boosting dispel magic enchantment

Simply put can the dispel check on a dispel magic (greater if there is one, haven't looked in some time) be boosted to the point at which it'd have any bearing on epic play? If so how?

You can boost dispel checks from Dispel Magic, but if you're trying to dispel things at epic levels Disjunction and/or epic spells do it better. Since both of those things are kind of awful (in a game-wrecking way), though, here are the ways that I know of to boost Dispel Magic use:

Chain Dispel (in Player's Handbook II) offers what I believe is the highest out-of-the-box dispel check, capping out at a +25 bonus. Greater Dispel Magic (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/dispelMagicGreater.htm) and Reaving Dispel (in Spell Compendium) both top out at +20.

Reserves of Strength (in Dragonlance Campaign Setting) is a feat that breaks the normal caster level caps on spells at the cost of either being stunned or taking some damage. It allows you to exceed the normal cap of Dispel Magic (etc.) if your caster level is high enough.

The Inquisition domain (in Spell Compendium) gives you a +4 bonus on dispel checks. The feat Elven Spell Lore (in Player's Handbook II) gives you a +2 bonus, though note that it only works on Dispel Magic and Greater Dispel Magic. The Master Specialist PrC (in Complete Mage) gives specialist Abjurers a bonus on dispel checks equal to half your levels in said PrC. The spell Spellcaster's Bane (in Complete Mage) gives you a short-lived bonus +2 bonus.

That one in particular, no. You'd have to have a custom item with a higher CL/other bonuses. Probably better off getting the effect from your casting in some way (epic level fighter-types tend to still be casters, after all :smallwink:).

For example, if your DM designed a weapon special ability that case Disjunction, rather than Dispel Magic, or one that cast Greater Dispel Magic with a high caster level (and possibly some of the boosts Karnith mentioned).

It's a silly game where the GM would say "yes" no matter what I ask for, hence I'd rather not request something that'd be too powerful. :smallfrown:

So it's a flat out "Can't do it"? Do any abilities the crafter might have cary through?

Not by default. Carrying through anything special would require a custom item.
