Hi.

I was hoping you guys could help me with some suggestions towards a possible Prestige Class for my sorcerer. Human, chaotic good.

Thanks in advance.

Some background:

My ability stats at level 4:

Str 10
Dex 12
Con 14
Wis 8
Cha 19

Regarding skills I’ve put them into Bluff, Concentration, Knowledge Arcana, and Use Magic Device (cross class).

No Spellcraft as you can see, which I decided against because I felt it fit more the wizard class. I have 4 though (1 Int, 1 rank, 2 synergy from Knowledge Arcana).

I’ve taken alternative class Metamagic Specialist from PHBII, so no familiar.

I’ve been given the 4 wizard bonus feats by my GM, (but only usable on metamagic feats). My feats so far are: Combat Casting, Improved Initiative, Spell Focus Conjuration. I might be able to persuade my GM to let me choose the first three feats anew. Total of 12 feats at level 20.

I had planned to take the following feats: Lvl 5: Heighten, 6: Augment Summoning, 9: Sculpt spell.

I’m playing with two other characters: a Paladin and a backstabbing Rogue (sneak attack that is). If an NPC controlled by the GM is with us it’s usually a generic fighter type.

The campaign is low magic, and Arcana is looked upon with suspicion. (The Paladin struts his divine magic around while I have to watch in horror while the local bishop burns arcane users at the stake.)

As you could see from my planned feats I was thinking of focusing on conjuring and summoning to allow control of the battlefield and opportunities for sneak attacks.

So, do you think there are some prestige classes I could or should level into? I think my GM would prefer if it wasn’t something too flashy, and that could easily fit into the campaign. Perhaps one with low prerequisites if I’ve nothing else fit.

Thanks again for any replies.

Well, let's see.

If you wanted to be able to masquerade as a divine caster, you could take levels in Exalted Arcanist (http://dndtools.eu/classes/exalted-arcanist/), seeing as it adds several handy spells to your list that are normally divine-only.

Mage of the Arcane Order (http://dndtools.eu/classes/mage-of-the-arcane-order/) would be really great for some added versatility, but based on your campaign setting, I'd imagine that such an order would be well-hidden.

Finally, Sand Shaper (http://dndtools.eu/classes/sand-shaper/) could be pretty darn good, especially if you use Improved Sand Shape to get some free flanking sans wasting spell slots on weak summons.

I'm sure there will be others with much more useful thoughts.

Thanks a lot for the reply Malonkey.

I think you're right in that Mage of the Arcane Order perhaps will be well hidden in this campaign. And I don't think Sand Shaper fits in the lush farming lands we've been adventuring in.

But Exalted Arcanist was interesting, although I would have to wait until level 8 to reach base will save 5 since I've got -1 on my ability modifier. I'll read up on it.

When they say "Base save", they mean the saves from purely your class. The Modifier isn't part of the base, it's, well, a modifier.

Thanks for clearing that up.
