This came up in our last session. One of our players is a 2nd level zen archer who thought he could make attacks of opportunity with unarmed strikes while holding a longbow. I looked up the zen archer archetype and the 9th level ability is Reflexive Shot which allows AoO to be made with an arrow, and the Snap Shot feat gives a similar ability, but both abilities apply to arrow. I'm wondering if monks have some unique ability to make AoO with their feet while carrying a ranged weapon. The monk description says they can make unarmed strikes while their hands are full, which presumably means that they threaten adjacent squares, but it doesn't specify whether they can make AoO with unarmed strikes as well.

Yes he can. Since the monk can make unarmed strikes while its hands are full, he is considered armed, and so he threatens things inside his natural reach (presumably 5'), meaning he can make AoOs if anyone provokes them.

What he said.

Also, even though a Bow is a 2-handed weapon, it can be held in one hand.
And since it's a Free Action to grab>nock an arrow, he has 1 perfectly free hand whenever he's not actively shooting his Bow.
