard from further inside, and several undead creatures tumble down the stairs, burn marks on their faces.

O....kay...Maybe more than an hour. Excuse me.

Saurous stands and rushes off towards the explosion.

[Mr. Moon]

A slight smile tugged at Damian's lips as he followed Saurous. Frankly, things were getting boaring at the Church, and hey, it was his lunch break.

[Saurous]

Saurous and Damian enter a small alchemy lab, filled with various poisons. Among the alchemical equipment sit several computers. In the middle of it all, several unnamed mages in dark robes are standing around a apparatus with various chemicals in it. The thing is on fire, of course, and one of the mages is beating it with a rag. Some mages are scattered about, trying to find something to put it out.

Saurous frowns, his hand glowing with magic.

I'm surrounded by idiots...

He walks over to the burning device, and puts the flame out with a small magical burst. He then walks over to the mages, an pushes them out of the room.

A bunch of apprentices, don't even know how to put out a fire.

[Rex Idiotarum]

"You Rang?" Rex walks in in a very cameo-like way.

[Saurous]

...Oh, Greetings Rex. That...is your name, correct?

Saurous gives Rex an odd look.

[Rex Idiotarum]

"Yep, I was just wondering if you needed a head of Divination and Mind Effecting Spells specialist?" he says, "Also, I need a spell that can break Curses,"

[Mr. Moon]

Damian nods in reply to Saurous, having had watched the scean unfold with some mild amusement.

"Oh, hello Rex." The cleric says. "I do believe that there is a prayer I can use to despell a curse. Why?"

[Saurous]

Um, yes, we do need a Divination Master. In fact, any magic user/Psionics user would be good. I'll be back in a moment with your spell.

Saurous walks into the library, and comes back a few seconds later with a glowing white book.

[Rex Idiotarum]

"Good, I've had a few run ins with a Gender-Bending Belt, this should help with that. Anyways, I'm a half-Seer(Aberration) with substantial seeing ability and mind control abilities, and I've worked my arcane strengths to that, so I think I'd fit the bill"

Good.

Damian shakes his head. "You guys are getting technical again. I will see you later." He says, and returns to the portal.

Saurous walks outside the building, putting up a "Those of the Psychic, Magical, or otherwordly persuasion, inquire inside to join the Guild."

He then walks inside again, and walks into the guild hall, up the stairs to the tower, and enters one of the upper rooms. He begins placing portals to various points to the town.

[Mauril Everleaf]

Alright, so I'm here, what do I get to blow up? ((Feel free to add me in as a Scholomancer, Master of Evocation/Abjuration by way of Transmutation, with a Minor in Conjuration.)) I'll be spending most of my time over in The Lair, until I can get a second lab set up over here. Just hop over if you need me. Mauril walks back over to Sauros's portal to the Lair and teleprts away.

Pelgof strolls into the building, looking around at the architecture

A Mages' Guild? I might as well join. Where do I sign up?

A Retriever walks over to Pelgof and points him towards Saurous' desk. Saurous is sitting there, shuffling his books around. He looks at Pelgof

Greetings. I'm Saurous, Arch-Mage. Just write here your skills, class, and specializations.

Saurous stands up, tossing a book over to an Allip, who puts it away on a shelf.

"Let's see." Rex says scoping out the newbie.

I am experienced in most forms of magic, but foremost I am a practitioner of the art of Ratinas, but that cult is not recognised in this realm. What do you call those who shape shadows to hide, decieve and confuse?

It would be good to be back in a guild. Different to the ones he'd been in in the past, but the dark feel to the building encouraged him.

((He's not really D&D based, so class, specialisations might be tricky... A general all-round spellcaster, specialising in Ratinas, which is manipulating shadows and images. Just put whatever fits best.))

Ayya wanks in, seemingly out of place, dressed in a dirty bear skin dress, clutching a bloody greataxe. She walks right up to Saurous and says, without hesitation, ayya would like to join. ayya has 12 lvls in sorceress.

You will be allowed access to most magical and technological apparatuses in the guild, allowed magical training, and a variety of other things. You will be required to defend the guild and report any strange magical information or occurences to the guild. You also will aid in the training of your choosen school, as do all the leaders of the schools do. You also will not ask many questions about the quirky attitudes of the guild members and the guild itself.

Saurous looks at Ayya

Oh, hey Ayya. Here, do the same thing Pelgof just did.

"You'll be aiding in the teaching of illusions, and you will be permitted into the library, just not the forbidden sector yet." His right eye never leaves you, and you can feel him peering into your soul.

Quirky Attitudes? Don't worry, I've plenty of those myself. I look forward to working with the Guild, and teaching others my knowledge.

Pelgof nods at them, and begins to walk down a corridor. He stops, and turns back.

Umm... Which way is the library?

[Saurous]

Rex, there is no point in reading Ayya's mind. There is nothing there.

Saurous points down the hallway, and then makes a "Go to the left" motion with his hand. Meaning, "Go down the hallway, first door on the left"

okay, Ayya says, obviously having trouble reading the words on the paper. After awile she gives up and says her info out loud. ayya is very good at blasting stuff. ayya is a lvl 16 barbarian/ 12 sorceress/ 7 rogue/ 4 Bard. ayya guess ayya's spe-shul-i-zashun is blasting/smashing?

Saurous glares at the hooded figure, remembering him from the Lab incident.

Pelgof heads for the library, and begins looking through the selection of books.

Saurous walks into the library, walking over to a bookshelf, picking up a spellbook on various necromancy forms, leaning against the wall while reading.

Deigrian amuses himself by conjuring up a bowling alley and knocking down the pins with fireballs

Satisfied, Pelgof stops browsing the shelves. He glances at Saurous, nods farewell, and leaves the building.

[Raistlin1040]

Mage-of-all-trades hmm? Could use some work.
He then uses a spell to make the word "Head" appear in front of Mage-of-all-trades. Perfect.

[Saurous]

Saurous, still reading the book, waves his hand around, rearanging molecules in the air until they appear as a large, glowing symbol.

Symbol...of....Undeath...

Pelgof is really lucky he just left, otherwise he would've just been turned into an undead creature.


Saurous then puts the book away, and then leaves the building.

Retriever walks up to the member listings, and somehow manages to change Deigrian's position back to "Mage-of-all-Trades" with his claws. He then goes back to looking for the missing books on Transmutation.

A hologram of Magtok enters the building.

Hmm...I could always use more allies, and they seem to be missing my kind of talent...

Retriever walks over to Holotok and gives him a "one moment" motion with his claw. He then walks over to a scrying device, fumbles with a button, and a faint "beep-beep-beep" sound comes from it. A few minutes later, Saurous teleports into the entrance hall.

What is so important that you interupted my buisness at Trogs, Retriever?

He notices Magtok and speaks to him.

Oh, hello. I suppose you are Lord Magtok that I've heard so much about? You were the one in the A.M.E.N base the other day too.

[Lord Magtok]

Correct. I am also an original member of the Cornerstone's former Order of Evil. I seek allies, and I am only comfortable telling you all this because I am currently deceased.

[Saurous]

Ah, I see. I assisted in the battle on the Cornerstone, but was defeated by Destro and Regiji. I'd be happy to assist you. I believe you have gained alleigance from AMEN also?

[Meynolds]

A half-dragon walks in, glancing around to take it all in.

Who should I inquire to about joining this Guild?

[Lord Magtok]

Correct. I left the cornerstone, and didn't witness the battle, as I was too weak at the time to help when I sensed the battle coming.

[Maerok]

A black shadow, fringed with flames of blue and an icy essence, enters the guild compound, searching for Saurous. It introduces itself as Telaras, emissary and bodyguard to someone named Maerok.

[Lord Magtok]

((Is it me, or have there been about a billion new evil beings in Town in the last two weeks?))

[Saurous]

Saurous shakes his head violently, waking himself from his trance. ((I hate homework :smallannoyed:)) He looks towards the half-dragon.

I'm the one you should speak to to join.

Saurous hands him some parchment.

Write here your skills and abilities.

His eyes focus on Telaras.

I suppose your master Maerok would like assistance from the Guild?

Chance begins writing.

The parchment reads thus:

Favor Evocation, especially fire spells, due to immunity.
Can craft wands and staffs.

[Maerok]

"Yes, and no. More of a counter-assistance sort of deal. An alliance as he himself deals with the undead quite frequently as a dread necromancer. He also offers the services of a cavern colony beneath the Town, if you so choose to take him up on that offer."

[Saurous]

Saurous reads the parchment.

Ah, an Evocation master...Would you like to be head supplier of magical weapons?

Saurous listens to the messenger.

I do accept your offer.

[Maerok]

"Ah, my master will be most pleased. And he is never one to break his word. Take this mirror, it is a gateway into the caves, a place my master calls the UnderTown. Those who err towards good should be well advised to stay clear." The shadow discorporates into the air, leaving behind a large silver mirror. Instructions have been engraved on the back in Infernal: a handful of gravedust thrown into the mirror's surface opens a portal to the sixth level of the caverns. Another handful closes it.

[Saurous]

Saurous sighs and looks down into the mirror. He then lifts the mirror up, taking it up the stairs of the tower and into the portal room.

[Meynolds]

Meynolds speaks to Saurous:

I wouldn't say a "master", but I have enough skill to be mistaken as one. I certainty would like to be head supplier of magic weapons.

[Mauril Everleaf]

Mauril walks out of his quarters looking most dejected. He is holding several dismembered pieces of an unknown contraption. He hurls the tubes in his right hand through the nearest portal. Curses! I rain curses upon you! He then heads off to the portal that he threw the parts into, so that he might go retrieve them.

[Xaspian]

Pelgof walks in, and begins to wander around the corridors

[Saurous]

Saurous walks back down the tower stairs, and walks into the library. He walks over to a bookshelf, searching for a book. He pulls off "Spells of good an pink". As he pulls it off, the bookcase shifts, revealing a wall of grey material. Closer inspection reveals that it is a nigh-solid wall of flesh from some unlucky creatures. It has various runes inscribed in it, glowing an eerie red.

The flesh wall crumples away, revealing a small room. The room has a dark red portal in the back of it, and is otherwise featureless. The portal glows faintly, and then a demonic hand flies toward Saurous, pulling him through the portal.

Pelgof pokes his head around the door, and sees Saurous getting pulled through the portal. He shrugs.

So it's an evil guild this time? Ah well. It's been a while.

He waves his hands, and his eyes revert to their usual, pure black colour.

[Saurous]

Saurous falls through several feet of blackness, and then floats down the last few, floating above a pool of liquid. He floats forward a few feet, and then steps on the ground. The area around him reveals a huge area of various statues of dark gods. The area is filled with books and various devices on dark subjects. Similar pools that he floated over are around the edges of the room. He walks towards a wall of books, placing various books from his bag on the shelves. He then sighs, and steps back over the pool, that appears to be a dark red liquid. He then floats back up the entrance.

[Deus Mortus]

Tinderhall notices Saurous and silently casts detect evil and detect good.

[Lord Magtok]

Saurous, there you are. My new body will be finished sometime in the near future, and I'll need lodgings. Will you have a place available?

[Saurous]

Saurous appears through the portal in the library. The wall unfolds back, and the bookshelf slides back.

Yes, I will have lodging available, Magtok.

Tinderhall's spell reveals that Saurous is indeed Evil.

[Mauril Everleaf]

EUREKA! Mauril cries out from inside his makeshift hovel. He come bursting out of his doorway, beckoning all who are present to come close. I've done it! It is finally complete! It's the most perfect invention ever! Come and behold the majesty of my....... and then he suddenly disappears.

[Xaspian]

Pelgof runs towards the shoutings, and stares for a few seconds at the spot from which Mauril disappeared.

[Lord Magtok]

The hologram of Magtok says it is done here, and explodes with the force of a hand grenade.

[Saurous]

Saurous hears Mauril's rantings, and rushes towards the spot where he disapeared.

What, in the name of all things intelligent, happened?

[Xaspian]

Umm... He disappeared? I assumed things like that happened all the time, here...

[Saurous]

Well, that does happen alot. But normally it happens because someone did something stupid. He just suddenly disapeared.

[Xaspian]

I expect he'll turn up soon. Is it much of a problem?

[Mauril Everleaf]

Mauril pops back in, looking dishevelled and more than frazzled. Holy.... Let us never speak of this again....... Mauril slowly wanders away, his eyes as wide as saucers.

[Xaspian]

Pelgof shakes his head, shrugs, and wanders off.

[Deus Mortus]

Tinderhall looks at Saurous, So how is your library here?

[Saurous]

Oh, hello. Our library contains a very wide selection of books.

He gestures towards the large library he just left.

Are you planning on joining?

[Meynolds]

Chance moves over to the library, searching for texts on Draconic Magic.

[Deus Mortus]

Tinderhall takes one look at the library, Perhaps later, when your facility's aren't so very little.

He ports out to his realm.

[Xaspian]

Pelgof leaves the Guild Building through the front door.

[Saurous]

There are 10 books on draconic magic on one shelf, and 7 others on another.

Three interesting ones are: "Tome of the Dragon" "Draconic Magic for Morons" and "Draconic: Magic and other Topics"

Saurous walks back to the entrance hall, sits down at his desk, and starts playing "Oblivion" on his computer.

[Meynolds]

Chance picks up Tome of the Dragon, flies straight up, hovers, and begins to read.

He reads for several hours.

He flies down and asks Saurous a question.

Could I borrow this book for a while?

[Meynolds]

Shruging and presuming that the answer is yes, he walks out.

[Saurous]

Saurous quits his game, leaving the Guild hall.

[Xaspian]

Pelgof walks in, and goes into one of the laboratories.

He takes several crystals out of a pouch, and places them on the work bench. He begins casting spells on them.

Once the spells are cast, he holds them up to the light, smiles, and puts them back in the pouch.

He leaves.

[Rex Idiotarum]

Regina walks in...
"Crappy Remove curse not working against my own magic."

[Mauril Everleaf]

Mauril pokes his head out of his little cave. I'm sure I can effect the cosmetic changes. The underlying psychological issues, you'll have to deal with on your own, Regina.

[Rex Idiotarum]

"Eh, the Psychological issues aside, I have a spell cast upon me by my own strength and the force that reflected it, I doubt you can do much. Illusions will only hide the problem, and transfiguration, no matter how powerful, can't bypass the curse. I'll need to get it wished off, but I don't have the resources for that right now." She says, grumbling. and walks into the library, looking for a book of get rich quick schemes.

[Mauril Everleaf]

I mean if you need the "trouser titan" back, I can help. Curses I'm no good at. Transmogrifying things is what I do best. That and obliterating stuff.

[Rex Idiotarum]

"Like I said, Bestow Greater Curse: Gender Change would override even the best Transmogrifications. Even if I try shape change, It'll keep me a female version of the desired result." She says, pondering.

[Mauril Everleaf]

Having followed Regina over into the library, Mauril wonders how one can read will pogoing. Well, I also have the ability to transmogrify other things. I can't transmute stuff into gold or the like, it's against my code, but I can help you out with other things to make you some money, if you need. My contraption didn't work like it was supposed to, so I'm needing some more cash to upgrade it.

[Rex Idiotarum]

"Hm... I have an idea, it requires wisdom and intelligence. We'll provide evil plans for people." She says, obviously readig quite well despite the constant bouncing. Then, as if reading your mind, says, "After years of bouncing, your eyes get use to it, heck, if I stand still, everything looks like it bounces."

Kinda like the getting your "sea legs"? And these plans, what do you have in mind?

"Plans." she says, smirking.

[Saurous]

Saurous walks in through a portal, a floating black orb gliding above his hand. He walks by Regina and Mauril in the library.

Hello Mauril and....um...Rex?

Yes, Sauros? Regina and I are amidst concocting plans to make millions to give back Rex's "trouser titan". Feel free to join in.

[Rex Idiotarum]

"Well, resources are down all around. We don't have a steady source of income because people keep stealing all our books" throw the book she's holding into a red and black portal, "We'll appeal to people with our smarts. We'll get vengeance for people, and come up with needlessly complicated plans, for which to sell."

[Saurous]

There always is the plan to use massive amounts of arcane knowledge to loot and burn the entire town. But that could be plan C

Saurous walks into the library, places his bags and the orb onto the table, and begins searching the tomes on the shelf.

[Rex Idiotarum]

"Such a task would be too expensive to even think about doing" she says, taking another book off the shelf, this one has ACME written on the binding, "...yet"

[Saurous]

Saurous continues looking through the books, each one he finishs with continues to be in the air, floating around him.

"Mecheal's Gender Shift"..."Evil Plans for Morons"...The books never end, and you say you cannot find a good one?

Mauril, noticing the book that Regina just picked up Umm, you may want to reconsider. I wrote that book. It was also a get rich quick scheme. It worked. I got rich. But the thing about getting rich quick is that, unless you do something with it, you become poor quick. Stupid adventuring parties....

"No, all of these are basic stuff... Well," She tosses the book into the red portal and starts walking to the forbidden section, "Maybe..."

That is the precise reason there are wards and destructive weaponry in every corner of this place. And why powerful monsters are always around. You'd be surprised what Good adventurers will attack if they think it's "For the greater good".

Saurous puts the Acme book back, pulling out "Akbar's Ways to Get Rich Quick". He immediatly puts it back.

He puts the floating books back, walks over behind Regina into the section.

"What do you have?" she says, pulling out a key.

[Saurous]

Saurous glares at Mauril.

No, it was not.

He walks over to one of the bookshelves, pulling off "Spells of Pink and Good". The moment he pulls it off, the bookshelf shifts, revealing the flesh wall. Saurous mumbles words to himself, and the wall collapses, revealing the room with the portal.

Any moronic one-liners before the portal decides we're here to visit?

"let's see," Inserts key into pillar, the portal turns red and black, "no"

[Saurous]

A demonic hand reaches from the portal, pulling Saurous, Mauril and Regina into the portal. If you're going to scream, now would be the time.

Naw, I've been through this whole demon thing before. That's half, ....er, a third of my purpose.

The trio finds themselves falling several feet straight down. After what seems like hours, they splash down in a pool of liquid. Saurous pulls himself out of it.

You would have though I would have found this place before..... Oh well. So off to the demons, it is then? If the liquid is above 2 feet deep, Mauril has a difficult time sloshing through it. Either way, he makes sure to keep as much of his robe above water level as possible.

Not exactly demons...

Saurous puts his hand on one of the statues, one of a Minotaur-like Demi-God. Red, runic lettering jitters around on the stone and dark energy flows through it.

By the way Mauril, I don't think that is water...

Regina Pogos through the pool, trying to reach land, where a few of her own books are.

[Saurous]

((Oh come on, it's like a 5 foot by 5 foot pool of whatever. It's not going to do anything except get you somewhat wet and maybe mortify you if you're not used to what it is...))

Well, at least part of it is, because urine contains water, and that thing just scared me. Looks sheepish. Aha! Idea! Mauril casts an anti-matter shield around himself making a six inch gap between himself and the surrounding "water". Then a gust of wind comes from nowhere, dries Mauril and the others off, then is immediately gone. Much better. So did we need to bring some sort of sacrifice for this thing?

[Saurous]

You're almost there. It's not urine, but it's deffinately a bodily fluid.

The statue continues to glow, until it begins tottering around. The stone recoils, revealing the actual demi-god beneath. The creature looks around and says...

The Demi-god looks around, seeing Saurous, Regina and Mauril.

He looks at the Demi-god

Yes, I do. I require that you help me create an army. Larger than I have before.

Saurous pulls out the orb out of nowhere. He holds it up towards Demi-god. The creature takes it in his hands, looking at it with admiration.

Would this be enough of a payment?

I do not know. I usually do not conduct buisness with non-clerics. But I suppose I can help.

The orb dissapears suddenly, the lesser god smiling.

Pelgof walks in, and goes into a room. He vaguely wonders where everyone else is.

He begins to practice spells, changing the appearance of the room several times in succession.

A note appears in the hands of Saurous, saying "I have decided to join and will bring in some considerable extra facility's, I need but one small favour, when the police comes asking about demons and who summoned them, I want you to reply that they came from a powerfull wizard that lives by the coast across the sea and that you had heard about him wanting to take over here, but didn't think it was serious. With a hardy evil maniacal laugh, Tinderhall."

[Silas]

Silas enters the guild.

"Who's in charge here?"

[Rex Idiotarum]

Regina teleports up. "What does it matter?" and carefully analyzes the newcomer.

{Det. Alignment, True Seeing, Det. Thoughts.}

[Silas]

(True Nuetral and the last two come up blank)

"Because I'm an officer and I'd like to talk to who ever is in charge."

[Rex Idiotarum]

"Do you have a warrent?" she says, trying to buy time.

[Silas]

"Stall me any longer, and you'll be put under arrest for interfering. Now, who's in charge?"

[Rex Idiotarum]

"Saurous, but he's not here right now, now show me the warrent." She says asserting herself.

[Silas]

Silas eyes Regina.

(Cybernetic eyes: Detect Lies)

[Rex Idiotarum]

{Rubus Oculus, automatic suggestion if you fail, not my fault you gaze into my eyes, other then the sudden urge to leave, you get nothing viable, just that content bouncing up and down.}

"Eye wouldn't be trying anything. Unless you want to show me a warrent, you'll fail to get anything that'll hold up in court. Now, show me some papers, or go get a judge to rule a possible case."

[Silas]

Silas looks around, walking past Regina.

"Whatever, you won't find anything." Teleports off.

[Silas]

Silas stops searching a corner before he leaves a note.

He looks around one last time and leaves.

"..." Regina returns fuming, then heads up to Rex's tower, scrying upon the recent events

Pelgof stroll across the hallway, and notices Silas' note.

Oh dear. I'm sure it's not my fault this time...

He leaves.

He goes and knocks on Rex/Regina's door.

"Come in" a dreary voice from insides says.

I was just wondering what this guild's purpose was. You seem to know what goes on here, so I thought I'd ask you.

As he enters he notices that the room is swirling with red and black energies. As she looks up, the energies withdraw.

"We are here for many reason, it is but one piece in a wall, sit down"

[Xaspian]

Pelgof goes and sits in the most obvious chair.

"We are in association with a few other guilds, so that we can unite the town, or at least a majority, but this alliance is secret."

He blinks rapidly a couple of times.

He walks down to the main hall, and pockets the note left by the police.

Saurous walks through, several books under his arm, and a few pieces of some unfortunate construct in the other. He walks through. He then says, to no one in particular:

Regina Teleports next to him.
"You were to be arrested, but I took care of it."

Saurous looks over to him/her, his eyes wide in mock surprise

I wonder why.

He looks down at the pieces of construct.

If you were wondering, Retriever had an "accident". I'm taking him to put him back together.

Saurous begins walking off.

He places a "The Wizard is: OUT. Check in one of the towers" sign on the front desk, and walks outside. He then walks over to a newly-built tower, climbing up it to the top.

((Man, how come when I talk to an officer about charges, it usually ends with me getting knocked unconscious.))

Saurous walks back out of the tower, the newly rebuilt Retriever behind him. He has some newly added undead qualities, but is otherwise normal.

Now then, next time, don't mess with the exploding runes in the library. 95% of the time it ends badly.

Retriever nods, walking back towards the main building. Saurous walks back up his tower, back to the very top room again.

((Yeah, yeah. I'll get to it eventually. Also, what about Destro? The Guild isn't necessarily reserved for Evil characters. It's just for magic and psionic characters))

A few minutes later, Saurous teleports to the grounds, and then teleports away.

A couple of Shadows float outside, carrying a smaller sign. They place it atopt the first sign. It now says:

Now searching for those that fit the requirements to be Head of Conjuration, Head of Transmutation, Head of Enchantment, and Head of Psionics.

Triumphant at last. My skilled enchantments have bested my mortal enemy.

Saurous appears in a burst of black flame. The flame scorches the floor nearby him. By the look on his face, Saurous is obviously pissed. All plant life nearby wilts and falls apart. He marches off toward the library, trying not to kill anyone. He pulls out a random book off the shelf, and begins reading. He makes an annoyed mumble when he finds it's "The book of Pink". He frowns, the book igniting. He pulls off another book, reading quietly.

[Meynolds]

Chance walks in and walks towards a lab.

He pulls out Tome of Dragon and opens it to page 353.

He begins laying out the scales on the swords and placing a scale on each.

He begins to intone, slightly loudly:

Wers cayosine nishka jaka qe levex mrith wer arcaniska di darastri jennu. Astahii nishka rinov gocahel tepoha dastudren.

As he chants, each blade absorbs the scale and turns the color of the scale.

Nomag wer terning qe zexenumaen!

There is a large flash of light, 15 colors combining as one, and then it fades.

In front of chance are 15 blades, each the color of a dragon.

((They are now equal to +5 keen Ghost touch longswords))

Chance is barely standing, and falls to the ground.

[Saurous]

Saurous puts the book back on the shelf, leaving the library. He enters the lab, finding Chance laying on the ground. Saurous' mood doesn't seem to change. He looks at the book in Chance's hands, and the swords laying on the table.

Ah, that daft fool...

[The Nine]

Something black and wispy sweeps into the guild. It moves through walls, down hallways, and up staricases trying to find someone to speak to.

[Saurous]

Saurous senses the creature, turning and walking out of the lab.

Oh, hello....Necromancy.

[Meynolds]

((The spell has no side effects, except for a killer headache and tiredness for a few hours thanks to a few variations of Chance's.))

Chance manages to stand up and notices Saurous.

Don't worry, I remembered all the proper wards. Yet my head still hurts. Here, you can have your book back.

Chance hands Saurous his book.

Grab one of the swords. Consider it a gift. I'll try to find the other members of the Guild and give them one if you don't mind. But the Gold one is mine.

Saurous lifts a pure black one. He weighs it thoughtfully.

This will do.

He walks back out and waits for Necromancy to respond.

[The Nine]

Greetings. I seem to remember this place, and yet I have never been here. But I am Necromancy, or at least used to be. I wish to join. It seems to me that I should join, and who am I to ignore what I tell myself?

[Saurous]

Yes, yes, I know who you are. You are free to join.

Saurous picks up a piece of parchment, writing down several notes.

Welcome to the Guild.

[Meynolds]

He speaks to Necromancy, motioning at the swords.

Since you're now a member of the Guild, do you want one of these swords?

And to Saurous:

I'm off to Trog's. They'll probably all come through there eventually.

[The Nine]

The thing that was Necromancy nods. I will abuse my power to the most evil of intentions. It then looks thoughtful. That seemed like the right thing to say. It picks up the white sword, which immediately becomes wispy, and sheathes it. Then it heads off to explore the rest of the guild.

((Have to go for dinner. Later))

Chance collects up all the remaining blades and heads off to Trog's.

A portal opens inside the guild, and Magtok's ghost emerges.
I would like to join this guild. I believe my abilities fit the requirements.

Hello again, Magtok.

Saurous almost hands parchment to Magtok, but then remembers that he is incorporeal. He instead asks:

There are some I wish to keep under the veil of secrecy. Those you may see at some other time.

I have the ability to turn flesh to metal and circuitry, a process known as android-ification or cyborg-ization. The cyborg one would be when I choose to not finish the transformation on a target.

There is also telekinesis, telepathy, and with my eye...

He takes off his wispy hood, revealing a ghostly red robot eye.

I can analyze a target's blood pressure, heart rate, and other things like that.

[Saurous]

Saurous writes this down.

Since Saurous's player left, the ghost heads off to some foreign dimension for supplies for the lab.

Mauril rouses from his deep slumber in his bed chambers. Being part elf you'd think I would sleep less. He yawns, and stumbles over to the library to find a book about transmutation.

((Meynolds, I want one of Chance's swords. Which ones do you have left?))

[Xaspian]

((I'd have a sword too. Hunt me down.))

Pelgof walks in, and wanders around for a while.

[Rex Idiotarum]

((I get the red one.))

[Mauril Everleaf]

((I call blue, if it hasn't been taken yet.))

Mauril absently wanders out of the library and walks into a room that he believes to be his (he is still reading a book he took from the library). AAAAAAHHHHHH! You pervert! You see Mauril rush out, and a woman in a towel hitting him with a scrub brush. Stop hitting me! I didn't mean to! GAH!

[Meynolds]

((My character will be at Trog's, so come there for a sword. Blue has not been called yet, nor red.))

[Saurous]

((Save a pink one for Ayya if you have one. That could end badly for the Guild if Ayya doesn't recieve one in pink...))

Saurous shakes his head, waking himself up. He looks around, and then walks off towards a tower. He leaves a small note on his desk, saying:

I'm currently in the divination tower. The southernmost one. If you happen to need me, just enter the tower or send me a message."

[Meynolds]

((That could be a problem. I could always enchant the Crystal one to be pink.))

Chance walks in and walks to the labs, pulling out a pink crystal.

He places the crystal on the crystal blade and casts a spell, turning the blade pink.

He leaves the lab and tosses Mauril the blue blade. He then gives the red blade to Rex.
((Going through any dimensions necessary to do so.))

[Saurous]

An unnamed NPC man stumbles in. He appears very dishoveled, and has a frightened look on his face.

Wh-wh-where is y-y-your leader?

He aims the question to anyone within hearing distance. He looks around nervously, as if he expected the cieling to cave in on him.

Back at the Divination tower, Saurous is looking in various crystal balls and machienery, looking for what it is he needs to see.

[Meynolds]

Chance looks at the man quizzically, and tells him Saurous is out.

[Rex Idiotarum]

Regina appears, "He is available, why do you request him?"

[Saurous]

The lets out a scream, as if someone just pulled his legs off. His upper body slouches, hanging over his legs. A few moments later, he straightens, his body tensing. He is much calmer now, his eyes are dull and emotionless. He begins speaking.

Tell him the Demi-god wanted to see him.

The man speaks oddly, a deep, demonic voice sounds over his own. He turns around, walking towards the door. Before he reaches the door, he collapses to the ground, having what looks like a seizure. He continues for a few moments, before collapsing, limp to the ground.

[Meynolds]

Chance shugs and goes off to find Saurous.

Saurous, someone named the Demi-god wants to talk to you. I think he's in the front of the Guild, but I'm not sure.

[Rex Idiotarum]

*Sigh* "You could always have used telepathy, but noo... Hey, Chance, do you still have the Red Blade?"


To Saurous in telepathy: Your demigod want to see you.

[Saurous]

Saurous walks out of the door, climbing back down the tower.

Demi-god can never just send a telepathic message...he must always send a possessee. He may be an emissary for Lerull, but still..

He continues, picking up a book along the way. It's labeled "Speaking with demonic entities and YOU."

[Meynolds]

((A few posts ago I gave it to you, and I quote: "He then gives the red blade to Rex. ((Going through any dimensions necessary to do so.))" ))

Of course demigods can't send telepathic messages, it would be too anticlimatic.

[Rex Idiotarum]

The Red Blade falls from a portal onto Regina, "Ouch, well, it probably got lost."

The blade grows thin and Rapier-like. "That's better"

[Meynolds]

Darnit! I really need to work on my teleportation spells.

[Mauril Everleaf]

((They can become other weapons? I think I'll need to make mine into an axe. If this works then I do the following, if not I do nothing.))

Mauril looks at his blue blade, and begins to concentrate heavily. Magicks begin to swirl around his hands and the blade begins to glow white. There is a blinding flash and then, where there once was a sword, now lies a battle axe, tinted blue by the magic of the dragon from whence it came, and you almost think that you can see sparks coursing over its surface.
Much better. Mauril takes a couple of chops with his new blade. Seeming satisfied, he goes back to his studies. Absently, Thanks Chance.

[Rex Idiotarum]

"This is Nice, what's it's abilities, Fire Right?" She says, swishing the blade so fast it becomes a red blur.

[Mauril Everleaf]

I would guess that, and maybe some Fire Resistance, maybe some other abilities. Who knows? Find a diviner to identify it for you. I mean we are in a Mage Guild.

[Meynolds]

((They can become other weapons, but it does take some concentration.))

It does have some fire powers, but they only manifest themselves in periods of extreme emotion, whatever it happens to be. The power corresponds to the color of the dragon it came from.

[Rex Idiotarum]

"I am the Diviner." She says, without a glance, "I just didn't want to waste a spell and just ask him."

[Mauril Everleaf]

So I got electricity and all that, right? What age was this dragon? I'm looking forward to some of those abilities.
((So I could potentially get all of it's spell like abilies? What about SR?))

((Just adds Flaming Burst, Icy Burst, Shocking Burst, or the like depending on the sword, also frightful presence as an old dragon. Plus resistance as an old dragon of the appropriate type. Any more would be too overpowered.))

You're welcome. It does manifest electricity, and all the blades give resistance to the appropriate element. They were all old if I'm not mistaken.

Saurous pulls out his pure black longsowrd, turning it slowly into a dagger, scythe, and then back into a longsword.

Neat.

He waits for Demi, changing the shape of his sword several times.

So, what exactly is my weapon capable of doing? Other than shapeshifting?

Most excellent. Now to try it out. Mauril begins to cast a spell. A summoning circle appears on the ground not too far from him. The circle glows green and avery bewildered orc appears in the middle. The glow fades and Mauril takes a swipe with his new axe. The orc shrieks in pain, then crumples to the ground, dead. I like it. Now to name it.....

"Mine's name is Malandor" Regina says.

Does that have a special meaning?

Well, there's always the obvious, slicing through armor like butter, hewing swords in half, and the like. During periods of high emotions, Black Dragon Blades produce sonic waves on command. Oddly Black Dragons breath acid, and any other dragon blades based on dragons that do breath acid are always sonic. Any made from crystal can be used as an amplifier.

An android of Magtok's enters the building. It scans random things of interest, and calls a couple NPCs meatbags as well.

((Gray doesn't exist. Think dragon colors, including the gem dragons.))

Mine has been named Darasron. An abreviation of the Dragonic phrase Darastrix's Jusron, literally Dragon's Wrath.

((I would have thought the metallics would have gone faster. Hmmmm.))

The android proceeds to examine the blade giving person, and scans him for any unusual non-magical energy signatures.

[Meynolds]

((Too many evil people in the Guild, that's what it is! Magtok --> Green is the only evil color I can think of.))

{The android finds few non-magical signatures, only three actually, a chess set and two books.}

[Rex Idiotarum]

"Huh, I don't know, that's all it said."

[Lord Magtok]

((Wait. I went to wikipedia, and obsidian dragon seems interesting. That available?))

The android then scans the books, and attempts to analyze the text.

[Meynolds]

((It's available. I just missed it when listing them.))

{One of the books is just gibberish to anyone but Chance, and the other lists a few draconic spells Chance knows.}

Sensing the android scanning him, Chance creates a block around the second book.

[Lord Magtok]

The android then turns toward the books, and scans as much as it can. All data is stored away in its mind, and it is pleased with the lack of violence so far.

[Mauril Everleaf]

Mauril, who has been thinking the whole time and not paying any attention to what has been going on, suddenly perks up. I've got it! Chedra. I will call it Chedra. ((Pronounced similar to SHAY-druh.))

[Lord Magtok]

The android finishes scanning, and is sucked into a portal that suddenly appears in a wall.

The android does not return, and his absence is replaced by Magtok's ghosht a moment later.

[Saurous]

Saurous shakes his head awake.

I don't believe Demi is going to get here by conventional means. He's known for his flare. Also, a black dragon blade that doesn't use acid? Who's idea was that?

((I'm guessing that that is what was implied))

[Lord Magtok]

Magtok looks back in time a few moments, and figures out what is going on. He comes back, and examines Saurous's blade with curiosity.

Saurous shows off for a moment, changing his sword from the longsword, to a scythe, to a dagger, to a spear, and back to a sword.

((You realize that that expends tremendous amounts of energy to do? I wouldn't chance killing yourself or blowing up the sword with all the morphing.))

Mauril, satisfied with his new axe, and she with her name, heads off to his study to begin some research.

((I think we should take some leftover blade, and paint it pink for Ayya. Or, we could breed red and white dragons.:smallamused: ))

With that he casts sleep on himself.

Saurous stops with his shifting, putting his sword back. He walks into the library, pulling down a book on conjuration.

Oh, and just a notice. If you happen to come across masters of Conjuration, Enchantment, or Transmutation, ask if they want to join. We need Heads of those schools still.

What can I say? Being a Scholomancer has its perks. ((Technically, everything I do is a form of Transmutation. Scholomancers are Masters of Entropy. Summoning stuff is basically controlling quantum entropy to phase an entire creature at once rather than only a few random particles. My Evocation spells are done similarly, but with energy rather than matter. My Anti-Matter blast is the reverse of a summoning, and my anti-magic blast basically creates anti-entropy and the organization cancels out the disorganization of assembling magic energies. I can also heal with a similar method. I'll make sure to put all of this in my character profile.))
