Brief Introduction

My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic is a reboot of the MLP franchise by Powerpuff Girls artist Lauren Faust, currently viewed by (almost) the entire Internet, not only the intended audience. Here is a place where we discuss the joy of friendship.

It's a clever show. It has excellent writing, character dynamics, humor, animation, and generally treats kids seriously rather than condescending to them. It has every right to be a 20 minute corporate committee designed infomercial, but it's not.

Pixar technically makes shows for little boys, and produce some of the best animation in the world.

No Brony could ask for more. I recommend watching the episodes in order. They're all up on Youtube. Unusually, Hasbro seems fine with having the entire series up in public because they've made no move to bring down any of the episodes. Search for "Friendship is Magic Episode 1" and you should find the series pretty easily... Or search for "Sharing is Magic" Google Doc. That is all.

Whoa, calm down there. The show is light hearted, optimistic fun but it's not for everyone. It's good fun, the community is good fun, and everyone can do with a reminder that friendship is magic but if it doesn't gel for you we'll love and tolerate you anyway. Plus, you might hit the wrong episode. Ask first?

> Derpy Hooves/Doctor Whoof

Two minor background characters who were adopted as emblems of 4chan. Derpy Hooves is so named due to an animation error in the first episode that had her eyes facing in different directions; 4chan has assigned her the role of Ponyville's mailpony, and her only line so far has been "Muffins". The show's animators are aware of Derpy's popularity and she's shown up a few times recently with her eyes obviously derped. Currently made canon in Feeling Pinkie Keen and in Faust's picture showcased below, Derpy was deemed important enough to appear in storyboards for Season II.

Dr. Whoof is a pony with an hourglass cutie mark; he and his kin save time and space very quietly off camera.

Deadly's Ironically Presented Anti-Spoiler Measures

DO YOU HATE SPOILER TAGS?

Well, Deadly's here to help you get rid of them... with a vengeance! Create a new bookmark in your browser and copy the code below as the link/url of said bookmark. Name it something helpful, like "Spoilers B GONE!" or whatever. Then whenever you view a thread here on GitP you just hit the bookmark and BAM! no more spoilers.

You won't even see the boxes, just the bare innards in all their gory glory.

It also makes sure that no image is wider than 600px, to avoid stretching pages, and will attempt to "intelligently" remove repeated images except avatars. Neat, huh? Sadly that last part means stuff like pony emotes may get lost but the forum doesn't make it easy for me to single out images in quotes as I'd have liked... that's an open problem, I guess.

Tested in Firefox, Chrome and Opera. Should work in any modern browser, but you never know with these things.

There is something to be said for literally being able to go from a CAD design one afternoon to a completed production model by meditation time.

This is a first. Not only is is by far the quickest turnaround of any ground vehicle I've ever done, but it's clever model, pushing the envelope of what we can do (aside from the base turret plus top turret, the three main turret guns are replaceable, as in you can swap them during the game). And the really clever part, for those of you that actually know anything about 3D printing - NO SUPPORTS.

(For those of you not as familiar, the Replicator 2 prints a bit like squeezing layers of toothpaste, so for things that don't start on the bottom level, it means you have to put in a support structure so that the toothpaste has something to rest on. The Makerbot software puts in way too many, so we've been trying to find the optimal geometry to reduce or eliminate the need. We've found it'll do 45º and steeper slopes no problem without supports, and it'll bridge a good 5mm or more between supports - and it'll even do about 05mm overhang without any support at all.)

Well, nearly - strictly speaking, there is a Bleakbane-built small crosshatch support in the hollow of the main turret, because a 10mm gap is a bit much for the Rep 2 bridge (well, it might actually just, but I was being safe), but that was the work of about two minutes with a small screwdriver to get off. But that's it - everything else requires no additional work. (Even the guns went on this time, though getting the off again may prove tricky, so they probably do need a touch with a drill just to clear the passage - the Rep 2 isn't perfect).

Estimated cost of Eques Heavy Tank from Shapeways, based of similar sized Cybertank Resistor I MBT approximately £7-8. Actual cost of Eques Heavy Tank from Replicator 2 (11 grams material used @ £25/litre) 30p plus 110 minutes build time.

Damn, this technology is amazing.

I tell you, when we eventually have to give this one back and/or Dad buys the one with two nozzles which has a soluable support material Shapeways will likely never get a look in again!

Pictures (of both pony-coloured CAD model - and physical model!) will have to follow another day, though I'm afraid.

Well, I finally finished another story. I've reread a couple of times and am still in that delusional state where I think it might be pretty good, but no one else has seen it yet, and I'm not too comfortable hitting "Submit" it on it with that in mind. Ponythread has come through for me with great input in the past, so I'm humbly asking once more for thoughts, suggestions and so forth!

It's just over 7000 words, so nothing huge. The story features Celestia and Sunset Shimmer, so Equestria Girls is necessary to be able to understand it. It doesn't, however, take place in the human world.

Slice of Life

When Twilight left the human world, she left Sunset Shimmer to the care of her friends. Thirty moons later, she returns to Equestria, seeking judgment for her crimes from her former mentor, hoping that some form of punishment - a stint in the royal dungeons, perhaps - will help her come to terms with the past. If only it were that simple.

If we get a Rainbow Dash rock solo at some point, then this entire movie, no matter how completely and utterly abysmal it might be otherwise, will be totally worth it. :smalltongue:

The first one was alright and didn't affect the main show, don't see how this one will be any different (At least in the show-affecting category, quality is still up for grabs.) My only concern is if this results in season 5/season 6 being another half-season.

Can't say if true, of course, but I must admit I had hoped they'd do something else next, a proper pony movie about ponies being ponies (possibly involving the sea). If these rumors are true, that hope seems even closer to never happening :smallfrown:

You do realize that almost any pony movie premise can be delivered via the actual show right? Two parters or even a single episode... its all essentially a fairly short story format. The longer the movie (not that you'd get a long kids movie!) the more it needs to be padded out to feel properly paced.

And I seriously just do not get the desire for a pony movie. I never have.

Maybe by base isn't expansive enough but the only movie based on a television show I can think of that actually worked well was Serenity. Probably because Whedon took the time to make it neophyte friendly and everyone involved can sell their characters in five seconds.

Animation? Yeah I've seen this time and again with anime, and they all suck. At least there you have get some nice animation sequences maybe, something I'm not sure Flash will support as easily. The stories are never very good, it seems like writing "The Movie" for an ongoing franchise just creates a sort of mental constipation that prevent meaningful stories.

And Western animation's record is probably worse. Going back to the 80s Transformers was a **** parade cartoon to start, the movie was just as bad and actually had consequences. And they were all bad ones, look at how it didn't last! Don't get me started on the cowardly and unsuitable music. GI Joe's was little better, Cobra is secretly supported by mystical snake people! And they almost pulled the same cast slaughter to push new toys but Hasbro learned kids actually didn't like their main casts being slaughtered so it was all swept under the rug.

Powerpuff Girls I saw once and it made so little impression I can't remember a damn thing about it. I think everyone forgot the Spongebob movie. Simpson movie was maybe reasonable but kinda the same trap as anime.

Seem to me you want to make a movie... you have to make a movie not the movie.

Oh and we can see about the level Hasbro is willing to throw down with Equestria Girls. Animation wasn't seriously better, story was alright if you don't have kneejerks to "high school" as a premise.

So yeah I don't see what exactly people expect that's worth actually happening and being excited about. I think people are just setting themselves up for some pretty massive dissapointments should it actually happen. It will be... an extra two parter maybe. I'm not convinced the show has said it can really equal say the Royal Wedding reliably.

So yeah.... Pass.

I think I might dispute most for Batman stuff as stuff like that Batwoman one was forgettable and there's cases like Brainiac Attacks from Superman.

Return of the Joker was good because it acted as an appropriate Beyond finale. Until JLU couldn't leave well enough alone anyways.The World's Finest is sometimes billed as one but I've watched it in ordinary rotation too... both are cases in point that they act maybe as extra multiparter episode. Both for shows that support that kinda thing better as reasonably serious faire.

Sorry while I don't feel a need to actually hold any expectation for that kinda stuff to actually happen. If it does... ehh whatever but it seems that the high water mark is only as good as the source material just edited differently.

You have some good points, so it's cool. If a movie is done after the series is over with, then at least anyone disinterested to it can just ignore the movie without it affecting the series (unlike a movie in between seasons like Transformers which affects the main show a lot).

I'm currently (well Dad is anyway...) doing a proofing run of the Auxilia Recon Drone, prior to finishing up the fine detail (which is the one that's been Pinkiefied), so it only has one mount. (Should be done later.)

(It should also be noted I'm cribbing the colours of the ponies off the MLP wikia and getting the direct RGB values, rather than sampling them from main source, so it'd be more effort to track down the appropriate colours for the cutie marks anyway.)

Not really... You see, the way it works is TurboCAD lets you define materials for the shapes you make (all my models are created via basically booleaned 3D shapes). You really need them be coloured so you can see what you're doing, so fairly early on, I figured out how to create my own materials and create a sort of plastic-y material, which I then simply change the colour of (via RGB values). I've got a large chunk of my basic materials being the (now outdated) Citidel paints range (since that's what colours they'd actually be painted). So it's not that hard to create a new material or 3-5 for pony colour if I have the RGB values. (I actually file the pony colours away in a seperate folder section from "Starship hulls" labelled "ZPonies", since I don't use them as much.)

With rocket, gatling and railgun turrets.

You can't tell from this picture (or even from the model, actually!) but the guns have clearance to elevate and depress to 15º. The gatlings, of course, require that little bit more elevation, so they actually have an articulation point just in front of the turret itself.

The top turret of course has a full range of rotation, but the model defaults at a 45º angle - because the replicator can print that with out support material.

Unfortunately, I had time to recolour the Eques, because the Rep 2 isn't co-operating at the moment! Partly, we suspect it's because we've come to the end of the current reel of PLA, but we're not quite sure. Shows the technology, wonderful as it is, is still not as straight-forward as the magic plug-and-play some people seem to think it is.

(Mostly the ones who are under the impression you can print things like guns... Which is, by the by, might barely be plausible, but since you still have to machine out the barrel, it's still going to be cheaper to make 'em in your backyard the old-fashioned way...!)

So yeah I don't see what exactly people expect that's worth actually happening and being excited about. I think people are just setting themselves up for some pretty massive dissapointments should it actually happen. It will be... an extra two parter maybe. I'm not convinced the show has said it can really equal say the Royal Wedding reliably.

So yeah.... Pass.

I guess that's more or less true, though I think it'd be cool to get a three parter episode. I don't know what it would be on, but I imagine they could do something cool with it.

(Second synopsis for Pinkie Pride):
Pinkie Pie finds her status as “super - duper party pony” in jeopardy when the mysterious Cheese Sandwich comes to town and offers to plan an epic birthday party for Rainbow Dash. Guest voiceover by Weird Al.

February 8 – “Simple Ways”: Rarity has a crush on travel writer, Trenderhoof, and plans to wow him with her ideas for the upcoming Ponyville Days Festival. But Trenderhoof soon has a crush of his own, and Rarity finds herself competing with Applejack for his attention.

February 15 – “Filli Vanilli”: When a member of the singing group, the Ponytones, has to drop out of an important performance, Fluttershy takes drastic measures to ensure that the show goes on.

Quite enjoyable (though I tend to like everything so not sure that counts). I'm afraid I can't really offer much more in the way of honest literary critique, since that's not my business, but it seemed well put together.

Read it, seems fairly good. Unfortunately I can't really think of anything else to say.

I think the story is good enough to make public and see what the rest of FIMfiction makes of it.

On the other hand, one of the simplest ways to induce paralyzing fear is to form a chorus saying everything's fine. Trust us.

Be that as it may, for now I'm still looking for cover art (because a) why not, and b) it gives me an excuse to dawdle). I found something on deviantart that would fit, but am still waiting for a reply. Maybe I should commission something, but there's so many artists out there and I'm rubbish at deciding what a good motive would be.

Knowing the story, if a piece of artwork you've seen would happen to be a great fit, or if you can recommend an artist, be sure to mention it!

Well, I finally finished another story. I've reread a couple of times and am still in that delusional state where I think it might be pretty good, but no one else has seen it yet, and I'm not too comfortable hitting "Submit" it on it with that in mind. Ponythread has come through for me with great input in the past, so I'm humbly asking once more for thoughts, suggestions and so forth!

It's just over 7000 words, so nothing huge. The story features Celestia and Sunset Shimmer, so Equestria Girls is necessary to be able to understand it. It doesn't, however, take place in the human world.

Slice of Life

When Twilight left the human world, she left Sunset Shimmer to the care of her friends. Thirty moons later, she returns to Equestria, seeking judgment for her crimes from her former mentor, hoping that some form of punishment - a stint in the royal dungeons, perhaps - will help her come to terms with the past. If only it were that simple.

I wrote this one entirely on fimfiction to test its story writer tool, so I'd like to offer a fimfiction link (http://www.fimfiction.net/chapter/398043). The password is orderofstick.
Nice story! It's a good introductory chapter and makes me interested in more, which is a good thing. I liked the conversation between Twilight and Sunset.

Twilight seems to take Shimmer's verbal accusations surprisingly well, especially for Twilight Sparkle, who is hardly sociable and rarely takes things well. I also note that both ponies had been very anti-social students under Celestia, although I'm not sure if you are leaving that conversation out for a later chapter.

I'll just go ahead and wrap this in spoiler tags, at least as much for space as for actual spoilers (the only thing potentially spoiled is my own story, but it's something)

I've only read the bit that was available as a preview on deviantArt - the backstory, and I took a good number of cues from it and made sure that my story would fit, but consciously didn't reference it directly; only the movie. Moments like Celestia's remorseful "One of many" definitely reassured me that my interpretation of what Celestia would feel about Sunset leaving wasn't too far off the mark. I assume you'd have mentioned it if there were glaring contradictions of my story with the comic, so I'll be hopeful as far as that goes. It's not trivial to get the comic in Germany and I've been successfully avoiding reading scans so far; I just love to experience brand new pony on actual paper and ink too much.

The Twilight of my story is a bit older, a bit wiser and a bit more confident than the one seen in EqG - sort of how I imagine she would be like after thirty moons of princesshood. Still dorky, but less self-conscious about it now, and harder to intimidate. She lets the accusations roll off of her because she realizes they are essentially Sunset Shimmer venting in order to deal with her jealousy. And then, Sunset Shimmer and Twilight Sparkle have already butted heads; you don't beat around the bush so much after that. Also, Twilight has actually used the Elements of Harmony on Sunset Shimmer. The last pony she did that for? Luna. Who was just about the only pony not the least bit intimidated or scared of her when she showed up in Ponyville out of nowhere? Twilight Sparkle. There might be something about that moment of mental connection that makes it easier for Twilight to understand and connect with those she's saved this way.

In the end, much of this stuff is subconscious. This is how I imagine their conversation goes - the reasons aren't clear to me in detail. The Twilight Sparkle in my head differs from the one found in others, and the official one for that matter, in various ways I can't possibly all detect.

Here's something rather more worrying to me - that the story gives off an impression of being the first chapter of a larger one. Unfortunately, I don't have anything more planned. This is supposed to be it. Sunset's quest for atonement, so to speak, is supposed to be left unfulfilled on purpose. At some level of severity, the mistakes of the past stay with you forever. Forgiven, not forgotten. You just have to keep going anyway, for your own sake as much as that of those you care about.

The last line of the story is a callback to Sunset Shimmer's original plan in coming to Equestria; to get some sort of punishment that would somehow erase the guilt she feels so she can get on with her life ("After that, there would be a future."). Celestia dispels that particular hope with her verdict (though even if she had actually imprisoned or banished Sunset, she would have eventually found out that it wouldn't have helped) and then the conversation becomes about what actually works; Celestia shares her personal experiences as freely as she does as part of her own quest to atone for the mistakes she made with Sunset Shimmer ("There is no greater sin for a teacher."). The last line is supposed to show for sure that Sunset Shimmer understands that she has a future even though her guilt will never be completely erased. That's all she can hope for, and all she needs. Does that make sense?

I'm sure there's a way to make it more clear than it is, if there is need for it (it looks like it). And it's not like a continuation is out of the question - I'm just operating on a thin branch as it is because time-wise, the story is set after, most likely, the events of season four, five and all the ones yet to come. It's not even out of the question that the show itself will feature Sunset Shimmer as a pony and joss the everliving crap out of Atonement; it was only ruled out for season four officially.

Well, that started abrutply and escalated quickly. Bravo :smalltongue:. Little confused by the fact that there was a call out to Power Ponies, but Daring Don't apparantly never happened. This comic must have been written inbetween the two episodes.

Overall not bad, could have used more set up, but there were some good little gags and visual bits. Spike with an emerald in an ice cream cone got a chuckle from me, and the romance novel with Dash the macho sailor was fun too.

And now we have Maleficent, Voldemort, and Loki ponies in Ponyville. Next issue should be good!

(My previous job was at a college campus and every couple of months these two ladies would show up to give free Red Bull samples. I got to know them and they would hook me up with the stuff cheap. Red Bull got me through many comission projects)

I once ran a dungeon crawl in the spirit of Portal. The 'Cave Johnson' of the dungeon was a bored elemental spirit that filled the dungeon with treasure just to attract adventurers for entertainment. It was like Tomb of Horrors played for comedy. Good times.

Yeah! My boss showed me pics of one that did bases and set pieces for cakes. Crazy awesome designs came out of that machine.

Ah, speaking of games! I was bestowed knowledge of the ancients... or rather, just had a crazy awesome dream.
In it, I was designing a Pony game with the RPG Maker software (which I actually do have).

The premise: The CMC were in the Everfree forest doing some crusading. They get attacked by an otherworldly creature and pulled into an alternate dimension where Ponies don't get cutie marks. They learn that such a thing was sealed away by an ancient evil. Seeing this as an opportunity to earn theirs, they help release the first seal and get cutie marks the form of "Job Classes", like in Final Fantasy.

I once ran a dungeon crawl in the spirit of Portal. The 'Cave Johnson' of the dungeon was a bored elemental spirit that filled the dungeon with treasure just to attract adventurers for entertainment. It was like Tomb of Horrors played for comedy. Good times.

Yeah! My boss showed me pics of one that did bases and set pieces for cakes. Crazy awesome designs came out of that machine.

I don't know, the name Ponytones makes me think of the Mighty Mighty Bosstones. So perhaps we get Fluttershy singing ska?

I remember seeing a couple of old episodes at my Grandparents house once, along with some Rocky and Bullwinkle, still definitely not my era but I wasn't oblivious to its existence when the trailer came out.

I'm looking forward to it as well, I'm really not sure why since most of Dreamworks' newer stuff never really interested me, (along with most recent animated movies, really) but this one actually looks pretty good.

Pony definitely has a healthy dose of mythology. The changelings were another surprising one, somewhere between actual changeling myths and succubus creatures. And kind of adorable in their own creepy way.

Hydras, manticores, sea serpents, the spoof of the three wierd sisters... love it.

Well, I just picked up the first Friends Forever comic.
Not at all what I was expecting, honestly. I was expecting some sort of baking contest and confrontation between Applejack and Pinkie Pie, especially considering the cover (http://wac.450f.edgecastcdn.net/80450F/comicsalliance.com/files/2013/11/MLP01.jpg). Instead, we get... a baking contest where they try to help an unrelated pony?

I guess I'm just not understanding the whole "Friends Forever" title. I mean, reference back to the baked bads (and perhaps Party of One, with Marine Sandwich) was amusing to see, but I'm not sure how that ties Pinkie and AJ together.

Vermouth Roux, the griffon, has some seriously strange taste. :smallyuk:

I'll just go ahead and wrap this in spoiler tags, at least as much for space as for actual spoilers (the only thing potentially spoiled is my own story, but it's something)

I've only read the bit that was available as a preview on deviantArt - the backstory, and I took a good number of cues from it and made sure that my story would fit, but consciously didn't reference it directly; only the movie. Moments like Celestia's remorseful "One of many" definitely reassured me that my interpretation of what Celestia would feel about Sunset leaving wasn't too far off the mark. I assume you'd have mentioned it if there were glaring contradictions of my story with the comic, so I'll be hopeful as far as that goes. It's not trivial to get the comic in Germany and I've been successfully avoiding reading scans so far; I just love to experience brand new pony on actual paper and ink too much.

The Twilight of my story is a bit older, a bit wiser and a bit more confident than the one seen in EqG - sort of how I imagine she would be like after thirty moons of princesshood. Still dorky, but less self-conscious about it now, and harder to intimidate. She lets the accusations roll off of her because she realizes they are essentially Sunset Shimmer venting in order to deal with her jealousy. And then, Sunset Shimmer and Twilight Sparkle have already butted heads; you don't beat around the bush so much after that. Also, Twilight has actually used the Elements of Harmony on Sunset Shimmer. The last pony she did that for? Luna. Who was just about the only pony not the least bit intimidated or scared of her when she showed up in Ponyville out of nowhere? Twilight Sparkle. There might be something about that moment of mental connection that makes it easier for Twilight to understand and connect with those she's saved this way.

In the end, much of this stuff is subconscious. This is how I imagine their conversation goes - the reasons aren't clear to me in detail. The Twilight Sparkle in my head differs from the one found in others, and the official one for that matter, in various ways I can't possibly all detect.

Here's something rather more worrying to me - that the story gives off an impression of being the first chapter of a larger one. Unfortunately, I don't have anything more planned. This is supposed to be it. Sunset's quest for atonement, so to speak, is supposed to be left unfulfilled on purpose. At some level of severity, the mistakes of the past stay with you forever. Forgiven, not forgotten. You just have to keep going anyway, for your own sake as much as that of those you care about.

The last line of the story is a callback to Sunset Shimmer's original plan in coming to Equestria; to get some sort of punishment that would somehow erase the guilt she feels so she can get on with her life ("After that, there would be a future."). Celestia dispels that particular hope with her verdict (though even if she had actually imprisoned or banished Sunset, she would have eventually found out that it wouldn't have helped) and then the conversation becomes about what actually works; Celestia shares her personal experiences as freely as she does as part of her own quest to atone for the mistakes she made with Sunset Shimmer ("There is no greater sin for a teacher."). The last line is supposed to show for sure that Sunset Shimmer understands that she has a future even though her guilt will never be completely erased. That's all she can hope for, and all she needs. Does that make sense?

I'm sure there's a way to make it more clear than it is, if there is need for it (it looks like it). And it's not like a continuation is out of the question - I'm just operating on a thin branch as it is because time-wise, the story is set after, most likely, the events of season four, five and all the ones yet to come. It's not even out of the question that the show itself will feature Sunset Shimmer as a pony and joss the everliving crap out of Atonement; it was only ruled out for season four officially.
My comment about future chapters are probably thanks to the Incomplete tag on the story itself, which led me to believe that you had something more in store with this. As I said, it's a good story by itself!

Overall, a bit of a middling tale this one, not helped by the misleading cover! I mean, AJ wasn't even intending to compete :smalltongue:

Some nice gags, and a weird cartoonish supervillain at the end made me figure that this episode has been influenced by Power Ponies as well. I don't think the lesson had much impact, but for a bit of lighthearted fun it delivered. Still, I do prefer to get more than that from pony.

I so don't get what criteria the judges were awarding winners on, except that they always seemed to do it in inverse to how much the contestant is trying to win.

I also liked the fact that the Summer Van Der Hoof chef has spent so long making other ponies' favourite dishes that she can't figure out a simple request to make her favourite dish.

MLP #15

Well, this is a second comic that seemed to be inspired directly by Power Ponies. But this one does it right.

I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised at the step up when the catipillar pods all started opening. I was expecting a story where they had to deal with a bug infestation, not one where we end up with Pony Loki, The Black Queen, Voldemort and a villainous Fabio running around. A good step up in my opinion, and brings back the fantastic and the dangerous to what otherwise would have been a very mundane plot.

Chewin' up stories and poopin out characters ... I'll never think of bookworms as the same thing again. :smalleek::smalltongue:

Also, entertaining to see the ponies and their reading material. I don't really know what's going on with the whole 'can't magic until plot resolved' aspect, but it didn't knock me out of my engagement with the story. Poor Pinkie. Also, Holy Hayballs is my new favourite pony term for surprise.

Some good promise of for the arc. Hoping that the second half delivers on the solid setup.

Well don't I feel silly now! I hadn't even released it, so I forgot about adjusting the status completely and never paid attention to it. Of course the tag "Incomplete" would lead a reader to the assumption that the story is incomplete. Perfectly obvious to anyone with a lick of common sense. Oh well. One can make do without. Just a bit more stressful.

I think that seals the deal, then. I'll submit it as soon as I have cover art. Ponythread comes through once again!

I think Wendigos go a bit beyond the usual "Some combination of sexy time and murder" personally. But at that point it's "what icks you out more".

Well, I finally finished another story. I've reread a couple of times and am still in that delusional state where I think it might be pretty good, but no one else has seen it yet, and I'm not too comfortable hitting "Submit" it on it with that in mind. Ponythread has come through for me with great input in the past, so I'm humbly asking once more for thoughts, suggestions and so forth!
It's just over 7000 words, so nothing huge. The story features Celestia and Sunset Shimmer, so Equestria Girls is necessary to be able to understand it. It doesn't, however, take place in the human world.
Oh cool, someone else interested in Sunset Shimmer. I read it, and have 2 things to say:

(1) During his Youtube review of Equestria Girls, Digibrony/Digibro gave his impression of Sunset. I found it very informative, and also very affirming as it was pretty much how I wrote Sunset, except in action not analysis.

(2) Digibrony was wondering why Sunset, who is supposed to be smart, made the dumb plan of trying to conquer Equestria with just a schoolful of teenagers. Not much of an army. I'll reiterated what I thought Sunset's plan actually was...

Her brainwashed army wasn't as much an army as it was a horde of willing hostages. There was no way Celestia was going to order her soldiers to go and kill an enemy army of mind-controlled children, and Sunset knew it. Her real goal is to force Celestia to an one-on-one duel. Sunset wanted to dethrone Celestia and validate herself as worthy of becoming Princess, by virtue of personal might.

Her fundamental driving goal was never to "conquer Equestria" through mundane war. What would that prove? Her goal was to be personally superior to the Sun Princess, to one-up her. To show everyone, Celestia in particular, that she is born to be a titan among ponies.

This is not because she hates Celestia for no reason. Of course she does like power, and is ambitious and prideful. But the main reason she is so focused on Celestia is because She told her "No, you cannot be a Princess, i.e. I the Sun Princess decree that you are not good enough." That is what she absolutely could not abide by.

What you wrote here is either a) actually present in the story (if not in that exact phrasing) or b) something I don't agree on. I don't think it's necessary to invent a less stupid plan for 'demonic' Sunset Shimmer to secretly have, when the much easier explanation is insanity. Nightmare Moon actually wanted to shroud Equestria in eternal night, no matter if it killed everyone. That's not smart villainy. That's insane villainy. And to me the parallels between Nightmare Moon and demonic Shimmer are too striking to ignore. Then there are the tears Sunset sheds as she is transformed, and the genuine, almost extreme distress she displays once it is over. To me, that's classic "What Have I Done". She wasn't entirely herself - that suffices as an explanation for the apparent override of her smartness. (There's also a great gulf between being smart and making smart decisions in any given situation.)

I've done my own analysis; the story is the result. There are other valid interpretations of Sunset Shimmer (I don't claim the one true way), but I haven't based my story on them and am not planning to. If my analysis is incomplete and my own story contradicts either itself or the show, that's something else entirely.

Maybe I've been reading too much SCP or something lately, but that makes sense to me.

Analysis videos are analysis videos. Siskel and Ebert are analysis videos. Nothing intrinsically good or bad about them, just depends on whether you think the reviewer generally does a good job. So not watching them is 1 thing, but saying oh he probably doesn't say anything worth considering without ever listening to him is disingenuous.

AFAIR, you didn't mention SS's motivations for the invasion did you. Neither in words nor in implications. The story is mainly concerned about the aftermath.
It's not an invention, it's a natural extension of what is revealed in the comics (which I consider lesser canon but since it was pushing the movie it probably had more Hasbro input than usual) and the movie.
I consider "temporary insanity" to be a cop-out device.
Also, the plan wasn't concocted at the last second. SS had a plan before she put on the crown; her plan cannot consist of only "Get the crown -> ??? -> Profit!"

I can get behind that her demon form warped her mind and amplified the negative. But that still doesn't mean she got stupid. She still had to have a plan beyond "put crown on head."
Also I don't think it was a case of her real self being imprisoned in a tiny corner of her skull by a demonic possession or something. If that's what you're implying. The demon was still her own consciousness, just warped and corrupted.

Oh man. I think the episode that makes me the most conflict about this show is Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000.

On one hand, the song is AWESOME. The animation/drama is superbly played up, etc..

On the other hand, as a (alleged) "greedy capitalist", I can only think of the stupidity of the Flim-Flam brothers (couple?) and how their short-sightedness just ruined what could have been perfect win-win-win situation for EVERYONE (Apple Orchard-Brothers-Consumers), but they insisted in an absurd % of the profits which would have driven their own partners out of business.

Capitalism is always shown to be the silly shortsighted ideal, when it can be such a powerful force of good when used responsibly. :smallfrown:

Flim-Flam brothers could have made lots of money out of their machine. The Apple Family could have had a much more efficient source of quality cider and increased their revenue. the Consumers would have had access to a much greater quantity of ciders. BUT NO, WE HAD TO GO THE GREEDY ROUTE

Flim and Flam weren't so much legitimate businessponies out to try their hand at the free and open market, as they were con ponies trying to swindle the Apples out of their farm. For them, the greedy route was their primary, go-to plan from the start. Sure, they could've made a decent amount of bits going legitimate, but for their own reasons they didn't.

You could probably write a pretty decent fic exploring their life and why they chose the route they did. Think about it; they took a perfectly serviceable cider-making machine capable of matching the production and quality of trained cider-makers, and their first instinct is, "Let's go get ourselves a farm to boot!" Heck, I'd read a story about those ponies.

But more to the point, I think it's less a story about the evils of capitalism, and more about the evils of fast-talking con artists up to no good. Unless capitalism now involves property exchanges over cider-making competitions, in which case I really wasn't paying attention in high school Economics. :smalleek:

I don't mind that Digibrony does what he does, and I definitely don't think he never says anything worth considering - just that from the way it's presented alone I'm reluctant to watch, and I've yet to hear anything that would convince me.

The big one:

Sunset Shimmer sighed. She remembered the pain, and the tears, and tiny voices in her head growing louder until they started coming out of her mouth. She remembered power, so much power. It was easy, so easy - just channel her magic, reach out, touch minds, and twist. And every time she was imagining how easy it would be, she had suddenly found she had already done it soon after. Had she had control of her body or her senses? What she never could extract from her memories was that moment inbetween the imagination of what she could do and the actual doing. She couldn't tell for sure. But in the end, she had allowed it to happen, and it had caused unimaginable hurt to a lot of people. She bore the guilt either way. That guilt was what had driven her back to Equestria in the first place. If she denied it now, she might as well have stayed behind.

Absent-mindedly, she stared at the teacup on the ground in front of her, and fought with her jealousy. It had been raging and burning thirty moons ago, when she had learnt that another student had taken her place and been crowned princess during the first half of her exile, and had never quite gone out[...].

These passages at least are concerned with the motivations behind her invasion, in my mind. And as you rightly point out, it's not even the main focus of the story.

Demonic Shimmer in the movie says the following: "I want Equestria! And with my own little teenage army behind me, I am going to get it!" Not sure where using them as hostages comes in, here. Or for that matter in the preview I've seen (I haven't read the complete comic, so if there's something more concrete in the actual human world about it, I wouldn't know). I guess it's a valid theory.

I don't see it as a given that whatever plans Sunset Shimmer herself may have had survived the transformation (to me she looks clearly unhinged, but what do I know), nor would I deem it particularly unlikely that she didn't have concrete plans on how to use the crown. She seems single-mindedly focused on the power it will grant her - power equivalent of the princess she deserves to be - and not on the steps that follow. Even in the comic, that's all that seems to be on her mind. Becoming a princess, and ruling. How would she even get clear information on the power the Element of Magic entails, when it's a mystery to everyone involved in Magical Mystery Cure? If a book had such information, Twilight would have read it long ago.

That would work only if Nightmare Moon hadn't sprung from Luna. "Bring about eternal night" wasn't derived from a vacuum, or from a nihilistic or pure evil "Kill everyone" impulse; it's a mutation of Luna's original desire to have her night be appreciated by everyone.

Nightmare Moon clearly isn't stupid. She displays cunning and guile and capability. But neither is she sane.

Interesting! What are they?

Transformation.

Jealousy and bitterness.

The desire to achieve power to impose their will on everyone else, overthrowing Celestia in the process.

A connection to the Elements of Harmony before the transformation.

Both of them were freed by the Elements of Harmony, and left behind alive and free, but full of remorse.

There are differences, too, no question. It's just my personal take on it. I thought it became apparent in the story that at least one of the reasons Celestia has to believe that Sunset can be forgiven is that she has to be able to forgive her sister as well. (I added a passage to elaborate on that parallel recently.)

It's absolutely not what I'm implying. I've quoted the relevant passage above. Sunset Shimmer doesn't know if she pulled the trigger on her own actions, but neither can she remember fighting back against them. I can sign the statement "The demon was still her own consciousness, just warped and corrupted" with a good conscience, actually. That's essentially what I was going for.

It doesn't mean that her plan beyond "put crown on head", if she had one, actually survived intact.

I mostly just misunderstood that passage to mean that "2 things to say" meant about the story rather than Sunset Shimmer. The story is on my mind a lot these days.

I think the earth pony way is more about not using blatant magic to clean up winter in one big arcane *poof!*

You could probably write a pretty decent fic exploring their life and why they chose the route they did. Heck, I'd read a story about those ponies.

Since they need apples for the machine (as they asked AJ to borrow some just for their demo, and then again for the contest) I suppose they didn't want to spend the time and effort buying land and building their own farm (especially if that machine costed a lot to build).

The only fanfic I dea I ever had with those two was one where AJ meets them again during a trip to a fair in another town. The brothers were broke and their machine was a flop, but they still had their mechanical know-how and wanted to do something new. AJ helps fund their project to build an airplane (thus making them out like the Wright Brothers). This brings the brothers fame and in return AJ gets the rights to their old apple machine so she can mechanize her farm to keep up with a growing Ponyville demand.

(hence why the episode, while being extremely enjoyable, just conflicts me. It provokes me at a deeper level than I am used to)
Unfortunately, this is something that tends to crop up when Applejack gets involved (for some reason). The message of the episode, that you shouldn't be greedy and overreaching, makes sense. But the context just doesn't feel right, as the episode felt like tradition vs technology and it seems to convey an "technology bad" vibe at the end. The more recent Bats! episode had the same problem, I think.

as for Pregnantshy, Can't, Cloud uses potions to keep her from concieving or Siring a Foal, so Unless Shy's been with Somepony else(Unlikely), she can't be pregnant.

That and Chenger has been working very hard to keep Winingverse close to canon, and there is no room for a pregnant fluttershy in the canaon timeline(especially now that we have confirmation that seasons 13 are just one year.)

I'd recommend it to you, but it's not everypony's cup of tea, and there is some early installment weirdness(To the Point where the Author went back and completely rewrote the original story so it would fit into canon better.

The Contraceptives were first mentioned in "Study of a Winning Pony" which is Twilights perspective story.

But some of this stuff also comes from the FAQ, which I recomend you read.Cuase it has stuff that hasn't come up in the main story yet(Classifications of Unicorn Power, certain types of magic that are restricted/illegal, Power Of Love foals are actually much more common than most ponies think, but a lot of them come from strait parents who have something or other that my prevent them from conceiving(Stallion Shooting Blanks, for example)

If the Parrent's are not aware of the condition, then they assume that the love foal is a normal foal

I have come to the understanding that thus far, one scene in all of Pony's run that never fails to get me all teary-eyed is the last part of Granny Smith's retelling of Ponyville's founding from Family Appreciation Day. It's just a great moment of awesome with the music and the pan of the classroom to show all the kids awed by the story. Very heartwarming.

Oh man. I think the episode that makes me the most conflict about this show is Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000.
Capitalism is always shown to be the silly shortsighted ideal, when it can be such a powerful force of good when used responsibly. :smallfrown:
I don't think it's purely a put-down of capitalism, considering there are lots of small and large private businesses in Equestria which function normally (all the businesses/shops of the Mane 6, Diamond Tiara's dad what's-his-chain-store-called, etc).

Rather it's an inadvertent condemnation of technology and innovation. That rather an invention is celebrated for making pony life better, it's painted as "oh noes a newfangled devil's contraption that messes with muh tradishun!"

That's a much worse implication than if the show was just dismissing capitalism (which it does also).

Something I've been wondering for a long time now, Cadance's full name is said to be Mi Amore Cadenza, which I understand is Italian for My Love Cadence. That's all well and good, but in the show it always sounded to me like they say (very clearly) Mi Amore E Cadenza. Is that just how Italians do it - pronouncing an E which isn't written - or is it actually missing from her written name for inexplicable reasons? Or is the pronunciation wrong? What's up with this?

Man I hate analysis videos. For three reasons,

1) The Voice. I generally don't like people's voices so I almost certainly won't enjoy listening to some random guy.

2) One Way Communication. I can't really reply to anything they are saying so it becomes more of a lecture then a conversation. I'm not really interested in hearing other people's opinion if I can't discuss it with them

3) Media Chosen: A video is so slow and clunky for me to watch. Depending on the reviewer it can actually take the same amount of time as the episode/movie itself, though it generally is a little less. If they wrote their review instead I could read it in something like 5 minutes instead.

This, in particular #3. I can not for the life of me figure out what the big idea is about watching a talking face (or in the case of MLP a stiff OC pony) spend 30 minutes to say what could have been read in 5 minutes (and probably written in 10).

The only "analysis" videos I watch are the ones by Kimi Sparkle.

So why is it being cast as the "underdog we root for" in the fashion of sports movies, in effect trapping Rainbow Dash from achieving her sports destiny from misplaced loyalty? If IRL is anything to go by, RD is on a timer; her youthful prime will not last forever. His comment is more of a meta critique; his discomfort is the same one would feel when watching Super Speedy Cider Squeezy's villification of inventors.
That's where that Lebron analogy was completely inaccurate. It's not Lebron breaking contract from one legit sports team to another. It's if Lebron is playing in the Little League (somehow) because a friend asked him to and he had nothing better to do. But then suddenly the NBA shows up and offers him a contract. It's irrelevant to the timeframe of your story, but I don't think that's a good method of character analysis/inference. Never assume character stupidity just because there is (Hasbro) writers stupidity, because that's very limiting for your own fan work expansions.

I mean what underlying facts of her personality speak to that motivation beyond "Muwahahaha" (which is never the justification one should settle for, except for Joker/Kefka/Discord/etc). It helps the character breathe once she moves past the confines of the canon movie.

If your intention was only to discuss Sunset Shimmer and not actually address the story - isn't all you said about the story "I read it"?

(1) A big part of whether you watch a particular reviewer is whether you like his/her voice and speech mannerism. If you don't, then you won't watch. For example, Red Letter Media's voice is GRATING. I only watched it because he had great critiques of the Prequel trainwreck but I'd never go back to see if he has any other vids.
(2) That's... so you don't watch Nova either?
(3) If the show is dense enough to talk extensively about, there's nothing wrong with the review being longer than the show. That just speaks to the show's quality and the breadth of knowledge of the reviewer.

(4) That's like saying you can't read comics because of static talking faces. Anyways, they usually include scenes from the show so my eyes can at least follow something while I listen. And in the case of Digibrony, I'm sure he takes longer than 5 mins to research and compose many of his analyses.

I did the multi-quote wall-of-text thing once and I already felt silly then. All they do is spawn tangent after tangent.

We have different takes on a lot of things, and I don't think continuously talking past each other will solve that.

I'm going to let myself pick one thing and elaborate from there - Seriously? Filly Sunset Shimmer can't be homesick? I know she's smart and capable and all, but she's still a person, with flaws and fears and touchy-feely stuff like that. Scenes like the opening scene of Atonement are the scenes I love writing the most; I've never wondered about the specifics of Sunset's villainous plans mainly because I'm not interested in any of it.

Now that I think about it, the reason I didn't end up writing about Sunset's original motivations behind overthrowing Celestia much at all is pretty simple: Neither Celestia or Sunset see any use in bringing them up. Sunset post-EqG, at least in my interpretation, doesn't have those motivations anymore, and she doesn't miss them for a second. All they've brought her, after all, is regrets.

Some romance languages are like Spanish, where ever letter is pronounced. Some are like French, with a bunch of silent syllables. I'm not hearing any additional syllables in there.

It sounds almost like you're thinking of French. A similar phrase in French would be J'adore Cadence, which would be pronounced something like Jzah-Dor Cah-Deyn-ss.
(The word for love, amour, is male and doesn't have the ending ~e, hence the indirect comparison.)

(1) A big part of whether you watch a particular reviewer is whether you like his/her voice and speech mannerism. If you don't, then you won't watch. For example, Red Letter Media's voice is GRATING. I only watched it because he had great critiques of the Prequel trainwreck but I'd never go back to see if he has any other vids.
(2) That's... so you don't watch Nova either?
(3) If the show is dense enough to talk extensively about, there's nothing wrong with the review being longer than the show. That just speaks to the show's quality and the breadth of knowledge of the reviewer.

(4) That's like saying you can't read comics because of static talking faces. Anyways, they usually include scenes from the show so my eyes can at least follow something while I listen. And again, if you like the voice and speech, something is gained from listening to a human rather than yourself reading text.
And in the case of Digibrony, I'm sure he takes longer than 5 mins to research and compose many of his analyses.

1) Exactly. There are very few voices that I'm willing to listen to. For me I couldn't even finish Red Letter Media's videos because I couldn't handle his voice.

2) Well I don't know what that is so...nope I don't watch Nova.

3) But I'm not willing to listen to their voice (which I've already established as disliking at best, bar exceptional circumstances) for 30 minutes, about things that I don't get to talk back to them about. Had it instead been written down, I could likely read it in 5 minutes, reply to it, and be listening to pleasant music the entire time.

Oh and more thoughts on your story:

(1) I like how you added that Celestia feels it's her flawed mentoring that contributed to SS taking the wrong path. It is nice headcanon to her drastically different, more hands-off approach to Twi's education.
(2) I like SS's ambivalence towards Celestia. For almost all ponies nowadays, even those who eventually come to vehemently oppose her, I think they all start from a position of love (for Celestia). She is, or sensibly should be, that central to the pony worldview.
When SS made the emulation of Celestia her driving purpose, she focused on Her power and majesty as the ultimate good. She took the wrong lessons home as to the foundation of that aura of majesty, and why it is ultimately good.

I'm going to let myself pick one thing and elaborate from there - Seriously? Filly Sunset Shimmer can't be homesick? I know she's smart and capable and all, but she's still a person, with flaws and fears and touchy-feely stuff like that. Scenes like the opening scene of Atonement are the scenes I love writing the most;
Well she could be homesick, but I think it's narrative purpose conflicting with character establishment.

SS is someone who voluntarily exiled herself into an alien world, alone and probably with full knowledge that she'd lose her greatest appendage (the magical horn). And she still prospered enough that she became a serious threat (until finally stopped). That doesn't prohibit writing about her being cute in her foalhood, but should she exhibit homesickness as a trait? Since you'd expect Celestia's young pupils to be homesick, shouldn't she be unique in being gung-ho about leaving home?

For example, in the Batman animation Under The Red Hood, Jason Todd as a child was depicted not as crying for home, but as an irrepressible urchin excited to be in the Batcave. You can say he probably did cry at night, but it doesn't reinforce the character for the purpose of the movie.

It's not some iron-clad characterization rule, but that's my thought process behind the original comment. Ofc you can say that for the purposes of your fanfic's character arc, a moment of weakness in that direction is appropriate.

I've never wondered about the specifics of Sunset's villainous plans mainly because I'm not interested in any of it.
Similar to what I said above, her plans inform on her character. If we follow my interpretation, it leads to that her driving goal is not Equestria, but Celestia. She wants power and princesshood, but that motivation did not appear out of vacuum; it's because of her exposure to Celestia.

If you follow her villain monologue verbatim, then there's no sense of that ambivalence. She wants to "conquer Equestria" because she "wants power" or "is stupid-insane." You can fit any cardboard villain into that mindset.

Neither Celestia or Sunset see any use in bringing them up. Sunset post-EqG, at least in my interpretation, doesn't have those motivations anymore, and she doesn't miss them for a second. All they've brought her, after all, is regrets.
It is a part of her central character. She may have seen the light and recognize that friendship values are the greatest strengths of pony, but that doesn't make her personality different. According to how her past (the events of the movie) informs on her character, she's still independent, ambitious, competitive, rebellious, driven, adventurous, calculating, prideful, opinionated, *and* an intellectual maverick. I don't even need the comics to tell me that, although it does corroborate.

I assume you mean when the official announcement was made? Because there was speculation/discussion and an ever-mounting pile of evidence for some time before that. I'm fairly confident I know which one to it is, just need to do a bit of searching.

Huh, I could swear that bit was already there when I gave out the password. I only added the paragraph in which Celestia talks about how Luna had tried, just like Sunset Shimmer, to assume full responsibility for actions she couldn't control.

Through Sunset Shimmer's origin story, a lot of Celestia's and Twilight's interactions end up in a different light, I definitely agree. Lesson Zero becomes especially chilling if you watch it with Celestia remembering her all too recent failure in paying attention to Sunset Shimmer's development. It must have been all the greater relief when she realized it ended up being a valuable lesson for Twilight rather than a sign that she had gone out of control just like Sunset had.

In part, I added little Sunset Shimmer and her homesickness to form a parallel to close to the end, when she realizes she will miss her friends - who'd become her "home". But there might be a little more to it.

Characters grow to be who they are. Sunset Shimmer can't always have been how she is in the beginning of the Equestria Girls Annual, or Celestia would've felt the need to step in much sooner. She must've been a bit more docile, a bit less headstrong, and maybe not quite so in love with herself, at the beginning, for Celestia to be lulled into not seeing the signs of her going bad. It lends weight to Celestia's guilt - she didn't just screw up by not realizing Sunset Shimmer was always going to turn out no good - she screwed up much, much worse, because Sunset definitely did have the potential to turn out right.

I been watching this 90 minute program from Nat-Geo called "When Aliens Attack (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LR3Y1e1ZVMQ)" today. I haven't read too many "Humans/Aliens/Others invade Equestria" stories, but what I've touched could learn a few tips from this program. Quite interesting stuff. :smallsmile:

One thing they mention that can favor the low-tech society in a war are balloons. Hard to detect on radar and easy to employ. ...so I imagine Pinkie Pie's specialty suddenly does get weaponized to lift ponies around and for guerrilla tactics. XD

So yeah, food for thought.

She breathed a heavy sigh when she saw how remorseful Twi immediately was, but her true relief would come when she saw how the Mane5 volunteered for blame because they regretted not taking heed of Twi. Because Celestia knows that at this stage of Twi's development if she decides to stray, there is nothing Celestia can do to correct her. Only her friends would be able to.

It's partially the parents vs peers analogy. But also because that is the inevitable burden of being a living pillar, reflected in a microcosm. It's the same context as that certain proverb which says if a certain deity comes down to Earth tomorrow, it will be his own believers who would be the first to crucify him. Being an immortal philosopher king out of The Republic, every little thing Celestia does, or doesn't do, has grave consequences. Like Lesson Zero. And if she personally tries to intervene, you get the Sunset Shimmer event because Celestia the icon is too elevated on each pony psyche's individual pedestal to allow the truth in.

Just by virtue of her existence, the institution around her has ossified into dogma, to the point where she can no longer move a muscle as if she's a bull in a china shop (her own shop in fact). Whatever else one may think of This Platinum Crown, it details that very well regarding Celestia whether the feuding nobility in that story exists in canon or not.

That guy does tons of awesome stuff, including his Yu-Gi-Oh reenacted by ponies, Pokemon reenacted by ponies, and Game Grumps animated Tennoutaten.

I'd forgotten how long and hilarious that was.

Though, y'know, something struck me as I was watching that, as Appleblom and Scootaloo were re-enacting the story scene. It occurred to me that far more stories could do with taking what they said about stories to heart. There is too much now weight focussed on the darkness of the tales itself.

So I just read the MLP-X-com crossover called Stardust (http://www.fimfiction.net/story/100455/stardust)

I quite liked it. In fact I loved it. Except for the very last chapter. It had issues. Everything else though was quite good. Good reactions from all the human characters, some nice fleshing out of the X-com character's history. Believable reactions from the ponies. However it had three minor problems

1) I think it messed up Discord's characterization, particularly after chapter 1.

2) It messed up Celestia's history. I don't think it really fits the character.

3) It certainly messed up the very last chapter. It just doesn't seem to be believable considering what happened in the story prior.

All of those problems though are easily ignored, as the chapter before the last also makes for a good ending point, and those scenes are relatively minor.

Regarding the 'last chapter', are you meaning the one that's done in the style of a cinematic trailer? Or the penultimate chapter, and the last with actual story in it?

The final chapter is more of a 'I'm writing a sequel, it will be about this'.

The cinematic trailer one. Basically I don't think it'll be a good sequel. I felt the first one pretty much wrapped everything up, and while potential for a sequel exists I think it needs to be about a different matter then the one chosen.

Well, for the record it's not meant to be propaganda against anyone here. :smallbiggrin: It was informative in regards to the subject of Pony stories where they meet humans and first contact isn't friendly. I read a few such stories and they were kinda of... not believable I guess is the word.
